Good morning and Happy Sunday!

We watched the rocket launch last night. Amazing!

This first picture is 6 minutes after takeoff.

This is a short video, make sure to watch it once Craig zooms in:

I find it amazing that we can see it so well almost 700 miles away. The trajectory was toward Cabo San Lucas. I wonder if those on the Volendam saw it.

Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily.

Beavers are ok, but in the wild can cause issues. Snail-papers are almost gone, sadly. I use the metric system somewhat; it was used at work for weights, temps and size of things. Funny quote. Yes to the meal and drink, pass on the wine. I haven't been to Costa Maya.

It's sunny and 55F right now. This has been a wacky day for me. I woke up around 4AM, then had several episodes of sleep after, finally waking up at 10:30 after the last! I posted the Cares list after the 2nd waking up. And unfortunately when I got up for good, I realized my left eye was red and light sensitive, so now I'm treating that. I can't imagine my eyes and hands when I have to go off the Kevzara (for RA and my eyes) for 6 weeks following surgery. So I'm sitting here in a darkish room, no lights on, with sunglasses on. Luckily I can touch type! BFF and I head to Erie tomorrow morning; hopefully the clouds won't obscure the eclipse too badly.

Bon Voyage to @Heartgrove's DW Sue and DSIL, @Overhead Fred and Mitzi, and @Vict0riann and Pat.

@StLouisCruisers Lovely photos from Costa Maya.

@dfish Some healthier potato salads use part cauliflower and part potatoes, to lower the carbs. I hope your eye swelling recedes soon.

@grapau27 Welcome home. That sounds like a great cruise itinerary. I got to see the Hotel NY Rotterdam on my TA last year, which ended in Rotterdam. Thanks for the photos.

@MISTER 67 Sorry to hear about your cold. BTDT recently. Feel better soon.

@Seasick Sailor I'm glad Allen got his medication.

@RMLincoln Very good of you to try to impart some wisdom to the "kids" about what may come up in the future, dealing with aging parents. Because my DM had developed dementia, I had to deal with much of that in my late 30's.

@smitty34877 I'm sorry Tana had a rough night, but glad she's feeling better now. Good to hear the teenager is helping out. With all that's going on in your household, no one would blame you for toning down expectations.

@RedneckBob Good for you, being so particular about your diet.

@kazu I'm so sorry to hear about all that's going on with you. Feel better soon!

@aliaschief You are seeing many places I'll likely never get to see. Thanks for sharing your wonderful photos.

@Norseh2o Cool!

@Sharon in AZ Cool photo and video. Thanks.

Prayers for the Care List and Cheers to those Celebrating.

I would love to have some of that potato salad if only it could be prepared without salt and low sodium mayo. Pass on the drink and would like the wine.

I was at Costa Maya 1 time, took a HAL expedition to visit the ruins of Tulum, the most beautiful Mayan Capitol as the ocean is it's background.

A strange day for me so far; I woke up about 15 minutes before my alarm feeling very dizzy, very weak and slightly nauseous. Almost fell as I staggered into the bathroom. After taking my morning meds I made my way into the kitchen by holding onto the walls, fed my cats and had a cup of coffee. Blood pressure was 161/87, high but not alarming for me. After sitting for an hour or so the dizzyness slowly went away. I was afraid to try driving so I watched a live feed for church and now the nausea has gone away. Still feeling somewhat weak but able to walk unsupported. I have an appointment at Banner University Hospital Interventional Cardiology department on Wed. so I will be sure to tell the Dr. about this.

@Sharon in AZ thank you for the video of the rocket launch. Gives a new perspective of how fast they travel.

@grapau27I swear you are making me gain weight just looking at your food porn.

@aliaschiefThank you for posting the beautiful photos of Kuala Lumpur, also the rest of your photos of your world cruise. You are a gifted photographer.

Prayers for those who are in need and hurrahs for those who are not in need.

Thank you Jane.

I'm saddened to hear your dizziness and feeling unwell episode.

I hope it doesn't happen again but definitely tell your cardiologist.

Good afternoon from another rainy day.  The forecast for the eclipse looks a bit more promising now...the clouds are supposed to clear.  Haven't been to the port, but our church body has a thriving mission there.  If we did go there, I think we'd visit the church.  I like potato salad, but usually buy it.  I like the mayo type, not the German style.  I'll celebrate Beer day!  Cheers! 🍻

Dear GD and all of the crew did a wonderful job with Willy Wonka Jr. yesterday.

Bon Voyage to those  sailing today!  I hope it's a good day for those trying to see the eclipse tomorrow.

@StLouisCruisersWhen are the twins due?  Prayers for them!

@grapau27Your pictures look great!

@RedneckBobI'd like to know how you can have such willpower with all of the good food and drink around you!!!

Welcome back to those on the 3 month cruise!

Have a great evening, K

Good Sunday afternoon,

Thank you to Jacqui for the Fleet Report and Dialy and to Roy for the Maps.

It took me more than an hour to get through all the posts.  I never did catch up on all I missed while I was AWOL. Guess I will just have to wing it.

Thank you Vanessa for the Cares and Celebrations Lists. I admire how meticulous you are in keeping track of all of us.  Thank you for caring about me in my absence. I was just in a bad place. Trying to work myself back into a better one.

Thank you to the F&B department—Debbie, Ann and Dixie.

Thank you to Graham @grapau27for Father David’s Hoily and also for your lovely photos. It looks like you had a nice cruise and I hope it lifted Pauline’s spirits.  I echo the others in wondering where you two put all that food. I couldn’t get away with a quarter of that.

I hope that the cruise helped Pauline feel better after the passing of Sarah’s father.

Today has been a good day so far.  The GI problems are better.  DH is having a good day and it is a beautiful sunny day.  I went food shopping and did a few things around the house.

I just wish my right shoulder and arm would feel better,  it is just about useless.

This is a busy week.  We have the HVAC people coming on Wednesday for the 6 month service,  then on Thursday, Jim sees the Neurologist.  Saturday, my cleaners come back (oh, happy day!) and we have to start packing for our trip.  I really think it will happen.  DH seems to be in a better place than last October,  Keeping my fingers and toes crossed that we can pull it off,

@Vict0riann and @Overhead FredBon Voyage!  Hope you have a wonderful time.

@smitty34877 Prayers for Tana and for you and your whole family.  I hope Tana’s crisis is over.  What a wonderful young man you have in ‘Tana’s son.

@JazzyVI hope the surgery works.  It is interesting that you are on Kevzara.  That was an option for me as an alternative to Prednisone when i saw the Rheumatologist.  I declined.  I am hoping to be off of Prednisone by in six months.  If that does not work, then I will reconsider Kevzara.

As for the meal, I like potato salad in most forms as long as there are no peppers in it.

I have been to Costa Maya most recently on our last cruise on the beautiful Oceania Vista.  We spent the day at the Maya Chan Beach Club and had a great time.

@Seasick Sailor prayers for Allen.

@aliaschief great photos. Sounds Ike you are having a great time.

Prayers for everyone.

God Bless,

Terri

A sunset today rather than a sunrise.  It's from my 2017 Zaandam cruise Buenos Aires to San Diego.  April 7 was a sea day from Coquimbo to Pisco.

Jane, that's scary about the dizziness, weakness and nausea. Perhaps medication related? If it recurs, I would call Cardiology right then, even though you have an appointment on Wednesday.

Terri, I have been on a multitude of drugs for my eyes (I have uveitis). After steroid drops alone didn't work, I was sent to Rheumatology. They did an extensive autoimmune workup that was negative. Then started high dose oral steroids. That fixed the eyes, but you can't stay on high doses. So the trials began to find a drug that would work. Most either didn't help or I couldn't tolerate side effects. In 2022 I was only on steroid drops and low dose oral steroids (prednisone 2.5mg). Then I developed swelling and pain of the knuckles and was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. We tried to find a drug that would help both the eyes and the RA. Finally came up with Kevzara (luckily it's supplied by the manufacturer, as it wasn't covered by my insurance at the time). While  not perfect, I am down from eye flares every 2 weeks to about every 3 months (I'm still on the drops and low dose prednisone). Good luck to you on your quest to treat your PMR.

Jane, I'm sorry to hear about how you felt this morning upon awakening.  You should definitely mention this at your medical appointment if not sooner.  Hopefully this is a one time occurrence.

Karen, the official due date is Aug. 15, but they will be born 3 weeks early on July 25.  The couple is 20.5 weeks right now.  Last set of twins came early, around 22 weeks and died shortly after birth.  Both sets of twins have been identical boys, naturally conceived which to me is a miracle.  Their sister is Elliott Rose.  Your, and everyone's prayers, are very much appreciated!

Made me giggle.  A few years ago a friend drove me down to Pier 91 here in Seattle so I could board.  In addition to Volendam there happened also to be a Princess ship in port.  As we approached, he asked me, "Which one is yours?".  I replied, "It's easy 'cause there are only two ships in port today.  However, it wouldn't matter if there were 10 ships in port. My answer would still be the same:  Mine is the SMALL one with the blue hull".

Oh, forgot to say -- that was about 10+ years ago.  Before the advent of the humungoudams (Pinnacle class).

Back from 6 Flags. The weather was beautiful, crowds almost nonexistent.

20oz Dasani water (1 bottle)  $9.18

Plain French fries (1 serving) $9.72

Parking $45

Total $63.90 + gas

Thank goodness the tickets were free.🙄

Oops, I forgot the pictures - I was wrapped up in doing the math for the $63 water, lol.

Six Flags original name was for the 6 flags that have flown over TX; there was a themed section in the park for each of the flags. One of each flag flew at the entrance - today, I noticed there are still 6 flags, but they are all USA. You can see 3 of the 6 in this photo along with one of the "guitars."

20240407_161640.thumb.jpg.902e819d941b2ae8da3cfeb61a84ed02.jpg

A couple more of the guitars - they're camouflaging speakers.

My fried is a Spee fanatic. First place we went was the recently re-opened Cave.

One of the roller coasters is a landmark.

Fabulous weather, slight breeze,  blue skies w/a few wispy clouds. It was a great day for a trip down memory lane.

Fingers crossed 🤞 tomorrow is this nice for the eclipse, but that's not what is forecast.

Vanessa, I am sorry you have to go through so much with the RA.  I guess I should consider myself lucky that it is PMR and hopefully run its course and be over soon.  That is my reasoning for not starting the Kevzara.

I wish you all the best with he medication and the surgery.

Great photos Bruce!  Someone in the red car really likes the American flag, eh?  Hoping you continue to send photos and cruise reports.  Can't blame you for enjoying this fantastic cruise so much.  There would be something wrong with a person who wasn't having a good time.😉

Thank you so much for these fascinating photos!

I'm glad you enjoyed your wonderful cruise Carolyn.  But not surprising you missed seeing the kids and grandkids.  They will enjoy hearing first hand about the many places you saw.  No need to apologize for not keeping up while on your cruise.  There were so many other things to do.

Hope you see Fred and Mitzi soon.  Yes, I bet the tourist were wishing they could sail away with you!  We'll be looking for you!

I made a note of your upcoming birthday and the anniversary of you and your DD DH on the same date so was thinking that was why you're in a funk.  I hope you can come here and let us know how you're feeling anytime.  Tuesday is the birthday of my late friend Bob who passed in February and I was thinking I would talk to his widow Sandy to let her know we haven't forgotten him.  Their anniversary would have been 4/26, too so another sad day for her.  By the way, your DM walking all around IKEA with her walker is amazing!  Let's hope you follow in those footsteps at 97.5.

The car with flags was covered in Malaysia flag. Does look a little like US.
