A nice surprise was waiting for us when we returned to our room after dinner (DaveFr, thanks so much for the image-sizing help):137aebfc718f495b62d7bb5d2a9db47a.jpg

Very cool! You can wear yours and I'll wear mine in November:D It is a nice remembrance from both very special cruises.

I was just rolling some change to take to the bank.....made me think....Has anyone been to the casino? Is there one? Haven't heard a thing. I know it's usually forbidden to take photos inside, but was wondering if one existed. If so, John would like to know if there's roulette. I, myself might indulge in penny or nickle slots, so you know what kind of gamblers we are....haha!

Any photos of the extra deep balconies? In the mocked up rooms a few months back, there were L-shaped outdoor sofas in some of the smaller suites. I haven't seen any evidence of those in recent pictures... yet?

I do have a photo of the L-shaped outdoor sofa but it does not really show the entire balcony. Will try to remember to post it.

Linda, there is a casino but we didn't step foot into it (it was super busy with all of the TA's onboard). I like where Regent placed it. When walking from CR to the theater you pass the Explorer Lounge, the Casino and the Boutique.

Photos 47-49 of the USA Today photos (http://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/cruises/2016/07/08/regent-seven-seas-explorer-photos/86798620/) show the casino. There is a roulette table.

A new Regent star is born. Pacific Rim lived up to its advance billing, and more, last night. I'm still thinking this a.m. about the incredibly moist and flavor-packed Miso Black Cod I had for my entree, as well as another main course, the luscious Canadian Lobster Tempura, which I ordered instead as an appetizer (I wound up receiving the entree portion with four big wonderful chunks of lobster, but no complaints)! If it weren't for the fact I want to delve further into the amazing menu on our next visit (PR had several early evening openings available for the rest of the cruise, and we snatched one of them), I wouldn't hesitate to order them again.

About a half hour into the meal, it struck me that every server in Pacific Rim is female. I remarked upon this to Dining Room Manager David as we were walking out, and he smiled, adding, "And did you notice that none of the servers are Asian? We were looking for that contrast, too." (I should add that the Maitre 'D, Maria, is also female.)

We didn't get out of dinner until about 9:15, which gave us just enough time to freshen up in our room and rush down to the Constellation Theater for the first "Regent Seven Seas Cruises Presents" show, "Paradis," described in Passages as a "bawdy burlesque blend of percolating dance, steamy song styling sand audacious costumes set to a heart-throbbing beat." We had been Jean Ann Ryan troupe fans since our first Regent cruise in 2010, but, having read a good deal about NCL shows, we knew we weren't going to be disappointed by the new song/dance team. And we weren't! Strong start for the cast, big applause from the full (at least downstairs) house. I understand that each of the four singers in the cast will be performing solo in one venue or another during the course of the cruise.

We don't dock in Palma de Mallorca until noon today. The "must" of the morning will be the talk by "Maiden Voyage Celebrity Speaker Terry Waite, who will be speaking on "Hostage Taking Today and Survival in Solitude." Waite dedicated a big chunk of his life as a member of the Archbishop of Canterbury's staff to aiding the freeing of hostages in Iran, Libya and Beirut, before he was captured in Beirut and held hostage himself for nearly five years.

Other highlights of the day: Our excursion to "Panoramic Valldemosa" in the afternoon and the "Seven Seas Explorer Grand Deck BBQ" tonight, followed by a guest performance on the Pool Deck by a local flamenco troupe, "Cancons de la Mediterrania." A more immediate highlight: the late sleep Ginny is enjoying this morning as I write this--it has been an amazingly busy and full several days!

I realize that the Explorer G suites are not mainly what Regent CCers are interested in seeing/hearing about, but I'd be grateful if someone is able to post photos of room and bathroom. Or point me to some website that shows such details. I search and search, but find virtually nothing but the most glamorous aspects of the new ship. The few photos I've seen of G (or even F) don't agree on how these suites really look.

I'm happy for all of you who are obviously grooving over your MV. What a thrilling experience that must be! And Mr Rumor, it's very gracious of you to spend time posting.

Is there a Deck BBQ on every cruise, or only on those of a certain length? Are they always on, for example, the fourth night? I don't remember these from my prior cruises but, granted, we haven't cruised since May 2015.

Usually you have to be in port in the evening for the deck bbq to take place, and actually most cruises do not have an evening deck bbq. But they are wonderful.

Rich, I am already planning my meal in the Asian restaurant . The lobster tempura is a must, but I need you to scope out some more dishes for me. I am not a fan of the miso halibut or sea bass on Oceania, so I won't be ordering that dish. It is a texture thing for me.

Also, do they have a selection of interesting teas in the Asian restaurant? That was my favorite thing about the one on Oceania.

All is looking great! Thank you all for the info on the casino. Probably won't use it at all, but it's nice to know it's there, if for some reason I feel like squandering the family fortune...haha! Can someone check out the champagne that served in the lounges? That would be great....and lastly, was there a block party? Love those.....! thank you all...!
