Speaking of rentals, I had a phone call from my tenant at our shore house. Called in a panic because she couldn't find the can opener. I told her to look in various kitchen drawers as there was definitely was one there, I bought a new one in June. Called back was very rude cursing at me. I called my neighbor who took her one. But Wow! What a meltdown she had over a can opener. Neighbor said she was a total b***** Not renting to her again! Wow...Covid lock up breakdown? 😮 Indeed what a nasty character. Yeah, the neighbor here came to check on the boat and told us she was very, very cheap. The boat is yuck anyway. We are happy with just the kayaks.

Every night! Not conducive to a good night’s sleep. A little thing like grimy corners, mismatched dishes, and sketchy pots and pans will keep me from ever feeling comfortable in a rental. It only happened once, but we left early. Your lake view from the bed would make up for a lot, though. Indeed would never rent this place again. It was actually a last minute replacement. The nicer one we had was cancelled just a few weeks before by the owner (was a really crappy deal, I assume she got a better price from someone!). So being mid summer season AND four weeks rental.....choices were extremely limited for replacement.

She was new to us as the original booked renter had trouble getting off from work since they had returned to their office job. When I suggested she go 3 blocks to buy a can opener and I would reimburse, what she said to me was totally unacceptable. I hope I never hear from her again! When she leaves Saturday, she better leave the house in good condition!!!

I get the many advantages of having a small dog like Bella. Definitely much easier in many ways...food, grooming, even picking up poop. But I'm still a big dog guy. Merlin would be perfect.

Rare bobmacliberty Posted July 29, 2021 #24196 Share Posted July 29, 2021 We tried a new (to us) restaurant last night called Bar Zin. Technically, they call themselves a wine bar. They used to have a large menu but the owner felt that he had strayed from his original vision and went back to a wine focused place that has tapas (menu here). Whatever you call it, it was great. Very nice wine selection plus a full bar and several craft beers on tap. There's also a wine store attached and you can open a bottle from the wine store in the bar for a corkage fee. We started with a charcuterie tray with prosciutto di Parma, genoa salami, brie, and cheddar plus a few misc. spreads and veggies. It was outstanding, but I didn't get a picture. We then ordered a couple of "small" plates. I couldn't resist the mussels (moules) frites. There were at least 20 mussels in the bowl and the truffle aioli on the fries was great. The broth for the mussels was so good that our waitress brought out a bowl of crostinis to dip in the sauce once the mussles were gone. Micheline went for the lamb chop with the cheese polenta. The lamb was cooked perfectly. So tender. I'm not a huge polenta fan unless it's dressed up with something. Same with grits. I think there's a difference in the type of corn used but polenta just seems to be a fancier name for grits. In any case, it was really tasty with cheese. We thought me might be trying another small plate or 2 but we were pretty full at that point. And we had to leave room to try the beignets for dessert. I've had beignets in New Orleans many years ago but Micheline never had. She now knows what she was missing. It's been too long so I can't compare with the New Orleans version but they were outstanding. (Two are missing from the photo...couldn't resist eating before taking the pic). This place is less than 5 minutes from our house and we will definitely be back.

How to tell if it is ready to pick, how to pick it, along with many other things about corn. They must have paid attention, because they were talking about many of the things they learned. It is a really nice program this place does for the young kids, and they have groups going through every half hour. A ride to the corn field in the tractor pulled wagon We passed some bacon along the way Picking corn “the right way” Looks like a good one. And another and another Another wagon load of kids. We cooked the corn they picked, and they did an excellent job. Very delicious We had the other two tonight so our daughter and her husband could celebrate their anniversary. Fourteen years for them today. No worms? I don’t remember ever picking corn that didn’t have a few worms!

Any separation from you will be very hard and painful for me. Remember that before you adopt me. 2. Give me time to understand what you want from me. Please be patient with me. 3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well being. 4. Do not be angry with me for long, and do not lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends and your entertainment. I only have you! 6. Talk to me, even if I do not understand your words, I understand your voice when it is speaking to me. You only have to look at my tail! 7. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it! 8. Before you hit me, remember that I have teeth that could crush the bones in your hand, but I choose not to bite you. (DON'T HIT YOUR DOG!) 9. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I am in pain or sick, or my heart might be getting weak and I cannot tell you. 10 Take care of me when I get old, you too will grow old someday. Go with me on difficult journeys.
