@h20skibum  Happy birthday to your crew too!🎂

@Momof3gurlz  That looks like a good alternative and will keep Andy busy for a few, I think. 😆

@Luckynana  Congrats to your Ryan!  So nice to see you and Jim and your smiling, proud faces!🙂

Happy Birthday, OB @Ocean Boy

@h20skibum

@Luckynana, Maryann, your grandchildren are just amazing with all their achievements.  I see Ava as a lovely young lady.  Jack and Ryan as fine young men.

@Momof3gurlz, Deb, I love the idea of the overhang in your backyard for the BBQ setup.  So great that Handy Andy will be able to put it together.

@aussielozzie18

My mom celebrated her 96th birthday Sunday 5/28.  We all celebrated with her with all her children and grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Wow!  Thank you so much!  Tonight is Ava's Awards night.  She graduates next Monday.

What a Blessing to still have your Mom!!!!   96!!!  God Bless her!   Wonderful also that she was surrounded by 3 Generations of a loving family.💞

Mine is the same length and style now.  Does that mean I am still young at heart?

I know, having a lot of hair is a rarity for an old guy, my age.

From age 27 to 40 I had shoulder length hair and a beard to match.I still have my hair .All of my male friends are either bald or have bald spots. My beard is still fairly long.I posted pictures on CC of my bearded days and I have a picture currently on a thread in the Floataway Lounge from about 40 years ago.

This was the first thing I thought of too.  Jefferson Airplane was the first big concert I attended.  I saw them later when they change their name to Jefferson Starship. Great memories!

Happy Birthday to your daughter and SIL.

I saw Jefferson Airplane for the first time in 1970.I think I have every LP they ever released .

Congratulations to Ryan on a great accomplishment.  I love his hair.

Andrew is looking good for his band concert.   I am sometimes surprised how good some of them sound.

Thanks Mark!

What it means is that they want me to sit and watch tv for 3 hours on top of my 30 minutes for Jeopardy. That’s insane!

If I record anything on tv, I never get around to watching it. Woe is me!!

But think of all of the ads you get to see.

I still have my beard, but I don’t let it grow to ZZ Top length. Usually keep it trimmed to a half inch or less.

By the way, last Monday was 56 years since they released the Sgt. Peppers Album.

My beard at its longest was longer than the ZZ Top guys.Occasionally I have my barber trim it close to the face. When I was young my beard was reddish brown. Now it is Santa Claus White and I hate that.If you like the Beatles check out Mitch Weissman on You Tube.He played Paul McCartney in Beatlemania on YouTube.

I worked with his father many years.

That is how I feel when some channels show movies and insert enough commercials to stretch a 1.5 - 2 hr movie into 3 hrs. I don't bother watching as sitting still that long does not work for me.

It was August 1972 when I saw them at the Akron Rubber Bowl.  I will always be able to know the date because Grace Slick was arrested after the concert and so it is easy to find stories about it.

Orchids are easy to grow if you know a few things about them. Most of them, depending on which type, like to dry out a little between watering. Most people want to water them like a house plant which isn’t what they need. It causes the roots to rot.

Thanks.

Thanks glad you liked them.

Help please!  My nickname is plant killer so I am thrilled that I have not killed my orchid yet. It bloomed and I cut the stems back to a node.  Now one stem has what looks like leaves coming out and the other has what looks like another stem maybe coming out?  What do I do?  Also, the roots don't look to huge so do I need to try to repot it yet?

Thank you very much... LOVE the video card!!!!!!😆😆😆

I'm glad.  I could have personalized more but I don't know your first name.

I understand the desire for privacy in your field though.  Hopefully we get to cruise together some time.

Our friends we visited in Boynton Beach before the Bella cruise, have an overhang against their house that they screened in on all 3 sides and can be raised and lowered automatically with the touch of a button.  Comes in handy at dusk when the mosquitos/buggies are out.  I noticed that the majority of houses I saw in Florida do have a screened room.

We don't have a cage/screen around our lanai/pool.  We said that we'd see how buggy it gets before deciding to add one.  It really hasn't been a problem for us.  We have friends in the Ponte Vedra Beach area (southeast of Jacksonville) who installed a natural bug repellent system.  They have little sprayers attached to their house gutter and their backyard fence.  They spray some sort of flower based oils twice a day and it does a fantastic job of keeping the bugs away.  They sit on their lanai with no screen and never have a problem, even though they have a wooded area behind their house.

We are in the 32nd floor.  Last time we were here, we were on the 35th floor and our view was of the Bellagio.  We could watch the fountain shows from there.  Just couldn’t hear the music.

There were some really big fluffy clouds out the window on the plane but I was sitting on the wrong side so I couldn’t take a picture for you.

But here are some nice ones for you.

Are you there for gambling or the Carpenter’s Legacy show? Or both lol.  That’s a show I’d really love to see.
Also belated 96th birthday wishes to your Mom. It sounds like she had a great celebration.

So finally some pictures of the kitchen island project.  First, the before photos, including blue tape we used as a guide for the placement of the new island.  You can see it’s not only an unusual shape, but very oddly placed and not at all practical for cooking due to the distance from the sink and stove.

The placement also meant the kitchen table had to be pushed too close to the far wall to allow for any type of China cabinet or hutch. (Old photo from last Christmas)

This is the new island. Much larger, more functional and so much more storage. It also allows the table and chairs to be centered and room for a hutch.

There’s still some discoloration in the hardwoods from the old island but that will eventually darken. I absolutely love the two deep drawers for all my pots and pans.
