Crap, just noticed that I have to update my signature.... do I try to remember to do it every week, or just wait until December and update the whole thing then?

Just wait, we get the picture.

Yankees blow it !  Cleveland up 2 games to 1................. Yankees Could be sent packing tomorrow night.

Can't say I'm shocked.  The Yankee bullpen is depleted due to injuries. Allowed 3 runs before getting 3 outs.

Good thing there are 2 more games to play.

Thank you, Patti.  It sure wasn't the adventure we planned on when first boarded the Adventure!!  Jim is feeling better, he's not in the awful pain he was in prior to his surgery,  We are so happy to be home.🥰

So glad to hear Jim is feeling better!

Any comments about Adventure?  We just booked a cruise on Adventure out of Galveston in Feb.

For @Ocean Boy

A different kind of Lighthouse.  This one is in the Hudson River, just north of Hyde Park, home to FDR, the Vanderbilts and a few other Gilded Age old money millionaires, about 100 miles north of NYC.  There is a state park with hiking trails, abandoned mansions, etc.

Can't see it? Let me zoom in a bit.  Those are the Catskill mountains in the background, not clouds.

One of the mansions being restored to become a museum.

@ReneeFLL Enjoying your TR and look forward to following along.  I would have reached out to you before now if I was able to meet up with you on the 29th.  And I see from your TR you are in Sydney after NZ, we are away interstate on those dates.  I do hope you have a great time in Sydney & New Zealand.

Houston just scored

Trying to remember, it was a home run if I’m correct.  Dusty is seems so calm just sitting there through the game.

Yes.  I wanted to see this series go the distance.  The fans of Seattle might have only got one home game this fall, but it was practically 2 for all that watched it. Emotionally it could have felt like the final game of the World Series for them.

Bases loaded walk off, bringing in two runs. Amazing finish to the game, unless you are cheering for the Yankees. Let’s see what happens tonight. 🤞

I'm sitting on lounge chair with a 1 liter bottle of smart water while he is mowing and mulching up some leaves.  Almost feels like I'm on a cruise😁

I hope you, Sharon and your friends have a great time.    Glad you were able to get your reservations done and enjoy nice lunch at Giovannis.

Are you going to check out West Deck Restaurant in Aruba for dinner and sunset?

How are you doing this morning.   Glad to hear you're hitting the water.

We are doing great.   We ate at Chops last night.  We enjoyed a comedy show too.

Looks like we will skip West Deck.  Trying to take full advantage of the UDP.  We will take the public bus to Eagle Beach. ⛱️

It's good you are able to get around.   It would be terrible if you were restricted to bed.

Got to think though MLB Executives wants that series to go 5  games. Just so TV can get higher ratings. Expect to see some calls to go the Yankees way to assure there is a Game 5.

Right now the final 3 cities are Houston, San Diego  and Philadelphia. Got to know they want a large city(NYC) in the final four, not Cleveland.

MLB can't be happy losing LA and the Mets as it is, to lose the Yankees this early would really be bad.

And here I was thinking Crystal ( @singinalot) was kidding... didn't know "gator" meat is edible 😕

@xpcdoojk, JC, just curious, did you visit Bucharest or other parts of Romania on this occasion?

... "Reminds me of our first river cruise, sailing from Romania."  ....

Of course.   Bucharest was where we flew into for a 2 or 3 night pre-cruise.  We walked all over the city ate and drank all of our meals for the time there during our wandering around.  Surrendered our passports one day in order to go into the Parliment building the departed dictator had tastes to match his power.  Quite the monument on a hill he built before it all fell apart.  We were it the old quarter the morning before our departure having lunch and a nice glass of local wine, when armored vehicles and police/soldiers in black started deploying all over town.  We were sitting outside in the October sunshine when I saw the first.  They were very orderly as they deployed men and women everywhere.  The wait staff seemed to not notice or be concerned so we acted accordingly.  After lunch we walked back to our Hilton to get our stuff and take the bus ride to the river.  It was the next day I figured out what was going on…. Hungary was in town for a soccer match…. This was 2014.  I had to count back trips.  😆

Unfortunately, we didn’t go to Transylvania.  Once we sailed we only got off the ship in the countries to the south.

It was a fascinating cruise, as we sailed east it seemed that the countries became richer and more expensive.  We stayed in a very nice hotel in Bucharest for less than a $100 a night, including an amazing breakfast and daily cocktails, to the hotel in Buda Pest a Marriott from the socialist times, with a good breakfast for $199 a night, and finally the Grand Hyatt in Vienna at about $800 a night.

I wanted to share what Sharon brought this time.  It is a great organizer.   It is held up by magnets.

It's surprising just magnets are holding up all that weight? They must be very strong.

My goodness, I sorry to read about your adventures but so happy that things went as good as they could go. Not exactly the visit to Canada you expected but glad my fellow “brothers and sisters” took great care of you both.

Thank you, Andrew.   The people in Halifax are wonderful.  Truly wonderful 🥰

@Luckynana I'm so sorry that you and hubby had to cut your cruise short and deal with all of that hassle!  Glad to hear that the medical folks on the ship and in Canada took good care of him!

Thank you so much.  We couldn't ask for better care!😘

It's doing fine.  We have used them before but not in this capacity.   You can see there are 4 at the top 2 towards the bottom and a random one that is holding my hat.

Thanks you, Bonnie 🥰

The employees on Adventure are wonderful!   The ship is a little older..our room was pretty aged .. there was duct tape on the track of the sliding door which made it chilly heading North...lol!  I'm sure our room was the exception, rather than the norm.  Our cabin Steward was awesome. We had MTD which wasn't as bad as I'd read about.  There were long lines, but they moved quickly enough.  We had 7pm reservations and by arriving 15 minutes early, got us to our table at 7:00.  I'd like to say the food was great, but.....food is subjective, as we all know😉

Up until Jim's health issues, we had a very nice time.  Would I go on Adventure again?  Well, we'll be on her sister ship, Liberty, so the answer is yes, we would.❣️

I know you and Jack will have a good time on her! 😊

Hello my dear friends.  Jim and I got home Thursday evening from Halifax.  I've been too exhausted to read  any posts, or write until this evening.  I know the last time I'd posted was after having our lobster roll in Bar Harbor.  The next day we were in Portland and had a much better lobstah roll, along with excellent chowda.  That evening after having dinner in the Dining room, Jim started to feel uncomfortable.  We went back to the room and he just couldn't get comfortable....by 2:00 a.m., he said he had to go to Medical, since he was in too much pain.  The Doctor did some bloodwork and put him on an IV to hydrate him, and gave him some pain medicine.   We were scheduled to be in St. John in the morning, and the doctor advised us to get off the ship and go to the hospital there, so around 4:30 am I went to our room and packed everything up.  Jim came back upstairs around 6:30 and said we're to be back at Medical for 8:00 debarkation.  The Paramedics came on board and took Jim and I to the hospital.  Several tests were performed, and the Doctor felt it was Jim's Gallbladder.  The Doctor said it should come out.  Jim wanted to get back on the ship and thought he'd get it taken care of once the cruise was over, so we got back onto the ship.  Bad idea, since the next day we were at Sea, he wound up in the Infirmary hooked up to another IV.  Halifax was our next stop, and it became our home for the next week.   That was last Thursday.  Jim was taken to the ER and by evening was finally admitted.  Emergency surgery was performed early Friday morning.  Excellent care was given to Jim while there.

Oh my! Just catching up on all this now.  So VERY sorry to hear about everything that happened during the cruise. Makes my minor bout with covid by the end of the cruise look rather insignificant in comparison. Hope Jim is doing well now? It's hard to keep up with this thread since it moves so quickly. I only stop in here from time to time and am typically like at least 10 pages behind!

So sorry you had to go through all that. What an experience for sure.

I’m just getting caught up from yesterday.
@Luckynana Maryann I’m so sorry about Jim’s gallbladder issue.  Certainly not the trip you expecting!  It sounds like he received great medical care and I’m glad he’s feeling better.  Looks like you need to book another cruise to make up for this one 😉!
