It was a long day today between the hospital and office but it is over now.

 

I don't think the picture needs any explanation for the thread family...

Deb, we are here for shows/concert, not gambling.  The main reason being for the Bruno Mars concert, Other shows are Jabbawockeez, the high-energy music and dance group and Rich Little, the comedian and impressionist.  And of course, the Carpenters Legacy show.  I love the Carpenters.  Karen Carpenter was the reason why  I wanted to sing and play the drums at the same time, just like her.

There’s still some discoloration in the hardwoods from the old island but that will eventually darken. I absolutely love the two deep drawers for all my pots and pans.  

Beautiful and so much more functional.  I love that the island has seating on two sides.  The hutch adds such a lovely country charm to the kitchen.

Enjoy your stay in Vegas!  I love the Carpenters music and think Karen had one of the purest voices I've ever heard.  

 

Before he retired, Jack's business took him to Vegas annually for trade shows and of course I tagged along.  Loved every minute of that town.

Mostly good news today from the vet surgeon regarding our new puppy Alfie.  Surgery not recommended as she has adjusted well to the pains she is likely feeling from the massive amount of arthritis in her young hips and a knee that goes out and pops back in on its own - both due to some trauma she received some time ago.  This agrees with my observations - she is full of the joy of life.

 

We are to keep an eye on her and if the limp worsens or she is in obvious pain, return her to the doc.

 

This morning she had to fast, those puppy eyes seemed to say "HOW COULD YOU?" as I fed our cat and elderly dog before off to work, Karen took her to the vet.  I don't think its been more than a year that we bought the sofa below, that has turned into Alfie's bedroom.

Owen’s Rugby season has now come to and end.  
 

For @Tree_skier and others interested they are undefeated in regular play and won all tournaments.  It’s nice to see the season come to an end with the game today even though we have enjoyed it. The first game was just over freezing and today it was in the 90s.  Tomorrow we are gone for a baseball tournament.  Thankfully school ends in 3 weeks for him. 
 

As for today, they won 38-0.  Owen got 2 tries and made 3 conversions for a total of 16 points. He was also the player of the game. Owen’s conversions and one try are in this video. At 45 seconds in you will see a running play where one player throw the ball to Owen and he takes off for the try.

I'm lacking in social skills & etiquette. Happy Birthday to @Ocean Boy and all the family members of fellow CC posters. I feel the need to buy some Kraken for the weekend. 

 

@Luckynana, your granddaughter is beautiful & her dress in not only prom worthy but Taylor Swift concert worthy. 🙂

 

All the home update pictures look amazing & safe travels to those that are traveling.

Nice, thanks for sharing that.  I hope he sticks with the game, he seems to be a real talent. 'd be remiss though if I didn't give some accolades to the big forward who offloaded in the tackle to set up Owen's try.   That was pretty good awareness on his part.

Beautiful and well done. I believe the kitchen is the most important room in a house and the area where guests will spend the most amount of time. You have a great wide area for entertaining which makes it perfect.

That’s impressive that they won all tournaments.  Congratulations to the team & Owen especially to Owen for being player of the game.

 

I remember those wild changes in temps across the season for soccer.

My DS has swapped soccer & cricket for hiking in Canada.  This week they came across their first mama bear.  The cubs were nearby but his hiking group didn’t spot them.

 

They were doing a long hike on a popular trail.  Later on, on the same trail they saw a ranger with a tranquilliser gun.  Is that something they do in Canada - move bears away from popular hikes - if they see them early in the season?
