Herb L. Posted June 9, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 9, 2017 I have a booked cruise and wanted to look up my guest confirmation info to see how much is due and there is no place where this info is shown after you log in and no place for you to make a payment if you want to make one. I called RC and they also checked and said i was correct and that they are updating the log in page (the usual answer). When will RC get a decent ITdepartment? Clarea Posted June 9, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 9, 2017 If you booked a cruise using Royal's website, then you should be able to see you outstanding balance and make payments on the website. However, if you booked by phone or by using a travel agent, then you have to contact RC or the agent to make payments.

I booked directly through the website and I was never able to make payments online. Fortunately, I had no issues with their automated payment system over the phone. betmust Posted June 9, 2017 #6 Share Posted June 9, 2017 I booked by phone and when I log in I can go to My cruises and it shows my cruise, what it cost, what I paid and my balance. There is also a place to click on to make a payment..

Rare BillOh Posted June 9, 2017 #8 Share Posted June 9, 2017 My most recent experience with Royals site: I've been watching cabin availability for a Sept Majesty cruise for about a month. Wednesday morning I made another check and picked the cruise date, checked price and cabin availability. All I needed was to hear from my wife and verify she could get the time off. When she called me and verified she got the time off, I went to the website and couldn't get it to pull up that cruise. 10 minutes later via Crown and Anchor phone, I'm on the cruise. Biker19 Posted June 9, 2017 #12 Share Posted June 9, 2017 ^ given other roll outs I would not be surprised to see a delay in proper implementation.
StolidCruiser Posted June 9, 2017 #13 Share Posted June 9, 2017 Peruse other boards where exactly the same claims are made of that line having the "worst" IT/website. According to posters: Carnival - horrendous! MSC - migraine inducing! Celebrity - like a flesh eating disease! I could go on, but you get the idea. tOSUSteve Posted June 9, 2017 #14 Share Posted June 9, 2017 Many times this isn't an IT issue, if the department responsible for it hasn't told IT to make it visible or someone decided no we are not going to do that then IT cant/wont make the change. Would anyone like to start a lottery to select how many "unfair, I'll never sail RCL again, I'm emailing the CEO, RCL will not refund my non-refundable deposit" threads we'll see here on CC in the first 3 months of roll-out? I pick 42. This sounds like a Biker project administration project :p

It's less expensive to buy the software from a company that specializes in cruise ship reservations than to create your own custom software. It's less expensive to buy the software from a company that specializes in cruise ship reservations than to create your own custom software. The underlying software may be the same but lots of details have to be programmed for it to work for each brand - they still need a sizable IT operation for it to work, .Also, some issues which may seem like a fault is done on purpose that way (like the lack of full inventory display).
