zeberdee Posted April 17, 2019 #1 Share Posted April 17, 2019 Hi all, we will be Elite on our first Celebrity cruise which we are really looking forward to ☺️ We have read the list given on the Celebrity web site but are there any insider tips you can share with us about the benefits? Thank you in advance
Rare cruisestitch Posted April 17, 2019 #2 Share Posted April 17, 2019 Be sure to read the papers left in your room for all your benefits. If there is no paper in your room, see the Captains Club post or right away.
miched Posted April 17, 2019 #3 Share Posted April 17, 2019 Start drinking at 5 and keep hammering them down during the 2 hours of free drinks. Remember he that drinks the fastest drinks the most. 🤢 If you have a drink pack you can order anything that is on the package and you don’t need to limit yourself to the drinks on the Elite menu. 🤗 happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Thank you in advance Like with RC you will receive a letter left in your cabin explaining all your elite benefits, events and times. There will be no Captains Club HH (only from 5 to 7 PM) on the first evening of your cruise or the evening of the Senior Officers party. There is no dedicated lounge for the Captains Club members like on RC. The CC HH has servers that will walk around serving appetizers. No mini buffet like the DL. We enjoy both the CC and C&A perks and benefits. Edited April 17, 2019 by davekathy
Rare Lady Arwen Posted April 17, 2019 #5 Share Posted April 17, 2019 Utilize the free laundry and pressing offered. Each Elite passenger in the cabin is entitled to this perk, which for us on a two week cruise is very much appreciated. Fill the bag as much as you can (roll!) up to 30 items per bag. Pressing is nice if you have a special outfit that you want to freshen up.
Denny01 Posted April 17, 2019 #6 Share Posted April 17, 2019 They will also have a list of programs for CC/Elite, such as backstage and kitchen tours, Formal Tea time, and a few other items. Keep an eye out for them. Den
Peggy Sue Posted April 17, 2019 #7 Share Posted April 17, 2019 Recently on board for 21 days .. the laundry perk was great! Read the information carefully ... the free laundry perk cannot be used 3 days prior to end of cruise .. so plan accordingly! Having a beverage package, we didn't use the 5-7 cocktails perk, nor did we do any of the special tours, or elegant tea
miched Posted April 18, 2019 #8 Share Posted April 18, 2019 The free laundry on a 7 day cruise or shorter is almost useless. Think about it. You need to turn it in 3 days before the cruise ends so it takes a few days for it to be returned. Unless you take dirty clothes on board to be washed you will still need to take enough clothes for 7 days. To be of any use you would need to turn it in on the morning of the 2nd day so you would get it back on the 5th day. So you could possibly save 2 days of clothes if lucky. I also don’t like the hot glued strips that they use for the laundry tags. They are rather irritating and scratchy. Depending on the garment they will also pull the threads when removing them. Laundry is ok for undies, socks and stuff that isn’t worth much. happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Luvcrusn Posted April 18, 2019 #10 Share Posted April 18, 2019 Remember when using your free WIFI minutes to log out when you finish otherwise your free minutes will continue to run. Also you each get either the free minutes or a 30% discount on an unlimited package. You don't both have to make the same choice. If you decide to take advantage of the 30% discount, it's best to do it before the cruise since the packages are 10% less pre cruise. To do that call the Captains Club at 800-760-0654 and ask them to apply your discount. They can use any OBC you may have that's available in your Cruise Planner if you wish to do so. Thank you in advance We much prefer the Elite cocktail evening to the RC one...more about mixing and socialising than free drinks... It is very easy to forget events as apart from the letter you get on boarding there are no reminders so keep it handy. We love the Elite breakfast which is held in Tuscan. Depending on the number of Elites on board it can be a buffet or a cold plated menu, served with Mimosas, Bellinis and nice coffee. Especially on S class it makes a nice, calm and relaxing start to the day...

katrina915 Posted April 18, 2019 #15 Share Posted April 18, 2019 The elegant tea is nice- I liked the scones. Even if not Elite, a traveling companion can go into the lounge and get free drinks.

The person must be your cabin mate and there is question now as to whether they actually get the drinks or just get admission to the lounge. Waiting to hear from recent travellers. The cabin mate must see the CC host and get their card changed to say Elite so they get access

Laundry is ok for undies, socks and stuff that isn’t worth much. happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅 Not sure of the timing listed here. We’ve turned in our laundry on the 4th day of a 7-day cruise, not the 2nd day, and usually got it back the next day (5th) and the latest on the 6th day. Checked early with steward and that was OK to do. Done it numerous times, but always checked with stewards. There isn’t a requirement that sets the 2nd day as the latest day to hand in laundry. 4th is just fine. If you are worried about getting mixed signals from these posts, ask your steward. And although 7 day cruises is referenced as if laundry shouldn’t be needed, if you are traveling prior to the cruise a number of days and need clothes cleaned, or as in our case, on a B2B, it wasn’t useless at all, very handy. Two 7N B2B’s plus 3 days traveling prior and access to free laundry meant not packing 17-18 days of clothes and we used the laundry service on both legs, and didn’t come home with a ton of laundry! Any lengthy cruises/vacations, we take a max of 10 days of clothes (or enough to get through some portion where laundry isn’t handy) and then clean as needed. That means one medium check-in suitcase and one roll-on between us. Nice. Den
varoo Posted April 18, 2019 #19 Share Posted April 18, 2019 (edited) For the laundry, it appears that some passengers enjoy the challenge of trying to cram all 30 items into one bag. But we are among those who do it the lazy way and use two bags. On a cold weather cruise where we had lots of bulky items, we even used 3 bags. No need to skimp on laundry bags as you can always ask your stateroom attendant for more. We also travel to get to the ports and like to spend some time visiting the embarkation area pre-cruise, so we usually have enough laundry to send a batch out on the second day of the cruise. It comes back on the 3rd or 4th day. Edited April 18, 2019 by varoo

Since the discussion here is about Elite benefits, could you please clarify your post? Are you saying that you’ve been able to give in 2-3 bags at once when the benefit is 1 bag? I’m just not understanding the relevance of the 2-3 bags to the Elite benefit issue. Thanks!

They are saying that instead of rolling and shoving .they use 2 to 3o bags for their 30 items so it is easy to get them in. You write 1 of 2 , 2 of 2 on it..... or 1 of 3 , 2 of 3 and 3 of 3

THAT is the biggest bs ever... either it is 1 bag or it is NOT IF ELITES get that--we are looking fwd to "elite math" I believe the way it is worded on the elite letter, it could be taken to mean up to 30 (sometimes 20) items, not necessarily in one bag. We're good at rolling and stuffing, but if you have heavy bulky items like jeans and sweatshirts, you're not going to get very many into one bag. We have done the 1 of 2, 2 of 2 several times with no problem. I don't think I'd stretch it to 3 bags, however...

You cannot submit 40 items even if they fit into one bag for the Elite Benefit. No BS. The bags are not always the same size.
