True but I wouldn’t ever sit where not allowed, it sounded more to me like it was just someone feeling that entitled since the reserved seating for suites and all is not always front and center!

This is Seaham County Durham on the North East coast.

Newcastle Port of Tyne is 15 miles from us.

If you were docked in Newcastle we would have loved to see you and show you some of the area.

August 22nd is our 42nd wedding anniversary.

Liverpool is a lovely city on the North West coast about 170 miles from us.

The Beatles museum is in Albert Dock Liverpool less than 1 mile from the cruise terminal.

The famous Cavern club is in Liverpool city centre just under 1 mile from the cruise terminal.

Sue lives in Dorset I believe which is about 350 miles from Liverpool and over 400 miles from us.

I had about 5 pairs of these Candie's shoes in different colors.  I would never go anywhere without a handbag matching my shoes.  My, has times changed.

I remember those very well, except mine weren’t as high.

The thought of how these affect the structure and function of the foot and ankle makes me cringe.

Just looking at the picture makes my knees ache, let alone the feet!

I swear, pantyhose and high heels were invented by men just to torture women.  I haven't worn either in a couple decades now.

His posts on dogs are great and he is spot on with Newfoundlands. We have two of the gentle giants.

I love his latest series where an angel and God are inventing various dog breeds, too.  Just saw the one last night where they invented Newfies!

Only time I wear both is to a Wedding.

I wear wedge heels to work but they are so comfortable they don’t feel like heels.

Your country is so beautiful, I love all the pictures you share with us!

My hope is to someday cruise there, spend months exploring the whole continent (and visit some friends who live there), and then cruise back to the USA.

Whilst we were at  Manly Dam, my friend and her husband were at the other end of the peninsula, walking to Flint & Steel Beach in Ku-ring-Gai Chase National Park.

During a snack break, my friend lost her muesli bar that she was eating to this cheeky cutie. E5E576D6-22AD-4AF8-98A7-CE951C7BFE01.thumb.jpeg.4b14ba7fb02e4a821377f3404f3f6c80.jpeg

Highclere castle home of Downton abbey is 200 miles from Ripon at Newbury About 35 miles from Southampton the main cruise port in the UK.

We visited and did a tour of the castle and grounds there 2 years ago before  a cruise.

I might of mentioned before that I am growing jalapeno peppers from last year's seeds.  Out of the 8 plants one is cross-pollinated.  It is producing peppers that are big and characteristics of a bell pepper.   The first one I tried had very little heat.  Today I was chopping up a lot of different vegetables to roast.  I thought I would had one.  After cutting it open I took a seed a put it on my tongue.   Another one stuck on my finger dropped on my lower lip.  HOT 🔥.   It felt like I had a severe burn.  I recovered with a couple spoonfuls of cool whip!  These pics don't show the true size but here ya go.  I set regular jalapenos inside the sliced new one.

Here is a comparison of the tops.

If the new cross is to hot, have you thought of cross pollinating it with bell pepper again?

Mike wants to take 6 months off after he retires and travel around Australia in an rv. I know we won’t be able to do it that soon because we will still have cats and I can’t leave them for that long.

Today we are heading down to PNC park for a Pirates baseball game.  My nephew hung out with us most of yesterday and slept over.  We’ll meet up with family down at the game.  It’s gonna be pretty busy there.  It’s kids day and “Yinzerpalooza”  LOL  😂

I'm assuming you are not rooting for the better team? The "Phillies" ?🤣

Yesterday, we tried out a new experience for the kids.  Three guesses what it was.

When we were getting ready to go, I grabbed a few props and put them on.  When my grandson saw them, he wanted to put them on.

I guess that anyone in the know, knows that tomorrow is Harry Potter’s birthday.  Now me, I know nothing of it.  Never read the books, nor have I watched any of the movies.  But I guess the grandkids know something of the wizarding world, because they have owls and wands.

So last night we went to a themed dinner celebrating Harry’s birthday.

No one in our group wore official costume, but I think we were the only ones in the place that didn’t.  Evidently there are some serious fans out there.

They had a couple characters dressed as Harry and I guess it is one of his friends (like I said, I know nothing of the movies)

I guess this is Potter drink and food.  My one grandson swears that butter beer is the best, so I tried it out.

Shepard’s pie

And a cupcake.

IMG_8344.thumb.jpeg.c5c1e377045048a8914110bba275556f.jpeg

Everyone received a mini wand favor and a chocolate quidditch ball

The kids seemed to enjoy themselves.

Today, SYFY has a Harry Potter movie marathon, so maybe I will get to watch one of the movies to see what they are about.

Correct 🤣

Although the pirates have been on my sh** list for many years.  Mgmt is far more interested in turning profits than fielding a competitive team.  If it weren’t for the kids i would not go/support that.  Real shame bc it’s such a beautiful park.

Been a long time since they won the World Series in 1979...........almost 45 years. Early 90's last time in the NL Championships games.  That's is quite a drought of competitive baseball in Pittsburgh.

Funny you should ask. The answer is No but I might this upcoming week as the weather looks like perfect beach weather.  I can't believe it's almost August & I have yet to get to the beach.

We're heading to Smithtown this coming Saturday.  Certainly not looking forward to this ride from hell!  It took so many hours the last time we traveled there.  This time, we're taking the Garden State, Staten Island Expressway, Belt Parkway, the Southern State to the Sacgticose(sp?) aaargh!!!🤪

Pantyhose sure beats the nylons and garter belts from the early '60's!  Just sayin...😁

Good morning.

It is sunny and 61°F here at 08.23am.

I hope everyone is safe and well.

Wishing everyone a lovely day.

Thank you, Graham.  To you and Pauline, as well.

We are enjoying a beautiful day here.  It is 76 degrees, without humidity.  woo hoo!  I can't remember the last time it's been this beautiful here.  The oppressive heat wave that we've all been experiencing has finally broken here.  Last night was kind of tough, though!  While we haven't had the heavy rains and wind that a lot of our friends on here have been experiencing, part of our street lost power for over 3 and a half hours last night.  It was brutal, with the heat and humidity.  Jim and our grandsons couldn't get the darned generator to start.  Luckily, electric was finally back on around 9:00 last night.  Phew!!

Sorry to hear about your power cut and Jim and your grandson unable to start the generator in the brutal heat and humidity you had Maryann.

Pleased to hear your power did come back on 3 and a half hours later.

It is 68°F here at the moment at 16.02 pm.
