Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

So quick question for my casino inclined friends here.  We’re currently on Radiance.  Because we had a skipped port and a cancelled excursion we have a $200 credit currently in the last day.  The TA we had used when booking a couple years ago had a $300 cash back promotion where i get $300 back to my credit card - but ONLY if i have that amount charged on my account.

I was thinking .. can I charge $500 from a casino machine to the room without a fee and cash out quickly?  I would then have $300 of charges on my account to turn in for the reimbursement after the cruise.  Does this work??

Theoretically that should work but I think you may be charged a fee for using your seapass for cash out unless you are a casino prime or higher member.    Also, I think (may be wrong on this one) that you will need to play a couple of cheap spins on the slot machine before you do a cash out option and take your ticket to the casino cashier for your cash.

Sitting here in fear of yet another tornado watch/severe Tstorms/hail until 10:30pm Central time.  30 more minutes to go.  This makes 3x in one week and that's 3x too much. I invited 2 single neighbors to come join me and Jack earlier for a bit but they've been in Texas for over 30 years and are used to this severe weather.  Jack and I are here in TX 19-1/2 years and we will never get used to it.  Never!

@sgmn Sue, Your pictures are gorgeous. Great place to babysit.

@singinalot Crystal, please keep those pictures coming and continue to have a great time.

@lenquixote66 Lenny good luck with your poem

Jack fell asleep and I'm going to calm my nerves with ice cream.  Great excuse, right?

Thanks,Bonnie.

Apparently, we are moving from Sydney in 5 years.  DH told me that once we are empty nesters, he wants to sell up and move…plenty of discussions to be had before that happens.

If you don't mind me asking, where does he want to move to?

You enjoy sitting on laps, playing with pipe cleaners, and climbing up on our dresser to admire yourself in the mirror.

But you have the most fun setting off house alarm.

You make our life a complete family.

Here’s to many more.

Happy Birthday to adorable mischievous Lizzy!!

I gave it a shot… i charged $500 to the room on video blackjack and played for awhile with it.  Got it up to $510 🙂  No issue at cash out and onboard account doesn’t show any fees.

Used my $5 casino promo and turned that into $20 on blackjack.  😀

I am sorry you are going through this.  I hope you & your home are ok.  You deserve ice-cream.

Everything is fine!  No hail damage.  No rain/extreme storms at least for the next 10 days, low 90s.

Truth be told, I'm not a big drinker.  In fact, I had 5 alcoholic drinks TOTAL during the 7-night Bella cruise.  One of course one was a kraken colada in honor of @Sea Dog Greg.

My sister had a whistling tea kettle that sounded like the tornado siren when water started to boil.  Once she had some friends over and the minute the kettle "sounded" they all jumped up wild eyed yelling OMG TORNADO!!

Happy Birthday Miss Lizzie.

How does she set off the house alarm?

When we go out we leave the window and door alarms on and just shut off motion sensors.
Well some one not mentioning any names.   ( spouse), set full alarm on.
So pretty kitty jumped on light table in downstairs foyer and she was picked up by house sensors.   There everywhere in this house.
Security company called.
We gave password

Not once but twice in same week.
Yup

Bad …………spouse

Good………kitty

Lizzy wouldn’t have set it off if the spouse set it right.

Thanks @jagsfan.  I am glad you enjoy my posts so much.  I figure since I am not a frequent cruiser like everyone else here, I could contribute by showing all the things you can do from the Sydney port.  I also thought yourself and @dani negreanu who have been to Sydney would especially appreciate my posts.

I really enjoy your photos. I wish I could have seen the areas you walk through myself!

Airplane mode turns off data, wifi, as well as the transmitters for phone calls. Think of it as a master kill switch. You can either turn off airplane mode to reactivate everything, or you can turn things on individually. So if you want to connect to the ship's wifi turn on airplane mode then reactivate your phone's wifi.

I should have also mentioned that airplane mode will also turn off Bluetooth. So if you want to connect to something like earbuds you would have to turn Bluetooth back on after going into airplane mode.

We are taking Grandeur out of Tampa.  It goes to Cozumel, Roatan, Belize and Costa Maya.  I will try to post a little on the cruise and will have pictures and comments when we get back.  We are staying at the Holiday Inn Fairgrounds tonight.  Getting a late start waiting for a storm to go by.

Grandeur was our first RC cruise, a week around The Balearic Islands and Spain . Love at first sight

I have one elderly Aunt in Exeter that my dad calls every Sunday at 7pm.  He was telling me last night that the international phone cards he uses to call his sister are unfortunately being phased out.  Dad also has a cousin and many friends in the UK.  My late mum’s brother & extended family are in Surrey.

My DD and 3 Australian friends are in England for Glastonbury.  After 6 years of trying they finally got tickets.  My daughter’s best English friend is joining them at Glastonbury.  They met whilst her friend was on a working visa in Sydney.   Pleased to hear  the weather forecast is good as the four girls will be camping at the festival.

Hope little Isaac feels better soon.

If your dad and his elderly aunt are both on WhatsApp they can make free WhatsApp calls and texts between Australia and England.

Pauline and her cousin in Adelaide Australia are in daily contact through WhatsApp.

Glastonbury, wow the premium festival in the UK. Tickets sell out very fast.  Our nearest big town, Reading, also has a big festival each year at the end of August which I  use to go to when I was young  😄

We had a fun day with Isaac, but you could see he wasn't 100%. He's refused to eat anything though drank lots of water and oat milk, and then on the way home brought it up all over himself.  Hopefully he'll bounce back soon 🙏

Are you sure that you don't want to try Kraken instead?

Several years ago, while on FB, I became aware of a young boy named Marik who had gone through several bouts of Cancer.  I followed his Mom's posts about all of Marik's ups and downs with this horrible disease, occasionally contributing to help this family fulfill Marik's Bucket List.  One of his wishes was to meet Dwayne Johnson "The Rock" while visiting in California.  Mr. Johnson went over and above with Marik and his family.  I can't say enough good things about The Rock who was most generous with not only his time but also gave Marik some of the video games that was on his list, etc.  Marik passed away just before his 16th Birthday.

Today would have been Marik's 21st Birthday, which brings me to tell you about one of the items on his Bucket List.  His Mom shared this morning that the one thing that Marik always wanted, but that his Mom was adamant about his not having, was an alcoholic drink.  She worried about any bad reactions this would have on his medications.  Well, one day, Marik had finally run his Mom down.  He really wanted to try alcohol.  She gave in, rumaged around the liquor in the cabinet, and brought out a bottle of Kraken.  (and this is why I'm telling you about Marik.  Marik and the Kraken!)

His Mom poured a shot glass full of Kraken and handed it to Marik, expecting him to take a sip and spit it out and never ask again.  She was wrong, however.  He was standing in the kitchen on one leg (his other had been amputated years earlier).  He picked up his shot, held it up, and downed it like a professional.  He than slammed the shot glass down, screamed "LIKE A BOSS", and hobbled off to his room.  He never did ask for another drink, and his Mom said she was glad she let him have that small experience so very long ago.

So, here's to that  brave young Warrior, Marik, on his 21st Birthday in Heaven.  Slainte!
