Layers, lots of layers. That being said Kudos to you for actually doing it.

I’ve said it many times, I’ll take a blizzard over a hurricane.  My friends in Houston say the opposite.

Tornadoes are the worst.

And I've been in all 3

Joplin, Missouri - tornado

Northern Virginia - blizzard

Cocoa Beach - hurricane

And I forgot flooding and Ice Storms

Chilly in NW… is that 40F?😉😁

It is 37F right now and that is at least 30 degrees cooler then I would like.  Tomorrow morning it will be 28F and I have to work at the refuge.  I am already planning how many layers I will need.

You must be further inland than me.  I’m a couple of miles from the beach.

I often view Jordan Bauth's videos and was sorry to see she got covid.  For those who aren't aware, she's a figure skater on Adventure of the Seas and showcased in the video posted in here.

I enjoy seeing a glimpse of how the entertainment staff lives on board.

I think her next contract will be somewhere in Europe which she hinted at a few videos ago.  She's tremendously talented.  I'm sure by now she's fine.

Unless she was too sick to ask for water, and didn't think of it, I don't understand the medical facility not supplying any.

Well, yeah, 45F currently, but will be 33F tonight.   Like I said, chilly.😉. I’ve had my share of -25C when visiting my family on Cape Breton Island in February 🥶🥶🥶

Jacksonville is supposed to get down to 32 tonight and a high of low 50’s tomorrow. For  us, winter is here, for this week. We don’t need snow to feel it!
As for the rest of you guys laughing at us,  when we’re cold, it doesn’t matter that it’s not below freezing!

Good morning.

It is 33°F and sunny here at 09.28am.

There is a covering of frost on the car windscreen and road so I will not go out for a while.

I hope everyone has a lovely day.

Take care.

Graham.

Yesterday, we spent our day walking around Savannah.  We got to River Street around 10am, and the place was nearly empty.

At least the sky was blue, and no sign of snow here.

I felt like I was back on the ship, with a mandatory mask mandate.

Today, we plan to travel as far as North Carolina, or about a 5 hour drive to our favorite hotel.

I say it is part of my plan to slowly get acclimated to colder weather.  50’s yesterday, 30’s today, and single digits when we get home on Wednesday.

That is good news.  We are supposed to leave is just less than 3 weeks.  I am so desperate to go away that I am ok with the mask policy.  Sounds like my DH is ok with it too, he mentioned that we will be coming home the day of the super bowl.

I still need to book the airfare and decide which day to fly down.  My dog is doing well but I still hate to leave him due to his anxiety.  The lab gets pretty sad too.  My niece will be staying here and both dogs see her at the office so I know they will be happy to have her here with them.

Where are you going?

I wish you a safe and wonderful journey.

Pretty cold here and still another two months of winter to go . In normal years we would have a break somewhere warm to look forward to in the winter.

We had a lovely walk yesterday along the Thames path towards Henley-on-Thames

The Omni is a nice resort with a lot to do, including very nice beach and pool areas.  Might not be worth it for one night though.  There are two Hamptons on the island.  One is on Sadler Road about the middle of the island, close to Sliders.  The other is in the historic downtown Fernandina Beach area on the marsh side of the island.  If you want to be close to the beach, chose the Sadler Road location and eat at Sliders.  If you want to be closer to more restaurants, bars, shopping, etc., chose the downtown location.  We've stayed at both and they are your typical Hampton Inns.  Click here for a recent YT video showing some of the downtown sights.  For one night, I'd chose the downtown location.

Thanks for the additional details!  We spent one night in Amelia about 4 or 5 years ago but it was a quick overnight on our way to Disney.  My oldest DD’s in-laws have a place there and offered us the use of it (they were in PA at that time).  We arrived early evening & went into town but most of the shops were closed.  It may have been the Salty Pelican we ate at.  We left early the next morning so didn’t get to see much at all.  If I remember correctly, their place is somehow associated with the Omni?  Anyway, this time we plan to have a full day there after a short drive from Savannah, then continue on to Ft Lauderdale the next morning.

Beautiful photos.  We have a beach holiday booked for the end of the month.  Have our fingers and toes crossed that none of us gets Covid before we are due to leave and that the rain holds off.  It’s been a very wet summer here so far.  Pouring today and rain forecast for the rest of the week. Thanks for the recommendation of The Tourist.  2 episodes left to watch and really enjoying it.

It was 30F at 6:30 this morning when I took Oliver for his walk.  It was chilly with some frost on the roofs, cars and pool umbrellas.  Even Oliver didn’t want slow down and watch the squirrels in the trees.  LOL.  We should get in the mid 50’s today.  I still prefer this weather than the summer in the upper 90’s with 99% humidity.
