This was in the good old days when one could cash out that OBC in the casino. I did have experience with a suit and a golf shirt at different times , years apart. We ( their Rep and I ) looked on line for similar items and came to a fair price . We received a cheque a few weeks later. It was a fair settlement . LOL-- In my post I did exaggerate about the number of questions they asked .

We've also never had anything ruined when we send underwear and socks to be washed using the loyalty perk. One bag with all darks and one bag with all whites. Spif Barwunkel Posted March 31, 2020 #128 Share Posted March 31, 2020 (edited) I have no cruise or lava cake withdrawal symptoms. On the other hand, my wife is showing signs of abolition. She will exit the bed on the port side and make her way to the dining room, being sure to let the room steward know that she would like the room to be made-up before her return. She calls the room steward, honey. I'm okay with that and it seems the room is indeed tidy and neat when she returns from breakfast. As she gets more into a beautiful day she will occasionally order room service on the balcony porch, making absolutely sure that the waiter knows how much his prompt service is appreciated. She calls the waiter, honey. I'm okay with that because it's great service with a smile. As evening approaches, it's Martini, Old Fashioned, or wine time at her favorite bar. The bartender has gotten to know her well and can tell by the look on her face what she desires. Immediately, her drink of choice is delivered. There is no Martini Flight extravaganza this night. She says, "I am okay with that, honey." Following a delicious meal in the MDR and an entertaining show(s), she returns to the room where the bed is attractively turned down, awaiting her arrival. There are no chocolates on the pillow, by request. She is on a diet. When ready, she gets into bed from the port side. She will not fall asleep for awhile, too busy reading, answering texts and checking out activities for the next day. So you see, no cruise or lava cake withdrawals for me. On the other hand, my wife, well you get the idea....honey. Edited March 31, 2020 by Spif Barwunkel 2
sandycruzr Posted March 31, 2020 Author #129 Share Posted March 31, 2020 I have had nothing but great experiences with the laundry on Celebrity. On the Summit in February I did get an item that definitely did not belong to us. A men’s XL leopard print thong was in with our clean laundry along with a pair of men’s socks:) 🙂 we gave the items back to our cabin steward and explained to him that they did not belong to us. Needless to say, we spent the rest of the cruise speculating about who was missing their leopard thong!! Yes, we are easily amused 😂😂 1

I think an equivalent would be allowing beer & wine sales and no liquor... especially when a single store will sell all of them in most cases. Cheers and bon voyage Virginia allows beer and wine sales through any licensed outlet. Only the state-owned stores sell liquor, and they don't sell beer, and only Virginia wines. One of those things I miss from living in California. 1.75L Ketel One at Costco, and Lagavulin and Trader Joe's...

The liquor stores are owned and operated by the LCBO ( Liquor Control Board of Ontario ) a Crown ( Government of Ontario owned ) Corporation . Thus, an " essential " tax collecting service . Good for Mr. Ford , Premier of Ontario .

TeeRick Posted April 1, 2020 #136 Share Posted April 1, 2020 In PA all liquor stores are controlled by the state. All closed a couple of weeks ago by the governor with almost no warning. If you are out of hard liquor then you are out of luck. Just extended to April 30th. This applies to all online liquor sales and delivery too. We cannot order even wine from other states and get it delivered to our homes. Fortunately just a couple of years ago PA started allowing some (not all) supermarket chains to sell limited beer and wine with restrictions. You can buy no more than two six packs of beer and a couple of bottles of wine if you are lucky enough to live near one of these markets. We have dealt with this archaic set of laws in this state too long. Now with the state shutdown orders in place it is very obvious that our politicians need to modernize quicker and at least allow mail order to our homes. Sitting here next to my DH, a western PA native, I read him your post. He wonders if this shut down applies to beer distributors as well since, according to him, they sell grocery items. At any rate, it sounds terrible!! And I thought the Bible Belt had some antiquated laws! Hang in there 🙃. Beer distributors (which sell whole cases and kegs, and now recently 6-packs), can remain open as a life-sustaining essential business since they sell some food and snacks. We live in a bizarre state!

Please drop off a nice single-malt scotch on your side of the border than turn around and walk away 6 feet. I will pick it up, disinfect the bottle, walk back six feet and wave to you thanks! They just decided yesterday to open for online in-state delivery. Not an April Fool's joke. But a lot of limitations announced. But definitely better than a poke in the eye!
