The Key disappeared as an option

I think they changed the listed benefits slightly as listed for our Sept cruise on Anthem.

This is the current wording:

• Carry-on bag drop off and delivery to stateroom. Drop-off your carry-on bags in the Main Dining Room until 1:30pm.
• Exclusive welcome lunch in the Main Dining Room featuring the Chops Grille menu. Seating is from 11:30am – 1:30pm.

I thought the carry-on drop off was in a different location. But I know that the welcome lunch was listed as being in Chops or Jamie’s. My guess is that it is selling well and they needed a larger venue for the lunch.

Which begs the question: how many people having exclusive perks makes the perks not be exclusive?

(Reminds me of Lake Woe Begone where all children are above average. 😀)

They also have raised the price back to $24.99/person/day.  I think that that was the original price but it had been discounted to $19.99 (occasionally even less) for quite a while.  The discounts seem to be gone for now but, of course, they may come back at any time.

For my Oct 2020 cruise on the Oasis, it just showed up for the first time actually. On mine it’s a whopping 32pp pd. I got it for my wife and myself but not our kids. I was surprised that you have to pay for kids 6 and over, which I think is a little much. I forgot that my son will ha e just turned 6 by then, but it let me buy them for just the 2 of us anyway. If we’re technically required to buy it for him, what’s going to happen? Will the cancel it, charge for him without telling me, refuse him the benefits? I have no idea.

I bought just to give me the option option in case it sells out, but I’m not sure it’s worth the 450 it costs right now, and it’s definitely not worth the nearly 700 total if we have to add him.

The key us alive, for my Nov cruise on granduer it is still showing at $19.99. Aren't to many perks on a small ship.

Today it opened up on my oct 2020 on oasis at $31.99. Now there is a lot of perks on oasis class ship. But that us also too rich for my blood. I'm gonna wait

I think all quests 6 and over in the same cabin have to order it

I see it for the first time ever at $24.99/person for our May TP sailing from HI to Vancouver. We are sailing on Radiance and don't have many of the larger ship shows or activities. On a 10 night sailing that's an extra $250 per person for "priority boarding," lunch on embarkation day in the MDR from Chops, breakfast on disembarkation day and choose your departure time. I don't see how it's worth it for a smaller ship.

The longer cruise makes it tougher to justify.

Still available for $19.99 on my 12nite Oct2019 Cruise. $24.99 on my five 2020 Cruises. Figure like everything else some ships or sailings priced higher if Popular. Royal will charge what they can get...

That’s what I was saying, it let me book it for just the 2 adults. I currently have it reserved, I’m just not sure what’s going to happen to the reservation. Will they charge him eventually? Will they cancel it? I’m not sure.

It's on my Freedom cruise in July, 2020, but I did the math and it's not worth it for us. We probably wouldn't use the priority hours on attractions, we don't go to a lot of shows.  As far as the luggage drop off, I wouldn't turn over my cameras and computers to  anyone and that's basically what we carry on.

The only thing that is a "perk" that appeals to me is the choice of debarkation on departure day, and I can go without that.

I am really thinking it's not worth the cost. 24.99 per day per person is a lot. When we cruised Carnival we did their faster to the fun and it was 50.00 per stateroom. and it included a lot of the same things as the key.

imagine us, it shows 38.00 for harmony of the seas.

Just got off a 9 day Anthem cruise.  We got The Key at $19.99 pp/pd.  For 5 of us, it was close to $1000.   If you would get the internet anyway, pay the price.  Otherwise, it was totally not worth it.  The extra activity times were very limited and were at bad times, early in the day or at dinner.   The theater seats were far back and off to the side and we disinterested use that perk once.   Embarkation looked really smooth anyway and $1000 for slightly easier debarkation just wasn’t worth it.

The key is showing $37.99 for me (I have suites so I would not buy it anyway, I wasn’t impressed with Chops at all on the Anthem and the other perks are not worth anything near what they are charging).

Also, the deluxe beverage package jumped from $54 to $60 (The $60 price was right after the $18.00 glitch) and now jumped to $65. I am sooooooooo glad they honored the $18.00 price.

The key disappeared on Harmony (nov) as well about the same time this post was started. It was $29.99, but it came back yesterday still at $29.99 The Key was $37.99 back in May when I booked. Since I'm already getting a single voom stream (currently $10 pd) I would consider 2 keys for my wife and I, if it ever drops back to it's original $19.99 but will pass on anything higher. At this point I don't expect it will drop...

It looks like they must be getting people to pay much more than the original $19.99 on Harmony because it's never dropped below $29.99 since May regardless of any sale that was going on (memorial Day 4th of July, etc).

It is not available on our October 2019 Holy Land Cruise , but is available for our 12 night Baltic Cruise Aug 2020. The price Canadian $33.24, which is more than US$19.99. Probably in the US$25/$27. range depending on their conversion rate.
