Expedited arrival

Just returned from a cruise on Edge and had Expedited on my boarding pass.

i am not sure how you get that, and I point out they didn’t announce Expedited category to board.

however when we asked someone they personally escorted us to an used door and on we went.

we were in aqua and had 6 plus X cruises and 6 Rccl in the past. 
any thoughts

Port Everglades Terminal 25, which Edge uses, seems to still be in a bit of a learning curve.  My understanding is you receive Expedited Boarding when you checkin on the Celebrity app.  What you are not always told at the terminal is once boarding begins, after the wheelchair assist passengers board, the next class generally called is Concierge (as they have a special lunch in the dining room) and then Aqua Class and do on.  You may get in line to board immediately after the wheelchair assist.  That is the “expedited” part.

They don’t call a group for Expedited Boarding. It’s not Expedited Boarding, it’s Expedited Check-in. By having Expedited Arrival they know you have your online/app check-in 100% complete and you’re ready to board. If you’ve arrived prior to boarding beginning, you would still wait until your group is called.

The wording on the express pass is Expedited Arrival

The app automatically takes a scan but it is only looking for the bottom 2 lines of data. You should see a white box on the screen. If you fit those two lines into that box it should do an automatic scan and then exit the check process for that person. If you check the express pass to see if it has worked. I found every time I got the 2 lines in the box the scan worked well.

 

we are on the Edge just now but I don’t think I noticed a huge difference in the process. I suspect it was because we are in a suite.

Check again--- it's EXPEDITED ARRIVAL, not BOARDING.

We are leaving on the Reflection Friday. I checked in with passport and pictures on the app. About 2 weeks ago, expedited arrival showed up on the express pass, and just as fast went away. We are Elite and Aqua, so should not be too long a wait anywho.

I did not have any problem with the scan, and the two lines were in the box. The words Expedited Arrival doesn't appear however. It's not a big deal since between our loyalty level and cabin category we'll be among the first aboard. Our Xpress passes are there in the app and check in is complete, but I've not yet uploaded our photos. Maybe once I edit to include those it'll show up. If not we'll be an extra 5 minutes to boarding. Either way, it's all good.

You need to add the photos. I did that first.

If you read the FAQ, Expedited Arrival definitely nothing to do with your boarding position. You are bypassing the check in process. Priority boarding has nothing to do with it. Like already mentioned, if you arrive before boarding has started, you still board with your intended group.

I personally believe that they want everyone to go to the counter, so that virus questions can be asked. I don’t think that they just want you just walking on the ship...and I would rather they take all precautions.🛳

Today I updated the X app, added our photos and updated our Xpress pass and it still doesn't show Expedited Arrival. I guess I'll just deal with it taking an extra 2 minutes to board and stop at the desk. Whatever, it's all good.

If you haven't checked in on the web you will be given the option within the App to either scan your passport (actually just scanning the barcode at the bottom of the page) or enter the data manually.    At least for me if I start my checkin online it doesn't show up as an option.

I just got off the phone with Captains Club speaking with the worst, most ill-informed rep at that number I've ever encountered. I explained that DH and I are sailing in a few weeks on Reflection. I had done check in on the app and scanned in our passports, completed the financial info and it showed 100% completion, (also shows online as completed) but shows an arrival time and not Expedited Arrival. We weren't "photo ready" when I did check in (he was sound asleep in bed and I was next to him doing the check in on my tablet), but I later went back and edited the info to include both of our photos. The photos show on the website and the app along with our Xpress passes. They still have an arrival time, not expedited. First the rep told me that as Elite members we are entitled to a boarding luncheon. I informed him he was referring to the Concierge Class luncheon (also for those doing B2B) and we're Aqua Class this trip. He didn't believe me and continued reading the Elite Captains Club benefits (which I'm already very familiar with) until he finished the list. Then he went to ask his supervisor why the luncheon in the MDR wasn't listed for embarkation day. He came back and said I was right. He then told me that the Expedited Arrival would show up on our Xpress passes when I logged onto the website. I told him I was logged on, and it didn't show. He then told me to print it and it would show. I did...it didn't. He went back to his supervisor and came back saying just go when you want, show your Xpress pass on your phone to anyone and you'll be expedited right onto the ship, I'd not have to go to the counter. I asked how I'd get my seapass card since Reflection, not having undergone the Revolution, didn't have the new system of picking up cards in the rooms. I also asked when the additional screening (because of COVID-19) would be done if we didn't go to the counter. Back to the supervisor. When he returned I had already decided that I'd wasted too much time on this, thanked him and hung up.

 

Summation is we'll go when we usually do, go to the desk, show the Xpress pass and get on with our vacation in the usual way!

I went back into all of our Express Check-In for our upcoming B2B2B -   None had the Expedited Arrival on them.   I followed @Gordoncruickshank recommendations and re-scanned our passports.  All I needed to do was click Update Check-In to get to rescan passport.   I believe this is new as I don't recall it being there before.     Instantly Expedited Arrival appeared on our Xpress Passes.  

 

I had to go back in anyway since my credit card had been compromised and they cancelled the card and sent me a new one.   Ugh....

 

Strange thing was that on one of them it said Iain's was incomplete.   I opened it and everything was filled in.   I closed it and the message went away.
