I think that if a war starts in the north, this will be the first time I'll be trying to run for our lives, assuming there will be flights, either to our son in Holland (our in laws are thinking along those lines too, so it might be a bit crowded...) or to my cousin in Germany...😢😢 Dani, I know I have said before, but you are in my thoughts, and I say a prayer for you and your family. I hope this nightmare is over for you soon. 7

Maybe someday they all go to Cedar Point together! Here's a pic of them from Father's day. Finnley is about Kenzie's size! Finnley is 22 months, Kenzie 23 months older! Crazy What a great looking family, John. I could not imagine trying to keep up with that many. The three grandkids I have wear me out sometimes. Haven’t even thought about Cedar Point. It has been years since I have been there.
Rare h20skibum Posted July 3 #124753 Share Posted July 3 I have been trying to get caught up, after our busy day. I may have a couple photos to post later. I think I mentioned that Susan and I work funeral dinners for our church. We received some sad news yesterday that one of the young men in our church was killed Sunday night when his motorcycle struck a car that pulled out in front of him. He graduated with my son and son-in-law. He leaves behind three young boys. Our daughter will watch our CA grandson on Friday afternoon and evening, while we work that dinner. It will be a sad evening. It is hard when they are so young. 14

I hope that you do not have to relocate but I’m glad that your son moved to Holland when he did so it gives you that option. Since I must assume the therapist is not a masochist I’m assuming he’s helping me. However, I lumbered in on my boot…and when I got home I couldn’t walk…back to the wheelchair. I’m hoping this will get better either by this evening or at least tomorrow. But to put it in perspective…this is a temporary, solvable issue. Sorry to read you're in so much pain from ankle surgery I also am finding my ankle is getting more and more painful. I have self diagnosed (sorry @Ocean Boy) arthritis and should really go see my Dr to see if anything can be done. It's low level pain which comes and goes but is worse after long walks in the woods. I also think I'm getting arthritis in my fingers, they are getting nobbley snd painful to squeeze shut. Does anyone know if there's any self help I can do, vitamins? Exercises? Diet changes?

Rare h20skibum Posted July 3 #124761 Share Posted July 3 Yesterday, we gave our grandson a few choices of activities for the day. It was nice that he wanted to go for a hike, although it may have been a little longer than he expected. Covered 5.6 miles. A few photos from the hike. Found a snapping turtle. Some other turtles would get close, then back off. I kind of like how this butterfly photo turned out We also encountered a few deer on our hike. This buck still has velvet on his antlers. We could actually get pretty close to them. How close? What, you are walking away from me? 22
Rare h20skibum Posted July 3 #124762 Share Posted July 3 After hiking, we stopped for a snack. I was really tempted to add to my duck collection when I saw this. Instead, this was the choice of the day. I kept looking at these, and it looked like they have gotten smaller, as well as more expensive.

Try rosemary oil on your hands. It does work for some people. Do not pet your cat immediately after. 1

derorim Posted July 3 #124765 Share Posted July 3 I appreciate all the kind thoughts expressed here following our loss of Marcel. I've always had cats, but we've decided Marcel would be the last one. So now, I get to look forward to George @George C getting two new kittens, and reading about and seeing pictures of everyone else's cats and dogs. Keep them coming! 😻 🐶

They obviously were all together with their red backpacks, etc. As a New Yorker, I will say that as a young teenager, I did go up inside the Statue of Liberty, but I didn't go to the Empire State Building until Jim and I got engaged back in 1970, even though I had worked downtown, as well as midtown. As an adult, I did finally go to Ellis Island. Jim and I have never been to the 911 Museum, he hadn't been ready for a very long time, having spent a week at Ground Zero in search and recovery at that time. He's probably ready now. Having been to San Francisco two times, I have been to Alcatraz, and even met a man who had been an inmate and wrote a book about it, which I bought, and he signed for me. I went back into Ghirardelli two or three times to get a free sample of their delicious chocolate! We ate at Fisherman's Wharf and in China town. We stayed for 3 days and 2 nights and saw everything possible in the time we spent there. We then traveled all along Highway 1(?), stopping for 2 or 3 nights in different cities before ending our trip in San Diego. Best road trip of my life. California is a beautiful and awesome State!! I don't know who is the red group. Only know they are Latinos. Saw a German group few days ago with yellow backpacks. NYC is a popular young people's destination as there are many free places to visit like Central Park and Time Square and Staten Island Ferry to see the Statue from a distance without paying a dime. 9/11 Memorial is worth seeing for the historical significance. All exhibits are build underground. They don't allow photos in 80% of the places so not too much to share but you can see the damages from the attack: Here are pictures from the 2 pools where the twin tower used to be. The north one is under maintenance so no water right now. The twin tower has special significance to me as I was up one of the towers observation deck in 1999 with my parents and my sister visiting NYC then and did the tourist thing to go up there. Surreal to see just an empty space now... 12

I think I packed it away somewhere, or Susan disposed of it.

Those that are wanting to visit NYC, it’s only a 2 hour train ride from here. Boston only an hour away. And to think I was in your neighborhood this past weekend. Well, close by. Mohegan Sun Casino. Of course, my idea of serving drinks is opening a bottle of wine or can of beer. Maybe Vodka & Cran if I'm feeling adventurous. A few pics. Mohegan is a beautiful casino . Everyone's favorite Heidi 😍 when she was done clapping, the win was around $100. That's my idea of a big win. 😁 Monday was just too nice of a day to be inside so took a little road trip to watch the ferries. Obligatory lighthouse picture. Anybody care to guess where?
