On my recent B2B2B2B2B2B2B2B all in suites, oh did I say I was D+, nearly pineapple,

Also Executive Platinum on AA and Elite on Celebrity.

Casino Royal VIP and Noir Mlife member.

I am looking forward to some meatloaf.

Oh ok the only one that is NOT true, I added a few extra B2B's

 

Nice to have a new addition

Bring on the MEATLOAF 👍🏻

Obviously my status has no bearing whatsoever, of my love for meatloaf.

I have 3 things to say about this ( just like our last Governor, Rick Perry )

 

1. I love me some meatloaf.

B. Do NOT mess with my Cheesecake Lollipops in the promenade.

3. I forget what C is, but I bet it was going to be informative.

Besides Meatloaf is a soft meat that senior citizens ( like my mother ) can chew.

Meatloaf to many is a comfort food, reminds them of "moms home cooking".....

 

I typically make meatloaf maybe 2x a year just because its not something we really prefer but many do. Its becoming more popular on restaurant menus too...even saw it on some high end restaurants in NYC before..

 

I love my meatloaf, especially cold as a sandwich. I don't think they'll come close to mine if they serve it on Serenade in April. :D

Just back from b2b cruises on the Adventure out of San Juan and found that the "meatloaf" offering at the Windjammer carving station is a new low for RCCL. Roast Beef was offered day 1 only of each week but then the choices varied from lamb, corned beef, jerk pork and turkey loaf.

 

Unlike previous cruises the mini carrot cake cupcakes and mini cheesecakes were repeated every day in the windjammer for dessert with very little variety.

 

We have always enjoyed our cruises with Royal over the years (I believe our total is nearing 35 after those last 2) but we feel like they really do not appreciate our loyalty to the cruise line, taking our business for granted.

 

We boarded with the intentions of booking a next cruise on a transatlantic sailing followed by a med cruise but after day 2 of week 1 we decided to wait and take a look at options after arriving back home.

I love meatloaf.

Will I try the RCI meatloaf...yes.

 

Glad to read that many are agreeing with me about the RCI desserts...I write about this subject and complain to RCI about them as often as I can.

A good mestloaf is better than the cold and dry burgers or Hot Dogs in Windjammer they always serve and most people eat a lot. Even McDonalds burgers taste better.

I just read this out to my husband, who as an expat from the USA to the UK said he would love to have meatloaf and he really hopes they have it on our sailing. I had to disappoint him and tell him they probably wouldn't run it on a cruise out of the UK anyway, but his fingers are crossed! He really misses meatloaf.

With all of RCL cut backs that is why we are doing an AI vacation this year (we are Diamond Members), also I don't eat meatloaf at home let alone having it on a cruise.

I had a terrible experience at that place. Not worth my time. Maybe the meatloaf would've been better than whatever chicken dish I had! ;)

While I also do not like meatloaf (the food or the singer;)) I have a different take on this. Remember when Lobster was the poor man's protein, fed only to prisoners, slaves, and servants or even just ground up for fertilizer. It was called the cockroach of the seas. Now Lobster is somehow gourmet. And remember when Mac 'n Cheese only came out of a box and was the staple of poor students everywhere. Gourmet Mac 'n Cheese was when you put cut up hot dogs in it. Now look at it, fancy and expensive - especially when it is paired with the cockroach of the seas! Perhaps RCCL is trying to lead the way in making meatloaf the new chic gourmet food.

 

For all of you who poo poo RCCL serving meatloaf won't you be embarrassed when, in a year's time, the chic food connoisseurs are ordering Meatloaf instead of Filet Mignon at your favorite steak house. (Tongue firmly planted in cheek ......... and speaking of tongue - RCCL I have a new Windjammer idea for you!)

Maybe Royal Caribbean should have gone with the AKA name for the menu to make it sound fancier.

 

It was on Celebrity in Blu and yes, I agree with you -- a fancier name would have not thrown me off.

 

Overall we love cruising, are totally loyal to Royal (+30 cruises with 9 more booked) and can't wait to board the Independence on Sat. Best part of the food is that we don't have to shop for the groceries, don't have to prepare the meals, don't have to do the clean-up and my DH and I can eat entirely different meals at the same time while sitting at a lovely dressed table just enjoying each other's company.

To me the real low has been the continuous lack of a quality Buffalo Wing on Royal Caribbean and the few attempts and putting that label on some tiny wings. I guess an Anchor Bar franchise on the boardwalk of Harmony isn't going to happen.

How old does one have to be to remember this, 200????:rolleyes:

 

I don't mind mac n cheese at all, but never heard of putting cut up hot dogs in it! Does NOT sound good! :)

Why not? Just because you don't see prime rib, roast, turkey, pork tenderloin, or leg of lamb doesn't mean that it won't be enjoyable. If meatloaf is not your thing.. move on, and pick something else.. after all you ARE in the Windjammer.

 

I'd really hate to be uptight enough where this would really bother me. I LOVE LOVE LOVE shrimp cocktail - but the MDR offering is very hit-or-miss, so I just skip it. I still come home several pounds heavier than when I left.
