Deck 6 Or Deck 8 On The Allure?

Recommended Posts

Still looking to book on the Allure for 2020. Trying to decide what deck to book an ocean view balcony on, Deck 6 or Deck 8. Cabin 6286 is just around the corner from the Boardwalk, with easy access to the Aqua Theater. Cabin 8300 allows easy access to Central Park. Anyone have any experience with these decks, and have an opinion on which to book?

Thanks!

Thanks for the prompt replies :-)

One reason I was looking at Deck 6 is easy access to Johnny Rockets for breakfast, and my wife could get her morning donut at Boardwalk Donuts. Do any of the restaurants on deck 8 do breakfast?

Park Cafe, but they won't have made to order eggs like JR.

We had a room on deck 6, a balcony room. We found it nice as it was quiet at night (for the kids) and still close to a lot of stuff: rock wall, carousel, central park and aqua theatre.

Either is good.

8 would be our preference

We like deck 6. Easiest to do the stairs up or down, since pretty much everything is located between deck 4 and deck 8. Easy to get coffee in the morning at cafe promenade on deck 5.

Deck 6 for sure. It's within 2 decks of the theater, casino, ice rink, MDR, spa, promenade, boardwalk, aqua theater, schooner bar, photo shop, rock climbing wall, running track, jazz club, comedy club, blaze, central park, and dazzles. I don't think any other deck has that many common areas that close.

We prefer Deck 8 close to the aft elevators. Our main reason is that most of our free eating venues are located aft Besides eating in Central Park Cafe we use Central Park to walk back and forth to events forward and aft.

  • 3 weeks later...

Whichever is closer to the venues you frequent most.

I personally prefer higher up as I spend a lot of time on higher deck venues like the DL, WJ, Solarium, etc. I also barely go near the boardwalk.

IMO, this is the type of question only you can answer for yourself.

We booked ocean balcony deck 6 - I was told this was good for less movement. Low and to the center of the ship. I also liked the close proximity to different attractions. One question....how close to a bar for morning bloody mary's or final final in the evenings?

Schooner bar and Sabor bar are both also on deck 6.

We were torn between the 2 also and agree either would do. But DIL and GC decided 6 access to morning donuts made the decision. Agree has easy access to most locations. Just a long elevator ride to pool decks and stuff above. I do prefer lower for movement issues. Would never want a deck 12 cabin. Hope location on 6 means that room service will arrive hotter?

While access criteria from Deck 8 or 6 are somewhat similar...the balcony experience on Deck 8 is nicer on several fronts. While speaking from firsthand bookings on Oasis, Allure, and Harmony...the biggest plus is the views from a higher deck (including further distance from the lifeboats below). If you like the Park Cafe for a quick sandwich or snack...that breaks the tie.

In the end, it really all comes down to you, but I will say this:

Stayed on Deck 6 Allure - 1st time on Oasis call ship

Then Deck 8 for Oasis - 2nd time...

Last Year on Harmony - Deck 10 - All of these cabins were Ocean Balcony rooms...

This summer we are spinning the tables COMPLETELY and doing a Central Park Balcony room on Deck 11... I'm on the fence about this, since I really do love my ocean balcony for sunrise/sunsets...

My favorite cabin was Deck 8 - right outside CP and just lovely to stroll thru, get morning coffee/danish and start the day in the such a beautiful atmosphere. I also found Deck 8 to be very convenient for getting almost anywhere.

I felt NO movement in any of my cabins

I will say, that I found whatever room I had, I was happy, I was ON VACATION!!! :D
