If it’s less than $25, you must collect it as Guest Services before leaving the ship as they don’t appear to send out checks for less than $25.

which I found out when I left $2.19 in our account ...

wonder where those amounts go to?   yeah, right

In the casino, when you cash out, often they don’t give you the coins unless you ask for it.  All the coins not given to the passengers all add up.

Oh, I’m very certain it goes into the tip account, whatever balance sheet that resides on. 🙄

The amount refunded for the 10 days of internet was $50--at the Elite discount rate of $5 per day back then. I not purchase Plus since I was going with so much OBC to cover my charges. I did pay for the internet ahead of time.

The people who had Plus or Premier received $100 credit for the lousy internet.

Thank you. Princess really needs to add another option to its online post cruise choices.  While these in general seem to be different one off occurances/errors. When one looks at the number of Princess passengers and the percentage of the cruising population that has accounts on Cruise Critic the overall rate of these incidents would appear to be low.

However, the routing of these type errors through customer service, which is handling them quite poorly, should be changed. Princess should have a post cruise folio review option, where one could submit their final bill, along with their questions and any other information, and have it go directly to someone that both understand the accounting practices and has access to the folio record to resolve/explain exactly what is occurring.

If the number of these are small then it would not be a major resource hog. If they are large enough to consume many resources then it would tell them that they have a systemic problem that needs fixing.

In either case the send to CS and the current process is not working.

On Carnival, they say they gather all amounts under $10 and give it to their chosen charity. It's been that way for years.

Princess, I don't know...

Coin stealing had been known pre pandemic in Las Vegas, but soared to a new level during it as coins became temporarily scarce. I assume they haven't gone back to the old ways. ☹️🤑

They usually will mail you a check. Sometimes the return address doesn't say Princess, so open all your junk mail until you get it....

I'm guessing somewhere between 3 and 6 weeks.

Since I just got my check today for a cruise I disembarked on July 20th, I thought I would update how long it took.

2 weeks 4 days.

I think that is the same way with Princess, except for dollar amount, $25.  Pre-Covid I had a credit, thought it was actually more than it was.  Guest Servuces indicated I could donate to charity.   Far better than standing in line, completing paperwork.   Happy to donate.

There were in tikes past you could donate to the crew fund.

Last year we were able to get up to $200.00 cash from reception. But we are from the UK and I think that was easier than sending us a cheque as a USD cheque would be no good to us.

It was really handy as it gave us extra dollars for tips.

Just reposting my post from yesterday as it was at the bottom of the page. Also to add we have been able to take up to $200 of refundable credit out in cash quite a few times since we realised you could do it , so since the pandemic.  We haven't taken any out this year as forces OBC is now non refundable , previously it was refundable.

P.S. just in case anyone didn't understand my first post, although I'm sure you did.

Cheque, UK spelling = Check, US spelling

window envelope?

Bottomline Technologies

for Princess Cruises

no way to discard as 'junk' if you are expecting a refund in the mail?

It is a window envelope.

The return address is:

c/o Bottomline Technologies, Paymode-X

For Princess Cruise Line Ltd

PO BOX 845213

BOSTON MA 02284-5213

So.....you better be reading it closely, or you might miss it.

I 'think' the last time I got a check even though the return address was Bottomline Technologies, there was a colorful "Princess Cruises" in blue printed on the envelope in a larger font.

This time...just in  the text as noted above.

The last 2 cruises we had refundable OBC left over. We never got reimbursed and on one of them I had accounting send me the folio and they erased the refundable and left a 0 balance.

I would say that before 2020 we would get a check in the mail.

Like I stated, for some reason they did some funky book working and zeroed the account out. One of the left-over balances was over $100 and the last one was $15.

So, learning how their bookkeeping is, there will be as close to ZERO as I can get.

You should see a line that says "Referred to Corporate Finance". That is the amount of the check you should have gotten and it is their way of moving money between accounts, ending with a zero balance on your folio. If you didn't get a check or somehow it accidentally got tossed, perhaps you could contact Princess and they will reissue it?

Another wording used other than referred to Corporate Finance is the above. On second from bottom this shows them owing me 739.06 then on bottom line a charge of 739.06, which is really just Princess internal movement over to department that will issue me a check. This balances their books with no real impact on me.

Last December I had a large amount of OBC so I loaded some of the money 2x onto my casino account. I just went to the Casino cashier & I was given the money.

Next month I’m on a 11 day Alaska cruise & I may use the casino account like I did the last time. This way the money is in my pocket & I don’t have to wait for anything from Princess.

I’ll post what happens on my cruise.

We always manage to have their account bill my credit card a few dollars so this way I don't have to wait for a balance to be sent.

It's not hard to do and much safer that way.

We had non refundable and refundable last cruise. The non was automatically used and the refundable came to use as two checks one in each name within two weeks. Always check folio a few times each cruise, morning before we dock is important if you want to be sure it is correct.

I would also suggest doing screen shots, I do this a lot, as a backup if I ever need it.

As I’ve posted getting my $ from the casino recently has worked great & I’m not waiting for a check.

All my OBC is now non refundable so don't have to wait around and hope  for a check to arrive.  .
