Out of curiosity is swimming easier?

Actually not. I thought it would be and have a swimming pool at home my that leg tires easily (most likely because I've always swam incorrectly by stroking at the knee instead of the thigh).

knees like other joints can be a pain 🙂.  Maybe try upper body weights.   My wife has a recumbent stationary bike that she adjust that takes weight off the body When peddling.  She has some torn hip tendons that are difficult to repair.   Stay away from Cipro as it can make tendons brittle.

Lol,Let me guess you watch cnn all day? Hind site is 20/20....when the president closed travel from china he was called a racist? So why do you think he shouldve closed europe earlier? He did it pretty quickly. But I guess no matter what the president does he would be lamb based for it.

Why do we go to lawyers, doctors, specialists who have studied for years to be “experts?” Because we are not omniscient...so we depend on others who have specific expertise that we need. If my dermatologist says that spot is just a freckle, of our attorney says to sign the contract...we are paying them for specific expertise.

In January and February, Dr Fauci and the CDC were telling America we were at low risk of the pandemic. They were the experts advising Trump.  When Trump  blocked Chinese flights, one of the reasons many called it racist...was because of the “expert” advice that there was no big problem.

Cruise ships sailed on that “expert“  advice. Just as we rely on our doctors, our lawyers, every administration must rely on the CDC and the experts at the beginning of a crisis. Now after there is REAL data, and differences appear in the expert advice...it might be time for that second or third opinion. But at the beginning, what those top experts said in January and February was the guidance most of us were ready to trust.

According to research at Columbia, had we closed the country one week earlier 36, 000 lives would have been saved.  Had we closed March 1, we would have saved 80,000 lives.  FYI  In addition, I watch all news channels to determine the facts.

Turn off the TV.

We limit our time on TV watching the news to one hour per day.  We try to watch movies, sitcoms, documentaries and some other TV specials.

Unfortunately, since most news is depressing, we try to limit the amount of time spent watching the news but still cannot bury our heads in the sand.  My husband is working from home and is busy most of the day with his work.

That’s not “research“ ...that’s guesswork on a travel back in time. We don’t need to play with numbers...we have real situations unfolding in front of us. Georgia, Texas, Florida.

Eight weeks ago, the media had its hair in fire when Florida began opening up, “

Just give it two weeks! The death rate will soar!”

They took to their fainting couches when Georgia did the same. So now we are eight weeks in. No spike.  If you are waiting for no deaths...then revoke drivers licenses until we stop killing each other on the highways.

Watching all news channels is not informing yourself.  All the media is these days, are partisans deciding what they want to tell you and what they want to hide. Why do you need a middleman selecting information for you?  Start your day by being your own researcher. Don’t let some reporter tell you what was said...google a full unedited video. Look up documents and actual statistics.

You can, for example, often read the actual documents of what people testified under oath and what they claimed on TV.  You’ll never trust them again.

I have been “woke” to the media since 2006.

You too. I know that no matter how much we may differ on the right way to manage this, we all want the same things. Wishing the best for you too.

Even if you survive this covid19 your body is not going to be the same. Heart lung and mental issues will be with you for the rest of your life. We all go through things in life but it’s risk versus reward. More news footage of folks suffering on a ventilator need to be viewed. Our doctor was adamant about you don’t want to go through that. Suffering. You’ll never be the same. 40 plus cruises. Most recent February 2020. I can wait. Hopefully the cruise industry survive.

The vast majority of people diagnosed with Covid-19 are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms.

The lockdowns saved thousands of lives.

The lockdowns were only in place to avoid hospitals getting overrun. Hospitals didn't get overrun. Even in Sweden where there was no lockdown they only hit 60% of bed occupancy.

You are not going to convince me and I am not going to convince you.

I am not going on any cruises until the virus is no longer a threat. There aren’t any to go on anyway. So you are not going on a cruise either......

Means they contracted a mild strain...just like common flu, some contract a mild case ...

Good call.

Our next cruise is booked for January 2021 and I'm pretty sure we'll be on it. As for the others looks like August 1 is the tentative start date.

No longer a threat to who? It's only really been a threat to the elderly and those with comorbities. The average person can fight this thing off.....most without showing any symptoms whatsoever. We should definitely be taking precautions to protect the vulnerable but to shut everything down was just wrong......but that will come to light in a few years.

As is the title of this thread, If you are too scared to cruise, don't cruise. Please take heed of this advice.

It does not matter if you are scared or not scared. You will have to wait to go on a cruise. 2021 might be a good call. Time will tell. As for it only being a threat to the elderly or whatever that includes a lot of people even if true.

Thats the concern because they may not even know they are spreaders.

Which is why social distancing is still important as is the use of masks while inside in public. Shutdowns though?

I agree with that we just need to get mask wearers to be more compliant.  Dense crowds like sporting events probably need some more thought.  We learn more stuff everyday and fine tune as we go.  I wish more people on both sides could say I made a mistake on that one and evolve.

You came to a thread titled "If you are too scared to cruise, don't cruise". You came here. And yes, it does include a lot of people. Your Country has roughly 300 million people yet only only 94k have died so far. And there are quite a few people who say that 94k number has been elevated due to political pressure. Time to turn off the news.......

This video from Saturday did a breakdown on the risk that gave me a great deal of peace of mind. UK Government confirms COVID19 is HARMLESS to the vast majority of people.

Probably correct. Most people, I think nearly 80+% that get infected, are Asymptomatic. The problem is, how do we protect the ~20% or 8-10% that require hospitalization.
