Rare *Miss G* Posted August 31, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 31, 2018 I don’t recall ever receiving Food & Wine but I do still get Travel & Leisure.
sail7seas Posted August 31, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted August 31, 2018 You are supposed to only get one and we choose which we want . I don't get either now.
rkacruiser Posted September 1, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 1, 2018 Previously requested Travel & Leisure over Food & Wine. I know that I have received Travel & Leisure, but am not sure if I still am or not. Frankly, I don't care. The magazine is basically nothing more than a glossy advertisement with little useful travel information. I would prefer that the Mariner Society direct whatever they pay for such an amenity to a more useful on-board amenity.
taxmantoo Posted September 1, 2018 #6 Share Posted September 1, 2018 You are supposed to only get one and we choose which we want . I don't get either now. There you go. That may explain why we get both. ;p
DeltaBreeze Posted September 1, 2018 #7 Share Posted September 1, 2018 I found something on the HAL website that indicated an email was sent asking for your choice. I didn't get one. I miss the Food and Wine.

Rare *Miss G* Posted September 1, 2018 #10 Share Posted September 1, 2018 You are supposed to only get one and we choose which we want . I don't get either now. Ohh. Well that explains it. You can have my Travel & Leisure because I would like to switch to Food & Wine. :')

Rare Scrapnana Posted September 1, 2018 #12 Share Posted September 1, 2018 I would prefer that the Mariner Society direct whatever they pay for such an amenity to a more useful on-board amenity. I wonder if the publisher provides the magazines for free??? I have been 4* since May and have not been asked about magazines (not that I really want them anyway). Marianne Posted September 1, 2018 #13 Share Posted September 1, 2018 Haven't rec'd my T&L for some time, several months anyway. I'm a 4 star Mariner. Has this "perk" be discontinued? Marianne
sevenseasnomad Posted September 1, 2018 #14 Share Posted September 1, 2018 I too wondered why I wasn't getting the magazine any longer. On the website, I read that the subscription is good for 1 year only, which is new. Part of cost cutting? Definitely. So, what happens to those of us that earned 4-star Mariner prior to this new rule? Obviously, some of us aren't receiving the magazine any more, regardless of which one we subscribe to. Rare VMax1700 Posted September 1, 2018 #15 Share Posted September 1, 2018 And they are only available to mariners in N. America! Why can't they give an online subscription to European/Asian/Australasian etc Mariners? (if there is an online version!)
Skipper's Mom Posted September 1, 2018 #16 Share Posted September 1, 2018 It may be that you must request the magazine year to year. I know that I did that once. Frankly, neither is worth it to me, even if free. Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Forums mobile app
syesmar Posted September 1, 2018 #17 Share Posted September 1, 2018 On Page 197 of the new 2019-2020 Cruise Atlas, listing Mariner Benefits, ( http://digital.cenveomobile.com/publication/?i=513356# ) it still lists the 2 magazine subscription options without any time frame/expiration. The only notation is that it’s “one per household”. Oddly, MARINER Magazine was left off the list of rewards (guessing a mistaken omission like last year’s missing Deck Plans, perhaps?). :)
colonialinnkeeper Posted September 1, 2018 #18 Share Posted September 1, 2018 We receive Food and Wine in print and Travel and Leisure in email.
Rare POA1 Posted September 1, 2018 #19 Share Posted September 1, 2018 We get it but it typically stops if you don't cruise for a certain period of time.

Rare boards Posted September 1, 2018 #21 Share Posted September 1, 2018 We agree with you on that. The magazine is pretty but really doesn't do anything for us.

Has this "perk" be discontinued?Marianne My question, exactly, Marianne. :) I noticed I have not received an issue for a long time . The years when my DH a nd I did a huge amountg t of travel , I always susbc ribed to T & L and got some useful info reading it. sevenseasnomad Posted September 1, 2018 #23 Share Posted September 1, 2018 We get it but it typically stops if you don't cruise for a certain period of time. Since we've cruised 3-4 times a year for the past 9 years, I don't believe this is the reason we're no longer receiving a subscription.
