I wonder if it was worth my time doing a 2022 thread.

@Ginlyn- I have found your information invaluable.  And would love a 2022 version, as I am heading your way in August.

Would love to connect and buy you coffee, beef or take you to dinner for all you have given us in the group!!

Are the Marriott Hotels  nice in Copenhagen

You'll find Marriott Hotel, Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Moxy and AC Hotel - from 2023 you'll also find a Residence Inn in Nordhavn.
The Marriott Hotel is located close to Tivoli and Central Station. The Tribute Portfolio Hotel is in the heart of Copenhagen close to Kongens Nytorv and Nyhavn.
AC and Moxy a bit further from city, however close to train/metro stations.
As Marriott hotels in general - as a local I'm not staying at hotels in Copenhagen that often but I'm finding the Marriott Copenhagen Hotel better that many Marriott hotels but The Socialist (Tribute Portfolio Hotel) a level better.

I have an American Express Benefit I need to use before the end of this year.

So we are considering booking the Villa Copenhagen for a night before a cruise in August 2022.  This would take it to 50% of the price.

They have a good refundable deposit.  Which at this point these are the only type of arrangements we are making due to Covid.

Any thoughts on location of this hotel and/or the hotel itself?

Excellent hotel and good location next to Copenhagen Central Station and opposite Tivoli Garden.  You can safely book at Hotel Villa Copenhagen.

I know it's a ways off and everything changes BUT apparently I will need to be fully vaccinated no more than 12 months before traveling.  So is that 12 months after my J&J April 07, 2021 or can it include my Moderna booster Nov 19, 2021? Will Denmark count my booster as part of the vaccinating process?

I think this is one of those "it's a ways off and we'll know more between now and final payment" situations.  However, I do think that they would go off of the latest shot (think boosters).  Remember, we may be going "Omi-what, oh yea that one that wasn't a big deal, unlike {insert Greek letter} variant" next spring.  I can't imagine them going off the original date without considering boosters.

A lot can happen before spring/summer 2022, but as a starting point, Denmark accepts booster cross-vaccination with either Pfizer or Moderna mRNA vaccine after J&J vaccination.

Anyone know of places to eat around this hotel?

Very open question. Løngangstræde is in the City Centre with many restaurants and curry restaurants are not that common in Copenhagen.

Tivoli Garden has many restaurants ands some close by neighborhoods with some interesting restaurants are Kødbyen (Meatpacking district) and also Refshaleøen.

Here some links with inspiration:

Where to eat in the City Centre

Where to eat in The Meatpacking District

Where to eat in Refshaleøen

Eat and drink in Copenhagen

Let me know if you have something specific in mind.

Good news!! Sounds like the USA is redefining "fully vaccinated" so boosters count. That means my 11.19.21 can be counted in the 12 months

I'm relieved

Danish Viking or Hallasm...

We just found out that Hotel Bethel is already sold out f (sigh) the couple of nights we want to book for August of 2022. There's a few of us that would appreciate your recommendations for hotels in Copenhagen walking distance to a metro station and sights. We are planning on taking the metro from the airport to town.  Then from the hotel to the cruise terminal also using the metro.  Thank you both.

This is a very difficult question as Hotel Berthel is a really good hotel at a reasonable price.  There are many really good hotels in Copenhagen but at a higher price

Here are three similar hotels.

Hotel SKT. Annæ, Sankt Annæ Plads 18-20, Copenhagen 1250

The Square, Rådhuspladsen 14, Copenhagen, 1550

Hotel SP34 by Brøchner Hotels. Sankt Peders Stræde 34, Copenhagen, 1453

Hope there are others coming up with their suggestions.

NB: just note that there is still 3 km (1.5 Miles) from Orientkaj (end  M4 Metro station) and the Cruise terminals at Oceankaj.

Hallasm, thank you so much for the quick response...not sure what time it is in Copenhagen...but thank you.  Yes, duly noted on the distance between Orientkaj end of line and Oceankaj cruise terminal.  * You've actually helped us on the other thread regarding Hotel Bethel...and we will print the metro map you provided.  We look forward to seeing Copenhagen again...it has been many years.

I wouldn't give up on Hotel Bethel. Even if you book something else keep checking back. There may be a cancellation.

Also, if you were using a 3rd party booking site, try checking the hotel directly; they don't always have all of their rooms on 3rd party sites.
