Thank you, Lenny and I expect great news regarding Maya. Hopefully, by tomorrow you will know when her MRI will be rescheduled.

I hope by now Toby was able to get some pain relief.

Today was unbelievable. My daughter,Mallory’s mom called the doctor who authorized the MRI.She said she did everything right and it was the fault of the insurance company. When my daughter called there she was told that Mallory has to take a Sonogram before they can authorize the MRI .An appointment was made for Thursday at 8AM .My daughter and her husband requested the day off.

Shortly thereafter the Facility called and changed the appointment to Friday at 8AM and they changed their days off.Well, the facility changed it back to Thursday.

My entire immediate family pulled out our hair today.Mallory is even more scared because of having to take the 2 tests.

So sorry for your family Lenny.

Prayers 🙏 that the MRI is finally arranged and Mallory has a good result.

I also hope Toby recovers quickly too.

Graham.

Toby is going to the surgeons office tomorrow morning.Mallory now has to have a Sonogram before the insurance company will allow the MRI.Even if my daughter and son in law wanted to pay for it up front they facility will not do it.

Poor patients, he's squeamish about blood. They would have to be picking him up off the floor.

Happy Early Birthday

Well, I haven’t talked about this, because I was hoping for good news.
My routine blood work showed moderate anemia, so I was sent for a endoscopy and colonoscopy. Had them September 30.
I was told immediately that I had a 4cm growth.

My previous colonoscopy in 2016 showed not even a polyp!

It took till today to get the biopsy results.
Definitely cancer.
I had already made an appointment with the surgeon who removed my hemorrhoids. (Don’t ever go through that if you can avoid it!)

I see him Wednesday, and he’ll probably order a CAT scan to start with.
I’m being referred to MD Anderson for after the surgery.
I was prepared for bad news, but hoping for good.
Now I will be praying to get past this, whatever it takes.
I’m going to really be mad if it affects my March Harmony cruise or my August Allure cruise.
Mimi, who has a lot of life yet to live.

I truly hope it is not cancer,Mimi .

Can those of you that have taken a rccl cruise recently comment on what the mask experience is?  Also, if passengers can actually sit at the bar now?  Thanks!

The bars I have been in people haven’t been able to sit in the seats. I think this is for all the bars. For the mask experience sometimes I don’t even notice it and sometimes I want it off when I can’t. You can take it off while eating and drinking, but must wear it while walking around. There are certain venues where you can take them off. Poor crew have to wear them while working on Coco Cay even out in the fresh air. 😥

I think it is supposed to be fun and not damaging? :classic_tongue::classic_smile: We haven't tried it yet.

Ask if the facility can provide a child life specialist. They are trained to help and advocate for kids and their families as they navigate medical procedures. Mallory might have some stress and fear lessened by a child life specialists skilled techniques as they will acknowledge fear, explain procedures and help with coping mechanisms.

Request an IMR-Independent Medical Review. The information should be in the denial letter from the insurance company. But you should fill it out now and take the sonogram. And tell Mallory it is not a big deal.

You are probably freaking her out.

It sometimes seems like insurance companies just want to add to the cost of treatment. But I don't want to carry on that conversation.

I'm so sorry about the bad news Mimi. And I so hope that things go well for you.

Good luck with Toby's appointment.

There was some good advice posted in here

I can't believe what your family has to go through to get one MRI appointment.  I never once had to take a sonogram before an MRI was approved.  Maybe insurance approval changed?  My last MRI was approx. 4 years ago.  Not sure what the issue is with them switching appointment dates back and forth.  I sincerely hope it all works out very soon for Mallory.

Operation air condition and heat pump the garage is now under way. All three bays are getting units run off a base station, similar to what they use in the Caribbean. Should be done tomorrow.  We are keeping the eclectic heater as a back up.

There's a big push over here to have heat pumps replace old gas boilers for environmental reasons . Unfortunately we only replaced our gas boiler just over a year ago when we remodelled our kitchen

Malta was the main draw (as was for Sue - @sgmn).

Santorini and Katakolon will be repeats.

Santorini -- we were lucky last time to be on the 1st speed boat to Oia, had the place to ourselves when it was still not so warm, but when we arrived at Thira at ~1pm, the place was "mobbed" -- the line to the cable car down was huge, and we feared not to make it in time back to ship, gave up Thira and stood in line for 2 hours !!!

This time our time in port will be much longer (until 10PM), so, hopefully, we'll see Thira and even have a nice souvlaki/giro meal there 😉

 😁

Last time we were in Santorini there were four or five cruise ships in the bay. Oia was absolutely rammed. Similarly the queue for the cable car was very long. We had a meal near the steps and decided to give it a go.  They weren't too bad and I've got a weak knee . Not steep at all, though you have to dodge the donkeys

Looks like a couple shared birthdays with mine.  I always like this TSOTD for March.

A heat pump won’t keep up with our cold Canadian Winters (-10-20C), but it will keep up with deal with the reasonable cold weather.  I’m curious to see how my upcoming hydro bill compares after this winter.  Did it work well at your place?
