Next cruise we are taking while here in Southport, NC we will be taking our car 🙂 🙂 . We are going to taking the Fort Fisher Ferry from Southport to Fort Fisher. We are going to the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher  while there.

Then we will travel thru the island to Kure Beach, Wilmington Beach, Carolina Beach, Sea Breeze, Wrightsville Beach, Top Sail Beach, Surf City.

Cost is $7.00 per car one way. We will be driving back home, only taking the ferry the one way. Takes about 25 minutes to get there by ferry, if going by land to the aquarium ir would be an hour and 15 minute drive.

Those are all places I know well!  My parents moved to Leland, NC in 2005 and my DH and I are currently building our retirement home there too.  I went to the aquarium last Christmas and noticed Ft. Fisher was having some work done to it so hopefully it is completed by now.  A fun day for you!

Looks like Leland is just outside of Wilmington, NC and really has shown a lot of growth in the last 10 years, population has doubled in that time span.

We are kind of looking for something more laid backed, thought Southport was that place but there is a lot of growth happening there to even in the last 3 years that we have been going there.

Seems nothing can hide from expanding can it?

Seems like reward days down here are adding up faster then back home though. Still here 8 more days to go.

We’re also doing the b2b Norway and the Med on Anthem this July.  Yes, it will be hot, but it’s hot in SC then too.  We’re spending a couple of days in Portsmouth before since Dave is a big naval history buff. He was excited to learn we would be close to where the battle of Trafalgar was fought while we’re in the Med. We did an eastern Mediterranean cruise in 2013 and spent several days in Rome before.

Looks like we may be on that same Norway sailing.  Unfortunately. We fly home at the end of thst cruise.

I know we have a lot of Seinfeld lovers on this thread so I thought I would share.  I saw a clip this morning of an interview with Jerry Seinfeld by Rich Eisen where Jerry explains some unknown facts about the famous "Marine Biologist" episode.  He said that he came up with the idea to connect Kramer's golf ball with the distressed whale at 2 am prior to filming day.  Before that, the distressed whale and Kramer hitting golf balls into the ocean were just two separate story lines in the episode.

George's speech .. "The sea was angry that day my friends..." was also written at 2am the night before and Jason Alexander was given 30 minutes to memorize 2 1/2 pages of new script before shooting (and 100% nailed it).

To top it all off, they needed to get approval from Titleist right before the episode in order for Kramer to be able ask if the ball George found in the whales blow hole was "a Titleist."  by name.

I found the story fascinating so I thought I would share with fellow Seinfeld enthusiasts.

Starts at 2:05.

Checked 8 bags at registration. TSA Cares agent escorted us through security. Gate checked the wheelchair and medical cart with eight carry-ons! Made our 6:30 AM flight on Southwest to Las Vegas via Nashville. Let the trip begin!

Arrived in LAS and collected our luggage. Took about 45 minutes to get an accessible taxi to our hotel. Do not believe what they tell you! I had to call a taxi myself even though the taxi attendant told me he called one for us. Plus, the HA pickup location was put right next to the SMOKING section! Gawrsh...poor planning there! Our taxi was a side-ramp Toyota Sienna. We fit 3 people plus ALL of our luggage in the one vehicle! Our driver was, like me, a JENGA master! 😄

We stayed at The Jockey Club which is sandwiched between the Bellagio and Cosmopolitan hotels. We loved it! One large bedroom, a dining room, kitchen, living room... but conversely a teeny-tiny bathroom! We were able to get a bath chair that fit half-in and half-out of the tub for Phoebe! No view at all, but for the location and price we were happy campers! Plus everyone at this hotel was extremely friendly and helpful!

We were only a 5 minute walk to Caesar's Palace so we took our time for a little sight-seeing along the way. It was a gorgeous afternoon! Dinner reservations were for 4:45 PM which was our only option other than really late.

Hell's Kitchen? Hell, yeah! We were as excited to try Gordon Ramsay's food as we were to see my long lost Aunt Judy and cousins Tonda and Mindy. Unfortunately my other cousin Tammi and her husband had to opt out last minute but we will make it a point to do this again! Maybe even in Florida!

Yes, the food was delicious! I think we tried a little of everything on the menu, family-style sharing! We had not eaten anything all day (other than the pretzels on the plane)... but were stuffed by the end of the sticky toffee pudding!😋

I was able to make it down to the garden today before the rain comes the next couple days.  I noticed the garlic is producing scapes.  This usually happens 2 to 3 weeks before garlic is ready harvest.

The larger tomatoes are starting.  I am guessing 3 to 4 weeks and we will be back to eating tomato and bacon sandwiches!

Delicious tomatoes.....

Pepper plants doing good.  I have lost 1 out of 28 pepper plants.

And I think I mentioned starting some tomato seeds to early.  I had to put some in grow bags.   Here is an example.   The are taking off.

What a great looking bunch going off to create memories of a lifetime.

But 20 years from now, they are going to have a good laugh at how they looked. Especially, Disco Boy. ☺️

My buyers of course dont remember my schedule and said the co signer hadnt applied yet, asked for 10 days, went into title company and told them 30. I said no if you dont close by may 30 I'm done, I'll call one of those cash buyers always hounding me to sell. Here I was ready to move, called movers, had tags on stuff not to neve, and he has been busy and didnt do anything.

So I'm here in san antonio at my friends house. Its gorgeous though it's been a rainy day. We ate mexican some place good and she picked out a  movie with a Louisiana storm and hungry alligators. Lol. Seriously that's how it was advertised. Only 2 people got out alive.  Going to riverwalk tomorrow unless it rains worse. Rainy all day here and coolish. We have one more friend from 50 years ago living amelia island florida so she can come visit us both.

They did 2 cruises, this spring a river cruise in florida on American cruises. She doesnt live more than 100 people on her cruises. I took her in a suite once on royal and fancy suite hotel and she wasnt impressed, not her thing. They took american cruises to alaska too and loved it.

They sold off the rest of their acerage but kept 2 acres and a enormous house. Some random pictures, dont want to post when we have time together but I did make it here. We have all been friends since I was about 23. She and i hiked to the bottom of the grand Canyon, she came to visit me in hawaii, we went out west camping in national parks. Hard to believe 50 years.

Double oh, no! Is anyone able to see my pictures? I posted from my Google photos online. Made collages of most pictures to cut down on size but (of course) I can see them all fine.
