Favorite season to cruise

At one time we only cruised in the summer now we prefer to cruise in the winter to get away from cold weather.

What is your favorite cruise time ?

This subject line made me look at when I had cruised - and I realized that of our 7 cruises, 4 were in January and 1 in February! So I guess you could say I prefer winter cruising too...

We usually like going on a cruise in May.

The weather in the Med is usually very nice.

When we lived in NY, we loved to cruise in January and February.  Now that we live in SWFL, we have to change our thinking and plan to get away during the rainy season of the summer months.

We used to splurge on balconies, (Caribbean), and I wanted to avoid blistering hot weather but also chilly temps. We gave up balconies but still cruise between Sept and May, watching prices. I remember one Feb cruise, sitting on the balcony, with jacket on and wrapped in a bath towel! Don't remember what time of day that was.

Most of our cruises have been in Jan/Feb to escape our cold winters.

It all depends on the itinerary- I have friends who love cruising to see the northern lights in winter, but if I'm going to Norway/Iceland then I prefer summer.

England is lovely in the summer.

But for us winter-time is the time not to be in England.

Since we are stuck with a school schedule we have had pretty good luck with late March.  The ships are full and probably qualify for "madhouse" status, but the prices are lower than summer and the tropics are not yet at their peak of sweltering heat.

 

If we were not in that predicament we would want to do early December or any time in January to get out of winter and enjoy off season pricing.

We are with you. Avoid summer for that reason. We normally cruise about April then the week after thanksgiving.

We enjoy taking a Caribbean cruise in the Jan/Feb time frame.
