Another fun whiskey tasting at my friends store. This time it was Wilderness Trail from Danville, KY. Cofounders  Shane Baker and Dr. Pat Heist met playing in a rock band. Thinking that music didn't pay the bills, Dr. Heist thought he would make use of is Phd in in Plant Pathology and microbiology. That was the beginning of Wilderness Trail.

 

Two classes mine was the first. Room was packed.

 

Back in 2013 that still and the entire operation was producing about two barrels of bourbon a day. Now it's over 200 barrels per day with more than 100,000 in storage at their rick houses.

 

Green label was my favorite.

 

Could not go wrong with any of these.

 

We tasted 4 offerings including their wonderful Rye. The rye was in my opinion the best of the four. If you like bourbon or rye and see this in the stores try it I think you will like it.

It seems that this has become one of my CA grandson’s favorites, and we will take him anywhere he will eat good.   We don’t want to return him weighing less than we got him. 😂

 

I was being a good role model and ordered Double Fudge Coca Cola Cake for my meal, and I wanted something to drink that would go well with it.   I was surprised to find this on the menu!

 

I don’t remember ever seeing alcohol on any Cracker Barrel menu, but this one in Ohio had several choices.   It actually was not too bad, and was as good as any Jack and Coke I have had.

Here are some corn(for @h20skibum)  and tomatoes pictures I took this morning. The corn was the first 2 ears picked this year. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

First 2 ears this year 🙂  Pardon the picture includes my socks.🤣 

 

 

Tomatoes were picked this morning. I put the stand out front  and the neighbors help themselves. Free !

Here are some Sunflower pictures for @Sunshine3601 I believe I have 4 different kinds, they were in a multi-pack I bought. Some are getting pretty tall while some look like they are going to be the shorter Variety.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

These last two pictures have bumble bees on them, but kind of hard to see since my phone camera sucks!

That is the one we found those at. 
 

We were at the one in Erie on the weekend, and they didn’t have it there.  Of course, PA has too many regulations on who can sell alcohol. More so than Ohio.

Thank you for sharing!    Sunflowers and Daisies are my favorites.    I always like to mix up our sunflowers too but his year Eric picked out a couple different kinds and I feel he planted them too early since they are all done now.    I usually scatter mine out so I always have some blooming during summer months.    Ours were all done a couple weeks ago 😐

Toby is home .She feels fine and has an appointment tomorrow morning with the surgeon.

My daughter who took her for the procedure is sleeping here tonight ,taking her to the doctor tomorrow and will be here for the rest of the day.

My other daughter stayed with me .We decided to watch a movie together .It was a Clint Eastwood directed film and we expected it to be good.We both agreed that it was one of the worst movies we ever saw:15:17 to Paris.

Jim I noticed in the pictures prior to these, that there was a deer standing in front of the cornfield.  Do the deer not bother your corn, like they do go after your hydrangeas?

How very generous for you to share your bounty of corn and tomatoes with your neighbors!
