Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

They must want you to go away hungry with the sizes of those portions.........

Looks about right to me.  Multiple courses with a little time and a little wine between courses means I'd be full.  Besides, I don't have the self-control to NOT overeat when they put huge portions in front of me.  Huge portion sizes are a part of the reason that we've got such an obesity problem in the US, and all of the other medical issues that go with that.

I couldn't finish all of mine.  Gave DH parts of a few courses, had to save room for dessert which i also couldnt finish.  He said he would have been fine without what I gave him but did eat it.  More than enough food for most people. Teo courses were missing pictures.

Agree wholeheartedly on the portion sizes.  The only downside to the dinner there is no alcoholic drinks, only water and iced tea served with your meal.  We did stop for a drink before going as we knew and don't get down that way often so wanted to go to a spot we hadn't been to lately.

One of my friend's dropped this off yesterday to cheer me up with get well wishes.  A new lily came out today and a 3rd is almost ready to open.  This morning she dropped off home made blueberry filled pastries still warm from the oven. It sure brought a smile to my face.

I'm going to give her a goody bag of nice items from Bath and Body Works.

WOW that is so touching, simply beautiful!  He is a very mature young man who has been through so much and still takes the thought to commend all of his support from loved ones. He must make you feel so proud.

What surprises me is that you can buy a house with acerage for what to me seems very reasonable within 10 miles of PC. Lots of single family homes on water and canals. I saw one really nice one on 2 acres. I saw this price and clicked to see why the price was so high, the house looks ordinary. It's on 4.96 acres! This would have been a dream if I was younger to have more land so close to everything. I wouldnt want a pool though and almost every house seems to have a pool. 5 acres, house and pool. ..

Day 4- 3/29 Today’s adventure takes us to Hiroshima.  We take the ferry over from Miyajima, take the train and then catch a bus for our first stop…Costco.  Whenever we travel to new places, we always try to visit their local Costco’s.  It is always interesting to check out all the different merchandise that they carry.

Here is just a few samples of what I have not seen at our local Costco.

For the foodies, we went back to the Culinary Institute for dinner this week.  Have done lunch before but first time for dinner.  Seven courses for $45 pp, we left stuffed, all wonderful food, lots of great chefs coming up the ranks.  Missed pictures of a few courses, too interested in eating, by the time I remembered it wasn't photo worthy.

The menu, also included was a lobster soup to start.  The only item you needed to pick was dessert, of course we got 1 of each.

Lobster soup, went to take a bite before remembering picture, happened more than once

This set up & your dishes  looks very similar to The Test Kitchen on Virgin Voyages.  Except the menu - you get a description of each dish.  On VV you just get a single ingredient.

Portions on cruises are smaller than the past which I prefer, we just got off celebrity in a suite only time I ever indulged was on first day lunch , love the lobster roll offered only on first day and ordered two ( for the first time) was stuffed. Wife eats way more than me even though I weigh a hundred pounds plus more , she wakes up at 4:30 each morning to go to camp gladiator, I wake up about 8. Food was excellent love Le Petit Chef four course meal but small tasty courses . My weight is more from liquor.

That sushi looks wonderful.

So happy you got to see the Hiroshima memorial. Every time I see a photo of it I get chills. So glad they preserved it as it should be a reminder to us all of the horrors of war.

Deb, the 1st 4 days were super painful but luckily that's in the past.  I feel so much better, Doc advised to take it easy for at least another 2 weeks to allow everything to heal internally. Thanks for asking.

In my defense - I'm down with a nasty flu (vaccinated to boot) for more than a week. Got it from DH, who had a light "version", since he didn't bother to get vaccinated....

Not fair, not fair at all 😢

I’m so sorry you are under the weather!  I know what you mean about “not fair!”  I wear sunscreen all the time, and a hat if outdoors and never lay out in the sun.  DH on the other hand, has a shaved head, wears no sunscreen and plays golf etc without wearing a hat.  Guess which of us needed MOHS surgery? 😖

@Luckynana Maryann, I'm lucky to call her friend.

@Sea Dog Greg, it sure brings me joy. With my non-green thumb, I hope it lasts as long as possible.

@CrzLvr2 Sue, thank you so much.  Today marks one week since surgery and it really is the first day I feel more than good!

AND I hope those celebrating had a meaningful Good Friday.

Thanks why I am horrible with flowers. Everything I get I don’t water enough and it dies. We do more artificial flowers in our house than live ones.
