Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

It is amazing that everything is still impacted by covid with backorders.  Wonder when that will get back to "normal".

It shows how global and complicated supply chains are today.  A company may have 99% of the parts that it needs to build something but that one missing part that they can't get from somewhere else in the world is holding everything up.  I wonder if some of this is still from the Suez canal ship problem rather than from Covid??

Reminds me of the story that no one person knows how to mass produce a pencil.  From growing and harvesting trees, to milling the wood, making the paint, the rubber eraser, the metal band holding the eraser, to all of the transportation and energy needed.  Incredibly complicated for such a simple thing.

And we did a little hike on “the gnome trail”

There are probably 100 gnome villages set up along the trail through the woods.  These are just a few.

It didn’t take long for the three amigos to find what trouble they could get into.  They picked right up, after not being together for 20 months.

Love your granddaughter's shirt..."Ready to Sparkle".  Perfect for the occasion.

Never heard of cotton candy grapes.  Will have to look for them next time I go to produce store or farmers market.

I saw them more in NJ visiting my daughter than here in TX.  Let me know if you come across them.  In NJ they were $4.99 per pound a few years ago.  Never saw grapes at that price.

So our microwave decided it would work but only if you pop open the door with a screwdriver!  The push button broke just as my granddaughter was dying to try the new stuffed  Eggos.  Anyway, she got her Eggos after the screwdriver came out🤪However, Charlie said we had to get a new microwave because he was not going to use the screwdriver, what a killjoy🥴

Hopefully you can get it replaced quickly, our over the range microwave died a week before Xmas, we had to wait until February for a replacement, most appliances are backorder. Fortunately had an old counter one to get us through.

Glad to have you back, this is why I stick mostly to this thread and Bellas.  Just starting to venture back to the main boards a bit with cruising starting again.

Our moving truck shows up tomorrow morning.  It will be nice to get some of our things so that we can start to live a more normal life again, but I'm NOT looking forward to dealing with all of those boxes.  It will still be months though until we can make some of the house changes that we want to make.  I talked to an AV installer about putting speakers in our ceiling and on our patio.  He has 45 Sonos Amps on backorder and isn't expecting them until October.  We went to an appliance store to look at under counter refrigerators.  Very few models even on their show floor as people have bought the demo models off the floor.  The sales lady was hesitant to even give us a delivery date as she said they constantly get pushed further back.  Went to an outdoor kitchen place to talk about getting a kitchen installed.  It's currently taking months to get things delivered.  Wow.

In the meantime, I'm still using a cheap Walmart folding table as a computer desk.  I did get a new toy today...a yoke for Microsoft Flight Simulator.  Unfortunately, the matching throttle/auto pilot is also backordered for months.  At least I can now use the Flight Sim software.  Trying to fly with a keyboard just doesn't work.  I flew around Amelia Island a bit and the realism is amazing, since it's based off satellite images.  I was able to see the roof of our house.

It is great to get all your stuff, but does cause a lot of work.  Almost 4 years later we are now getting rid of stuff we moved and haven't used yet.  Agree on getting work or new things now, amazing how so much is "out of stock".  Besides microwave story above, tried to get a new coffee pot, choice was basic model or one with all the bells and whistles, went cheap for now, hopefully will have more choices when that one goes.

Yesterday when I was about to enter my daughters house a guy drove by ,parked his car and came out .He said to me,”Is your name Lenny ?” He said that he lived around the corner from me and that I knew his next house neighbor and mentioned her name. Why am I posting this to you ?

The neighbor Maxine Citrin was in the same HS graduating class as in BIL ,Carl.

I'll have to ask Carl if he knew her.

And like any responsible grandpa, I told my 6 year old granddaughter, sure you can sit on the roof, as long as you can climb through the sunroof. 😁. This was the result.

I have no idea who a couple of the kids were that piled into the back of my vehicle.

Now I remember why I can't post pictures in here from my phone.  I keep getting an error message: Network Error Try Again".

So here's another attempt from my laptop.  It's a photo of my daughter and son in law and 3 of the 8 cars he owns.  Loves tinkering.  LOL

The slip and slide is at my daughter’s house.

For the gnome villages, I think different people put them up.  I am surprised they don’t get damaged or stolen.  Have seen them there for at least the last couple years.  The grandkids like to make contributions to the displays when we go there.

Reading this makes me feel like the first time I found the hidden gnomes on Oasis. Well before they were place centrally by the Trellis Bar. Looks likes it has been a great couple of days with the kids.

Hotter than Haiti here today. Perfect time to do the final clean up of the fallen trees.  Clean up by the Township doesn’t equate to a perfect job. That being said it only took a few hours. Thankfully it was mainly in the shade with 90F heat.

Piles raked.

Cataract Sharon is back at her home as of last night after dinner. Owen has been watering her garden to keep her physical activity to a minimum. Sharon is feeling much better and is looking forward to her review visit on Thursday.

I love the set up.  I used to mess with the MFS when it first came out.  I have been highly considering getting back into it.  One thing holding me back is a computer.  I’ve been needing to build a new one but components are so hard to get. Graphics cards prices are so high and hard to get.  I mainly want it to get back to Photoshop but a flight simulator would also be cool.

My husband is desperate to get the new Microsoft flt sim. He has the old version but we need to upgrade our home PC before he gets the new version. His job was a world wide Flight planner and he's almost finished an epic round the world flight in real time..

We have fairy villages in our woods.  Children and adults paint little doors which are placed on trees , very cute

I have MS Flighr Simulator. However, I don't have a yoke. I use a joy stick which is more typical of flying an Airbus than a Boeing. I've seen some YouTube guys that have pretty amazing setups. I've heard of a guy that has a 737 cockpit in his garage. Of course, if you heard it in the internet it must be true, righr?
