Caenarrfon Castle was constructed and commissioned in 1283 not only as a military stronghold but also as a seat of government and royal palace.

Right in the center of Snowdonia National Park is the “capital”, Betws-Y-Coed (prayer-house in the woods), a fairy-tale town with many shops, cafes, pubs and locals.  There is also a railroad station behind the shops.

I’m sorry to hear about your health issues, Greg @Sea Dog and @DaniDanielle (your Charlie’s).  I hope you all get better soon.

@maggieq We were on the 12-Night British Isles cruise that started on 8/16/2023.

Thank you for sharing your Spectacular photos.    I definitely have to check out a future cruise with similar itinerary.     So glad you had a wonderful sailing and great weather too!

Stomach issues have returned. Severe cramping. Went to doctors and got same abdomen x-rays. He thinks I have a bad stomach virus. I was feeling better but ate a regular breakfast this morning and it blew up on me again. Not to be gross but we think my lymph nodes in my left side groin have gotten inflamed as that’s where it is most painful. No meds for a virus just rest and bland foods. I need for this to go sway I have a cruise in two weeks.

Thoughts and prayers buddy.

I need you to go on that cruise.  I'm dying to live vicariously through your reporting of it. 😉 I've got over 60 days until I board Harmony.

I hope Charlie feels better soon.  Frustrating that he can't catch a break.  Take care of yourself too!

He really can’t seem to catch a break.  It is always something and with his history it can be very scary.  It just seems things pop up out of nowhere.  So tired of worrying.

Are you tired of castles?  Me, too.  So is this guy in the white top.  He’s on the “ABC- Another Bloody Castle” tour.  The Kilkenny Castle

We still joke about my son who on our many port days in Europe said "more rubble" as we visited the ruins in Epeshus.  He now asks us if we can do that trip again, all a matter of perspective.

All joking aside loving your pictures, bucket list for sure.  Thanks for sharing.

From September though November this is how I spend every Friday night... and love every minute of it.

"Friday Night Lights", the New England version.🙂

I'm sure you're not the NE version of Buddy Garrity, tho.  If you've never seen the show, it's a compliment.

Unfortunately, the work has begun in our town and Island Beach State Park near us, with the underground cables.  😢

Oh no, I didn't realize they have already started at this Park.    So sad😢

Is this for the wind farm that is supposed to be built off the coast by Atlantic City but visible for miles up & down the coast?  I thought it was in perpetual delays.

The same company wants to build similar wind farms of the coast of Long Island and (I think) Rhode Island.

London can easily take 3 days unless you really want to knock youself out. The London Tower alone took up half a day and I had to leave before I was ready as I had plans to meet up with my brother and other family members.

Venice is such a unique place on earth. You should definitely go.

Thank you, OB.  I am most interested in the Tower of London and plan on spending a lot of time there!

London has been on my bucket list for a very long time, we've had to cancel plans to get there 3 times in the past.  The last time it was 2020, trip canceled due to Covid;  Venice trip in 2021 canceled for same reason...

We only stayed 4 days.  That wasn't close to enough.  We had 8 days total in the UK and I split them between London and Glasgow, 4 days each.  I'm planning a big trip in 2026 for my 60 birthday hopefully full retirement. I'm hoping to do a TA with some time in the Uk and then follow it up with another week on a cruise out of Southhampton.

Thanks Dave.  I'm hoping for 4 or 5 days....

Hi Maryann.

If you tour Europe I would suggest an absolute minimum of 3 nights  for London and 2 nights for Venice.

2 nights for Barcelona and 3 nights for Rome.

3 nights for Paris.

They are all wonderful cities.

We stayed 3 nights in the London Ritz hotel 9 years ago for our 33rd wedding anniversary and 5 nights in Paris for our honeymoon in 1981.

Thank you, Graham!  We've stayed in Barcelona, as well as Rome, and visited both again while on cruises.  London's been my #1 bucket list, Venice has become #2😉

I tend to agree with what OB, Dave, and Graham said about time to spend in London.  There is so much to do and see.   We were there three days, after a cruise from Southampton.

You know that Susan and I are both big walkers, and we walked everywhere in London.  I just looked back at the trip report I did, and we walked 20 miles our first day there.   If you want to read about just the London part of the trip, it starts on page 10 of this link.

Thank you so much, Mark!  I just spent the last hour or so reading your Live report on your trip to London and wrote an entire page in my notebook.  My goodness, there's no way we could walk the lengths that you and Susan did, and do, on a daily basis!  Not that I ever could, but with Jim's bum knee....

Oh no, Greg!  I'm so sorry you are in such pain again.  Rest up and feel better.  You've got some serious cruising to do!😉

Thank you. Yes I am a little worried. This has been going on for a week and a half and our cruise is in two weeks.

Greg, that is awful for you.  Charlie has been sick all week, finally felt better yesterday and now has all different symptoms.  I give up!

I hope Charlie gets some relief from his symptoms and gets better quickly, Marietta.😔
