The bars I have been in people haven’t been able to sit in the seats. I think this is for all the bars. For the mask experience sometimes I don’t even notice it and sometimes I want it off when I can’t. You can take it off while eating and drinking, but must wear it while walking around. There are certain venues where you can take them off. Poor crew have to wear them while working on Coco Cay even out in the fresh air. 😥

Thanks for sharing.  Will probably stick with celebrity for now.

Poor patients, he's squeamish about blood. They would have to be picking him up off the floor.

Well, I'm sure all the passengers on the plane will be very reassured when I get on the PA system and inform them how fortunate they are to have today's flight crew as I have hundreds of hours of training in the comfort of my den on Microsoft Flight Simulator. Now, sit back, relax, and enjoy the flight.

Well, I haven’t talked about this, because I was hoping for good news.
My routine blood work showed moderate anemia, so I was sent for a endoscopy and colonoscopy. Had them September 30.
I was told immediately that I had a 4cm growth.

My previous colonoscopy in 2016 showed not even a polyp!

It took till today to get the biopsy results.
Definitely cancer.
I had already made an appointment with the surgeon who removed my hemorrhoids. (Don’t ever go through that if you can avoid it!)

I see him Wednesday, and he’ll probably order a CAT scan to start with.
I’m being referred to MD Anderson for after the surgery.
I was prepared for bad news, but hoping for good.
Now I will be praying to get past this, whatever it takes.
I’m going to really be mad if it affects my March Harmony cruise or my August Allure cruise.
Mimi, who has a lot of life yet to live.

Oh that's terrible!  I am so sorry to hear that Mimi.   Hoping that it was caught in time and you make a full and quick recovery.  Heart goes out to you.

Ok. Just when you think nothing more could happen!

HA!

Did you ever try to go to the bank with 150 new mostly sequential $100 dollar bills?

So today. Post cruise. Casual clothes. No makeup. Walked into my bank. None of my regular tellers there.

So I go up to the window and put my bank card in then entered my pin.
The teller goes. How can I help you.

I go I want to make a deposit.

She goes. How much.

I go $15,000

She goes can I have your drivers license.
Gave it to her.

So teller, bank card, drivers license, and $$$ go for a walk to a man in suit behind desk.

A few minutes later. Man in suit and teller bringing up the rear come to there side of window.

Now teller who must of been prompted goes.

Thats a lot of cash.

I go I know that’s why I want to deposit.

She  goes in a moment.
First we need to fill out a form.

Man in suit leaves.

Now I am supply all the info know they already know.
name

address

social security number

Then it gets interesting.

She goes employment.

I go retired.

Off she goes. With her hands full of all my cards and $$ again

Man in suit and her converse.
Make phone call.  Police???  Don’t know.

Teller comes back.

I go I was on a cruise. Won the money.
would  you like to see the W2 or picture?

Asked for both

Next thing you know she congratulates me puts money in counter.
Then deposits it.

I got my receipt.

Teller goes.
The branch manager would like a few minutes of your time.

Now what.

I go over and he tries to sell me a CD.

I sad no thank you and went kn my merry way.

It is what it is.

Sea ya

Worked in the banking business for several years.  Anything over 10 K in cash deposit has to go through the procedures, as government requirement.

In hind sight...may have been better to split it up in 2-3 deposits....but at least you don't have to carry the cash around any longer.  😉

We would love to get back to the Greek islands, one of the best cruises we ever did was 20 years ago on Renaissance from Athens to Rome , loved that line small ships all non smoking and adults only , they went bankrupt shortly after 9/11.

We sailed Venice to Athens on Renaissance. It really was a wonderful cruise line.

I think it is supposed to be fun and not damaging? :classic_tongue::classic_smile: We haven't tried it yet.

My poor neighbor used to love to play pickle ball.  She was quite good at it.  Unfortunately she took a nasty fall moving backwards too fast.  Cracked her skull open.  She had surgery, but the poor thing lady has never been the same.  So sad.

My community had a vote to pay for and add four new pickle ball courts, since the tennis players were tired of them taking up the tennis courts for the game.  We voted it down, then the ones who brought it to vote...brought it up again 6 months later.  It passed by a slim margin.

Indeed there must be something in the quick movement, we have had several injuries on those courts.  I don't play...(bum shoulder) but there are a lot of community members that love it.  It's very popular now I guess.

So Sunday, we had our grandkids for half a day.   Took them to breakfast and back to our place so they could play with some of our toys and games. Grandson had a cold last week, so I asked him if he was better.  He said YES.  Then I asked granddaughter, and she says “I am sick!”

I think, surely her mom wouldn’t let us take a sick kid, knowing we are leaving for our cruise this week.

Monday morning we get a call from daughter. She is sick with a cold, as well as granddaughter.  So now, we have been doing every kind of preventative maintenance (zicam, rum & cokes, fireball, steaming in the hot tub), and hoping symptoms don’t show up.

This morning, son-in-law woke up with his symptoms.  If we get through another day, we hope to have missed getting it.  They say 1 to 3 days after exposure for symptoms to appear.

Back to my preventative maintenance.

Today was unbelievable. My daughter,Mallory’s mom called the doctor who authorized the MRI.She said she did everything right and it was the fault of the insurance company. When my daughter called there she was told that Mallory has to take a Sonogram before they can authorize the MRI .An appointment was made for Thursday at 8AM .My daughter and her husband requested the day off.

Shortly thereafter the Facility called and changed the appointment to Friday at 8AM and they changed their days off.Well, the facility changed it back to Thursday.

My entire immediate family pulled out our hair today.Mallory is even more scared because of having to take the 2 tests.

This is becoming torture for all of you. There is no excuse for the gross ineptitude!

I’m so sorry for Mallory, and everyone who loves her. I hope someone on the doctor’s staff takes the reins and cuts through this tangle.
🙏🙏🙏

@jagsfansorry to hear your diagnosis.  Looks like you will be getting good care, and it is good to keep a positive attitude.

Sorry to hear your mam's memory was recently.

My mam's 10th memory is on November 2nd.

I truly hope it is not cancer,Mimi .

Biopsy report says cancer, so no way out of it. I just have to remember it’s nothing new, only my knowledge of it!

I’ll do everything I’m supposed to, and expect to be able to make next year’s cruises.

Request an IMR-Independent Medical Review. The information should be in the denial letter from the insurance company. But you should fill it out now and take the sonogram. And tell Mallory it is not a big deal.

You are probably freaking her out.

It sometimes seems like insurance companies just want to add to the cost of treatment. But I don't want to carry on that conversation.

I'm so sorry about the bad news Mimi. And I so hope that things go well for you.

I’m hopeful I’ll get through it and it will be in my rear view mirror when I board Harmony in March.

I sure hope all your preventive maintenance worked. We should all be able to happily anticipate our cruises and not have to be anxious about looking sick at check in.

Glad we didn’t have any problems like @Lionesss😂😂

As long as you deposited less than $10k, there is no reporting required.  Any amount above that requires reporting under the Currency and Foreign Transaction Reporting Act.  Best to call the bank and make an appointment if coming in with a large deposit.

I'm so sorry to hear this.  As I'm sure you know, MD Anderson is one of the best cancer centers in the country.  You will be in great hands.  One of the best "weapons" that you can have is a positive attitude.  It's not always easy, but I'm convinced that it helps both mentally and physically.  When Micheline was going through her treatment, we filled the house with uplifting signs and embroidered pillows. Things like "She thought she could, and so she did", "Don't look back, you're not going that way", "Life is a beautiful ride", etc.  She even had a fridge magnet that had @Lionesss's now famous quote "it is what it is".  The idea was to surround her with positivity.  I'm sure it helped.  I agreed with OB...we're all hoping for the best and are here to provide our thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for the positive thoughts. I will surround myself with all things hopeful. I told our children it’s nothing new, it’s just that we just found out about it. My daughter invited me to lunch today. I told her only if we’re going to talk about their last trip.
I’m going to try to get her to V’s Pizza because Pear and Gorgonzola is back for a week. Since her husband has his own wood fired pizza oven, they don’t eat pizza out often. I think this one is worth it!

Ask if the facility can provide a child life specialist. They are trained to help and advocate for kids and their families as they navigate medical procedures. Mallory might have some stress and fear lessened by a child life specialists skilled techniques as they will acknowledge fear, explain procedures and help with coping mechanisms.

Thank you for the suggestion.

Good luck with Toby's appointment.

There was some good advice posted in here

I can't believe what your family has to go through to get one MRI appointment.  I never once had to take a sonogram before an MRI was approved.  Maybe insurance approval changed?  My last MRI was approx. 4 years ago.  Not sure what the issue is with them switching appointment dates back and forth.  I sincerely hope it all works out very soon for Mallory.

Some good news.Toby just called me from the parking area .The surgeon said everything is fine. She has no physical restrictions .She is starting physical therapy this afternoon ,twice a week for 4 weeks .

I want to thank you and everyone else for their prayers and well wishes.
