Am I missing something? No SUMMIT MARCH cruises?

After taking this year off from Celebrity I was looking for SUMMIT in

either Feb or March of 2017......and after looking at more than 1 website

I see ALL the March sailings on Summit are sold out?:confused:.....

Is that correct? Yes, I know I can call Celebrity to ask but I figured I

would get a more knowledgeable answer on here.

Anyone know? Seems a bit odd that 8 months in advance there are

no sailings:eek:......is the entire month of March chartered?

Yes Charters. We were "bumped off". Not only that there is some speculation that they are chartering again in 2018. Time will tell.

I hope not! I am on (or suppose to be) the March 27th sailing. It's a 5 day out of San Juan.

UPDATE: Just checked and it is still listed. Whew!

I can't sail at the end of the month (work:rolleyes:) so the 27th of

any month won't do it for me. But thanks:)

Thanks for the information.....I guess SUMMIT is just not doing the

sailings I remember from years past. Sometimes that can be a good

thing but sometimes not........(it is not for me).

4th is a Charter so that is out.

11th is a charter so that is out.

I am not looking for a 4 or 5 night cruise.......and I can't sail on the

27th.

I will find something else.

QUESTION: Can Celebrity actually cancel your booking on a cruise without your permission? Or do they apply persuasion to entice you to cancel?

Hi Don....actually, it shows only ONE sailing in Feb....on Feb 18th...

what happened to the rest of the month?

It is just really odd to me and I will have to find something else.

I had booked a Summit cruise for March 2018 while on our previous cruise, with all perks. I already have a contingency cruise picked out in case we are cancelled as well. I will book it on my March 2017 Reflection cruise because Celebrity seems to cancel your cruise pretty far in advance, so I am sure I will know by then. Hopefully we'll get a couple of perks or some decent OBC for booking on board. Not sure I will ever bother to book Summit again, we really like a spring cruise to the Caribbean, after long Chicago winters.

Well Lois, I just checked, and the 2017 (sold out) Smooth Jazz Cruise is Jan 21-28 on Summit. Don't know what's going on in March. Except that, most charters tend to sail (closed loop) out of Florida -- so, they might have to "repo" the ship back to her winter home port (SJ), after each one?? Dunno.

We were one of the March bumped couples too. We ended up changing to a mid-April sailing. For our trouble, we got a whopping $100 OBC for a cruise that was much more expensive. They encouraged everyone to move to the Reflection which although the ship is appealing, the itinerary is not. Now we're stuck with a week that may be rife with kids and extended families. But, the itinerary was too good to miss.

Just did a quick Google search -

Feb 27-March 4 Flower Power Cruise

March 4-11 Soul Train Cruise

March 11-18 9o's Rock n Roll Cruise

March 20-25 - Lifestyle Charter - Clothing Optional

Didn't find anything on the other dates

Thank you for the confirmation that not

ALL the March sailings on Summit are sold out.
That was a scare!

So let me get this straight. I don't mean to sound prudish (OK I don't care if I do) but they really have a cruise with clothing optional? Like all over the ship? Eeeuw. Or is it just at the pool? Still...... I don't want to sit on loungers or chairs previously occupied by all that!

Yes they can and they do! Normally they will offer you some optional dates and some OBC.

For example - we had an Indy cruise booked for last Jan. It got chartered and we were bumped - I noticed it really fast b/c I check prices all the time and did not see our cruise - anyway, they offered us like 3 dates and $100 OBC. BUT it is at the lowest category price you booked. So originally I had booked an E2 but had to take an E3 b/c that was the cheapest. No additional dollars, but you don't necessarily get the same cat you originally booked.

But my sister got bumped off Summit for next March and non of the dates they offered her would work, so they ended up having to cancel and do Adventure instead.

They are all over the ship, nude, but they have to use towels. Only the MDR is clothing required. And if it's one of those Bliss cruises, oh my. They are not only nude, but alternate lifestyle cruises where they have private party room, formerly known as public venues, for all kinds of behaviors.

If you go to "Find your Roll Call" and check Jan., Feb. and March. It shows roll calls on Jan. 31, Feb. 11,18,25 and 27. March shows roll calls for March 11, 16, 20, and 27.

Hi Don:).....I saw them but they are not open any longer on the Celebrity

Website or any other site.......let me clarify.......there is only 1 in January

and it is not the 31st......and the 3 in Feb? Those are not listed either.

I think I saw 1 cruise listed on Jan 9th......almost $1,000 per person for

an oceanview.......

March? I did not find any of them open to the public....one of the websites

shows them all with the words SOLD OUT. I can't sail on the March 27th

so did not look at that one.

I will find another cruise.

We ran into the charter problem for Silhouette in January 2017. Due to schedules at work (several of us work in the schools which can make taking time off a challenge) there was only week we could go. Silhouette would have been doing the Eastern Caribbean that week, which is what we wanted. However, it is chartered. So we are doing the less desirable (to us) Western Caribbean on the Reflection. It seems that Celebrity is doing a lot of charters next year.
