We don't need both. I thought once a day room cleaning on the Bella cruise was sufficient. Our room steward popped in sometime in the evening to leave a paper compass and a fresh bucket of ice. More than enough towels were left in the morning. Hope you're all enjoying your cruise. I'm sure Chris and Donna love their balcony! 4

New cabinets will be closer to ceiling, we have wooden beams which we definitely will keep. Is pantry staying where it is? You took a picture of the sliders, that wall is that where fridge is going or was that picture just showing the floor tile that was removed. Are you also getting rid of that pony wall? My Wife is is about 5ft tall she hated the pony wall we had in our old kitchen. She could hardly see over it, plus it blocked some of our view looking out to our outside deck. We had a couple walls we had taken down because we wanted the open concept between kitchen and living room area. Lucky for us none of the walls were load bearing, otherwise that would have been a huge added expense. Edited March 28, 2023 by Jimbo

Pantry is staying but will have closed pull out drawers , I preferred the higher counter since I am 6’4” but we will lower them , fridge will be in back next to pantry. Also adding a wine cooler with wine glass storage in what was eat in kitchen, we always eat in dinning room which is other side of kitchen.

Let me make it clear. I would leave tomorrow, and, for the first time, our married son, thinking of his young kids, will leave with us. He knows from my memories of immigration, how hard it is, and, until this new government, he and his wife wouldn't even hear the words "leave Israel". So sad. The biggest issue for DH and me is the health insurance... All his health issues have arised after us being insured for many years, national and private, through his previous place of work. The health insurance [and the SS] is good only if we live in Israel for 181 days in a year... Trying to insure ourselves, at our age, in a new country.... don't see it happening. Our hope is that DS2, with a PhD in law in the next year or so [and DIL with MSW in her resume], will find a position or a grant for continuing to post-doc, and ... remain there ... And we'll travel back and forth to see them 😢. My thoughts and prayers 🙏 are with you and your family Dani. Take care and stay safe. Pauline and I send you and your family our Love. Susan had planned a couple crafts for them to do, when they came back to our house. Painting some clay pots. Some of my old t-shirts worked good to keep paint off of them. The finished products Brilliant, was Susan a teacher? You always seem to have great ideas to keep the G/kids entertained/busy

Sadly, we don't have a Constitution and 2 houses, no "balances" whatsoever, and the newly elected ultra-religious guys (no women in their parties...) already have laws against gays (allowing doctors, inn keepers/hoteliers and business owners, among others, to refrain from "dealing/treating/supplying services" to them...), separate beaches & swimming pools for women and minorities, etc., and I could go on and on. Abolishing the every 4 years elections is in the cards too... We're the only democracy in the ME, and intend to keep it this way. More for our kids and grandkids. @h20skibum + 1, I don't think there is a greater reward than to spend precious time with them. @dani negreanustay safe Dani, i hope cooler heads in power prevail and they walk back from their hardline stance. From a couple of articles in my online newspaper it seems like he is being forced into a climbdown, so the protests and strikes seem to be having an effect. 5

If I were still a homeowner and redoing my kitchen, I would only have slide out drawers, even deep ones for large pots and pans, plus large double width drawers for cutlery. I would also have a faucet installed over the stove. When we sold our houses, both in NY and TX, I was amazed at what I found in back of the lower cabinets; stuff I forgot I had and hardly used because the items weren't visible. Apologies for not keeping up with everyone’s posts. Hopefully will catch up this weekend We didn’t know about Featherdale, or I would have been there. Your birds are a feast for the eyes! I was fascinated by Australia’s animals, but plumb gobsmacked by the birds! I’ve been ill with pneumonia and off the internet. Trying to catch up a little today. But stomach... perhaps not 😲! In all seriousness, I'm glad you are feeling better. dp

Kitchen in our TX house that we sold 5 years ago: We are limited because of the shape of the kitchen, we didn’t think knocking down walls made sense , I would have been happy just getting new cabinets and counters , but wife wanted more , so we will have mostly pull out drawers . We do like our house , it’s one story with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, we totally gutted master bathroom soon after moving 11 years ago . Almost 2300 sq Ft which is fine for two people and one large cat. Also have pool and spa in backyard.
