AnchorsAweigh2011 Posted December 31, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 31, 2014 My wife and I have enjoyed listening to an a cappella group entertain us on our past cruises. We felt it added a touch of class and ambiance to our cruise. Do you want Celebrity to bring back the a cappella groups on their ships?
Orator Posted December 31, 2014 #2 Share Posted December 31, 2014 Same program on every.S class ship. I know that some miss them, but I don't.
cle-guy Posted December 31, 2014 #3 Share Posted December 31, 2014 nope. That's "Classic Luxury". Celebrity is "Modern Luxury".

BourbonNBluesLuvr Posted December 31, 2014 #5 Share Posted December 31, 2014 (edited) No Thanks. I would however like to see some more solo performers…perhaps acoustic blues/folk/alternative--guitarists/singers. C 2 C Posted December 31, 2014 #6 Share Posted December 31, 2014 The 4 guys were replaced by different entertainers. Two duos or 4 guitarists can entertain more people for longer periods of time than one group. Although many cruisers enjoyed their performance, we like their replacements better and they play more often and in more venues than the former groups. SantaFeFan Posted December 31, 2014 #12 Share Posted December 31, 2014 Although entertaining, these groups are completely forgettable. If an a cappella group is around I'll listen, but I certainly won't go out of my way to find them. I much prefer musicians with a broader set of talents. sloopsailor Posted December 31, 2014 #13 Share Posted December 31, 2014 (edited) I don't miss them at all. If I wanted Celebrity to bring back certain types of musicians, a cappella groups would not be my first choice. They get rather boring after a short time. If a touch of class and ambiance is what I wanted, I would bring back the string quartet that used to play during dinner. They were much classier than a cappella groups. Loophole Posted December 31, 2014 #14 Share Posted December 31, 2014 The a capella group on our Alaska cruise with Celebrity about 15 years ago was the best entertainment on the ship. Once I discovered them I followed them for the rest of the cruise

Agree...on Ref they had a folk guitarist and a duo ....all enjoyable... We would like an island band or steel drum/singer on Carib itins too! Christine Frances Posted December 31, 2014 #19 Share Posted December 31, 2014 No wayOne if the few musical acts I avoid Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app Totally agree! One of the fondest memories I have from our Millie cruise is going to the OV Bar after dinner to listen to the Jazz/Singer/Guitarist under the stars with the wake glowing in the dark. It was magical

Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted December 31, 2014 #25 Share Posted December 31, 2014 A Cappella croups are like clowns: some people like them, some find them creepy. [i don't like clowns either.] I would prefer that they spend that money on either a string trio or a jazz combo. But what they probably did was not spend that money on any other entertainment.
