I don't flaunt my C&A Status

Recommended Posts

i was thinking of tipping the pool attendant extra on my next cruise so i can have him hold a sign that says "diamond member" with an arrow whenever i'm on the pool deck. Was hoping the new diamond pins for 2018 would have a blinking led lighting it up from the back, too.

lol

I think if I said to St Peter "don't you know who I am?!" He would say YEAH too right I do, that's why you're not coming in!!!

St. Peter doesn't care "who is who" and he's definitely not impressed by "status" claimants. They are left waiting and waiting while warming their 'status heels' ....by the fire... ;)

We tip a couple of bucks in tips each time we order our freebie drinks. They remember you. ;)

Absolutely true. This past cruise on Freedom, as soon as I walked into the Schooner Bar the bartender would ask me if I wanted the usual or something different. They have very good memories.:)

I LOVE being a Diamond Member and I can't wait to be a Diamond+. Pinnacle gives me something to strive for. I don't think that I have ever told anyone that I was Diamond to get something more or to be looked at as some type of superior being. However, I do like the privileges and I worked hard to get every level. I was just as excited when I was Emerald. I think what the OP has ran into is just plain old rude people.

I am really confused by that statement. All I did in order to move up levels was go on cruises and I certainly don't consider that work. What kind if work, exactly, did you do to attain these levels? It still, somewhat, amazes me that folks "strive" to attain a level in a program that could end at any time. I just go on cruises because I like them. Any perks I get are icing on the cake.

During sea days and to 'entertain' Diamond Status passengers, I think RCI ought to consider implementing a mandatory "worshipping" of Diamond passengers. Date/Time/Venue - TBA. - ( Poop deck?) ;)

A guard of honour outside the DL will do lol.

I was thinking the same thing - I've never taken a cruise to just increase any loyalty level, but then I don't cruise for the perks - I cruise for the itinerary and price. I'll be the firs to admit the Diamond lounge is nice, but I would never sail exclusively on RCI because of that.

All this smoking in the girls room in here, yikes.

Look, I think it's a little odd people hang so much on their status. Not everyone, but there are some. I wonder if or how it plays a part in daily life? For me it is nothing. If someone asked me to give 250 facts about myself I don't think my reward level at any hotel, airline, or cruise line would be in there. So, I find that strange for that very small subset.

I don't chase points or perks, but I sure do enjoy the perks. So I want the perks. I've always been honest about the ones I enjoy using. No shame there. If you're not enjoying your perks why would you ever mention your status (I know, dog whistle for "extensive travel; ask me") but still, just saying.

I lost my train of thought or where i was going with this, back soon...

Just off Majesty this morning. We had 2 fake Pinnacles onboard. They actually had name tags that resembled the Pinnacle name tag but was a bit larger. All the staff was focused on was the name tag and they were all over them. They were even invited to the Captains table and received priority treatment going through customs since the port employees thought they were Pinnacle.

Are you aware that there are three generations of Pinnacle badges. There is no way to fake being Pinnacle. Invites etc are based on you the computer/sea pass not a badge that people may or may not wear.

On the other hand..... My first cruise I saw a man push to the front of GS, slam his hand on the desk and shout "This is unacceptable! I'm an American!" He wanted his luggage...now! Haha. As others have said. Rude people are rude people.

The cigar lounge is the Pinnacle only club.

Did you realise that it is no longer the cigar lounge due to Aussie smoking laws. No smoking in the casino either.

last Australian season the cigar lounge was a photo studio. What a waste of a great room. I'm so glad it will actually be used this season. It was empty all the time last year.

I think the work he is referring to is the labor put forth to earn the money so he/she could go on a cruise.....

Yeah, well most of us around here work to make money so we can spend it on things that we either need or that make our lives a bit more enjoyable. What is the big deal?

Maybe we should revert to the old-school tier system of first class, second class & steerage. Everyone would know their place. ;-)

They already have that on some ships for suites , private restaurants, private sun decks some ships they have there own pool and lounges and even beaches, looking forward to beach on Ladabee next month
