39august Posted June 28, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 28, 2018 I hope not on Equinox! On Silly in Dec. I saw only pink champagne offered. We don't drink pink wine of any sort. Hope for mimosas or regular "champagne" upon boarding July 7.
Gonzo70 Posted June 28, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 28, 2018 In my experience there is complimentary Prosecco or mimosas upon boarding, but not Champagne. Have never seen sparkling rose (pink) available complimentary - in fact rose in general is often somewhat scarce on Celebrity in my experience (my wife loves sparkling rose and sometimes has had difficulty getting it in some venues). Must have been something out of the ordinary if they were using sparkling rose during your previous sailing.
Rare mom says Posted June 28, 2018 #3 Share Posted June 28, 2018 They must have had a supply issue with their regular offering. Which I highly doubt would be champagne - just a cheaper sparkling wine.
WestLakeGirl Posted June 28, 2018 #4 Share Posted June 28, 2018 THe welcome drink has never been champagne. They normally pour sparkling white wine, “Celebrity Vintages”. It wouldn’t be too much of a surpris to see a sparkling rose substitution on occasion.
Rare Lady Arwen Posted June 28, 2018 #5 Share Posted June 28, 2018 Yes, it's just sparkling white wine and yes, the also offer Mimosas and straight up OJ.
wendycook22 Posted June 28, 2018 #6 Share Posted June 28, 2018 I seen them once pour Henkell Rose. Which I enjoyed and wish I could get from the bars...i never asked, but never saw it on a menu. I also typically don't enjoy rose, or blush. I had only seen it once also on the Equinox, last October.
gerelmx Posted June 28, 2018 #7 Share Posted June 28, 2018 Past Eclipse cruise march 18 we have the 3 options, white & rose sparkling plus mimosas
Rare Cruise Junky Posted June 28, 2018 #8 Share Posted June 28, 2018 This might actually be a first for someone to complain about not getting the usual swill upon boarding. And for the record, for true Champagne, the Rose is usually more expensive than the basic brut
sdnich Posted June 28, 2018 #9 Share Posted June 28, 2018 I love a good rose sparkling! On our Alaskan cruise 2016 they had a great rose sparkling from Domain Carneros I believe we drank everything that the Sommelier to get a hold of LOL [emoji38] Sent from my iPhone using Forums
NCHPcruiser Posted June 28, 2018 #10 Share Posted June 28, 2018 Last Saturday, upon boarding the Silhouette, we were offered sparkling rose (not chilled at all) or orange juice.
Princess Fi Posted June 28, 2018 #11 Share Posted June 28, 2018 Both Equinox cruises we were offered white bubbly, rose bubbly and mimosas. Enjoyed the rose bubbly and appreciated the change. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Gonzo70 Posted June 28, 2018 #12 Share Posted June 28, 2018 Nice to hear they are often offering sparkling rose as an option; I had only ever seen white. We have had beverage packages the past couple of cruises so just bypassed the complimentary bubbly as we boarded (as in the past when we did not have packages we appreciated the gesture, but did not find the sparkly they passed out particularly appetizing). Marelaine Posted June 28, 2018 #13 Share Posted June 28, 2018 I've only seen sparkling white wine, mimosas and oj offered on boarding. I know it's not the highest quality wines, but it's still a nice gesture.
Algebralovr Posted June 28, 2018 #14 Share Posted June 28, 2018 I've seen them make the sparkling wine on boarding into a pink by adding a few drops of red wine to the glass before pouring in the sparkling wine. We were on a B2B, and I was chatting with my favorite sommelier while she was pouring. I had wondered how they got the color. I've seen them turn it blue and green as well. It still isn't good sparkling wine.
awhfy Posted June 28, 2018 #15 Share Posted June 28, 2018 We didn’t have mimosas on Eclipse in late November. They were offering brut & hibiscuses (brut with cranberry juice). The hibiscus was ok but I prefer the mimosa Sent from my iPad using Forums
Rare Cruise Raider Posted June 28, 2018 #16 Share Posted June 28, 2018 I used to turn my nose up to any pink wine ... sparkling or still ... But you know, there are some really good ones out there. They are not cheap either. Try Domaine Carneros ... it's excellent! And ... it is PINK!

CHEZMARYLOU Posted June 29, 2018 #19 Share Posted June 29, 2018 It's a nice touch, whether white, pink or somewhere in between. Relax and enjoy it, or move on and order something from your beverage package.
bigbenboys Posted June 29, 2018 #20 Share Posted June 29, 2018 (edited) We boarded Millie March 18, 2018 in Hong Kong and we had pink sparking wine offered. I really did not look to see if there were any other options. Edited June 29, 2018 by bigbenboys adding info
hubofhockey Posted June 29, 2018 #21 Share Posted June 29, 2018 They must have had a supply issue with their regular offering. Which I highly doubt would be champagne - just a cheaper sparkling wine. Because they keep the pink champagne on ice or because they haven't had that spirit here since 1969?

ginak1112 Posted June 29, 2018 #23 Share Posted June 29, 2018 Rose and sparkling rose are very popular now. I have noticed that all the boozy brunches have added it to their offerings.
