Like if I get a drink with the deluxe drink package, I've already paid a tip. Will I get a receipt each time? I'm always bothered by included tips when I'm basically not sure if the person providing the service is aware of the tip already being paid. I've had this with limo drivers to the airport and room service type things before. I wouldn't want to be tipping extra but I do always feel like I should be tipping again at time of service. The servers definitely know the tip is included when they ring you up. They see you have the package. On my cruise 2 weeks ago, I would say 80%+ of the bartenders and servers still handed me a receipt to sign. I think they hope for you to tip again, and I usually do give an extra $1 or so. So yes, the automatic tips show up in the sense that they know you already tipped if you have the package.

I'm also confused about the 18% tip added now. It seems if you book with cruise planner, no 18%, but if you book onboard, 18% is added. 🤔 It is confusing, we booked specialty dinning at full price and got a package, both times it said service charge included. Is the service charge the same as a tip. I just give them $5.00 and hope they are happy.

RickinStl Posted October 24, 2018 #33 Share Posted October 24, 2018 Its simple.. If you feel as though you got exemplary service then leave something extra.. Speaking from a guy that waited tables, bartended, and worked as a casino dealer when I left the Army while going to college.. Anything extra is greatly appreciated
johnjen Posted October 24, 2018 #34 Share Posted October 24, 2018 I just avoid the paid room service thing altogether. If I am getting ready for an early morning excursion I'll just get the free "continental" style room service, cereal, milk, a pastry, juice to avoid the room service fee but I will slip the deliverer of the digs a couple of bob. WeighAnchor Posted October 24, 2018 #36 Share Posted October 24, 2018 It would depend on how much I order. If it was a meal for my wife and I, then no. If I am traveling with friends and family and we have a get-together for for 6 people in one of our staterooms and order a variety of party food; then I probably would give them $5 for having to deal with so many extra items. Tip was already paid for the package yet they still print a receipt for $0 and have you sign it. There was a blank Additional Tip line and Total line. I always put ZERO in both before signing. They even print a receipt for each person in the party, we got four. Edited October 24, 2018 by smithop
