There is some sort of glitch in that what shows as Comic Sans on a large screen device comes out as script on a smaller screen device. Until that glitch is fixed, people posting in Comic Sans can't be read by some people.

If you have a website and want to use Comic Sans, then you have to redefine the fall back to be sans-serif. They're working on it. Once they make the change, everything will be fixed retroactively. DeeniEncinitas Posted October 27, 2018 #83 Share Posted October 27, 2018 For what it is worth IMO, I am a long time HAL cruiser with a Big deal 4 Star Status. I cruise HAL for the ports! BUT........WE WILL BE CRUISING ON OCEANIA AND IT IS FAR MORE SUPERIOR WITH PERKS THAN THE EXTRA $50.00 per person a day for Club Orange !! We get alot more with Oceania for our TA to The Med!! we had to take Oceania for our TA because after our cruise on The Rotterdam doing the Panama Canal HAL has no TA at all. So it was a pleasing that Oceania had one a couple days later in Miami! This cruise is 2020! Denise😊

This was my thought as well. I do think it's an unfortunate choice, even though I recognize the HAL associations with "Orange." Seems to me that "Club Orange" would really sound odd to anybody unfamiliar with HAL history. Quote edit to add I don't know why the quote part comes up twice. This new forum format is challenging me. Ha! Now it's gone again. Edited October 27, 2018 by AncientWanderer
Bill B Posted October 27, 2018 #86 Share Posted October 27, 2018 I haven't read all three pages of this thread, but I would not pay $50 per day for those 'benefits'. As a solo cruiser, $100 per day (double occupancy required) is just... CRAZY!
Bill B Posted October 27, 2018 #87 Share Posted October 27, 2018 Ooops! I see it states a single person travelling alone will be charged $50 per day... still too much!

Rare *Miss G* Posted October 27, 2018 #89 Share Posted October 27, 2018 It will be interesting to see if they actually do. It all sounds rather tacky. Apparently it has worked on Carnival because I see lots of posts about it but I don’t know the details on their program. Something about faster to the fun, which strikes me as a me-me-me thing. Or am I mixing the two up?
Rare puppycanducruise Posted October 27, 2018 #90 Share Posted October 27, 2018 Well, I'm late to this thread. I didn't think a new 'club' would be interesting, guess I was wrong. I think the price is too high for too little return. $100 US per day! (for me and my hubby) I'll pass.

Or am I mixing the two up? Carnival's program includes early access to your cabin, which is generally not ready until about 1:30 along with priority boarding (and other things). Carnival is so heavily geared towards families, I can see why many do it just to be able to drop your carryon and have a place for the kids to nap, if needed. The price is much less on Carnival. They recently increased the price - I think it's around $100 per cabin. I really don't see anything in the Club Orange details that would be worth the price to me, but I'm sure some will find it appealing. I wonder if HAL is shooting itself in the foot with this. Why book a suite, if you can book an inside and still get many of the perks?

I'd have to do the math on each cruise to see if this Club Orange would be worth it. Right now, I'm leaning toward NO.

Bill B Posted October 27, 2018 #94 Share Posted October 27, 2018 I'm thinking it will work. People have shown they are willing to pay thousands of dollars (depending on the length of the cruise) for 'benefits packages' that cost the lines almost nothing to provide. "Because people will pay for it" doesn't explain why it's needed or is a good idea. Can you tell me why it's a good idea without comparing HAL to other lines? Can you tell me why it's a good idea without comparing HAL to other lines? I think having exclusive areas is a step up. I believe HAL will lose business to those lines that do have them and the loss will be in the high-end, high-paying suites passengers. Quite frankly, we do not care for the MDR. We find it too loud and too crowded. A suites dining area could be a significant improvement. Just like formal nights, the days of the "available to every passenger" are soon to be history. Rare Vict0riann Posted October 27, 2018 #98 Share Posted October 27, 2018 (edited) I imagine that "Club Orange" is only going to be on Koningsdam and Nieuw Statendam, The other ships just don't have space to have a dedicated suites dining room. So, HAL can use it to see if it would be worth it financially to steal some space on another ship for the venue. We will be on NS, boarding December 5, and if I can poke my nose into Club Orange, I will try to get a few pictures. I think it doesn't start on the King until December 10. If I can sort out my problems with CC, I will try to post. Edited October 27, 2018 by Vict0riann
RMLincoln Posted October 27, 2018 #99 Share Posted October 27, 2018 If people want to pay it, that will save me money! Just like the people who use the casino, buy the photography packages, art collections, spa passes, etc, etc. They like them, they pay for them, they enjoy them, good for them, and I save money. Our next cruise is a 21 day B2B.... it cost us roughly $4400 for the two of us, with the taxes, and then we get back something like $550 OBC... for a balcony room. We will not be seduced into paying another $2100 to get: Priority Access to: · Check-In - already have as 4* · Guest Services Desk - I stop by the desk maybe twice on a cruise, and I easily find a time when there is nobody there · Specialty Restaurant reservations - we have eaten exactly 3 times in the PG, never had a problem getting a reservation · Tours - Maybe once we have tried to get a tour that was sold out.... · Tenders ashore - last 2 years HAL rescinded the 4* perk because nearly everybody on the ship was · Disembarkation - If you want to get off early sign up for early, I've never seen it "sold out" Amenities: · Private Dining area for breakfast and dinner - interesting but we usually eat in the Lido or in room; so maybe this new option will take some pressure off the Lido? Could be good for all of us · Expanded menu for breakfast and dinner - Like it used to be, huh. Oh well, not paying an extra $100 a day for an expanded menu, there're still plenty of excellent choices for us, more than enough to get fat on. And if we want to eat in a specialty restaurant we can do that for much less than $100. · Expanded room service breakfast menu - Ditto · Concierge hotline - ask the Signature Suite people how this is working for them..... · Welcome aboard sparkling wine - IMHO, swill that's not worth the calories and which I gave up accepting about 5 years ago, so neither of us even drink it for free.. · Premium bathrobes - you may be able to buy one for one day's worth of the upsell · Key card - status! There are always people willing t buy status · Tote bag - to keep all the other overflowing tote bags in my closet company! So if some people want to buy status and help HAL make more money, it'll keep my prices down and not really impact my cruise enjoyment. $100 a day extra for the two of us? Not us, but somebody will.... and maybe it will be good for my bottom line. m--
