That's the problem with this beast, not everybody is the same. Get it checked for your own piece of mind.

i phoned up the urgent care and they said $200 for a visit and $50 for the lab work.  You would think they want ppl tested and make it cheaper or free.

still for peace of mind i should get it done.   no high fever , no chills and no coughing to speak of.

I can't agree with you there, at least not a significant presence in recent times. The numbers don't lie. He's made about 600 posts since May 1 and maybe 50 were on the Carnival board and 1 on Royal Caribbean. All the rest...90% of his posts... were here on the NCL board.

I suppose he and I must frequent the same boards then.  My apologies.

Don't they have covid testing centers that are free?

All part of the gross mismanagement I mentioned earlier. How do you stand a hope of controlling a highly infectious disease when so many in the USA don't even have health coverage and for those who do its expensive to get tested. People just won't pay and won't find out.

I know many states have made testig for COVID a service that has to be offered for free though - has your state not done rhis?

i was trying to find any, but it seems it is far from where i live.  (fairfax, VA)  maybe they pop up randomly.

https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/health/novel-coronavirus/coronavirus-covid-19-testing

HealthWorks provides COVID-19 testing free for uninsured patients who meet eligibility for the sliding scale fee and do not already have another primary doctor. Patients should call 703-443-2000 to get a telehealth evaluation by a medical provider prior to scheduling a test.

Neighborhood Health provides COVID-19 testing free for uninsured patients who meet eligibility for the sliding scale fee. Patients should call 703-535-5568 to get a telehealth evaluation by a medical provider prior to scheduling a test.

Obesity, hypertension, diabetes.  Unless you're Kim Jong-un, much lower in Korea.  Overall health seems to be the biggest factor in ccv outcomes.

Oh indeed all the more reason to be super strict on controls, lock downs, and contact tracing in the USA.

South Korea also has universal healthcare so it has that going for it as well.

Any way you look at it USA has managed this incredibly poorly. (Same for UK).

How was there mismanagement in NYC?  Besides dealing with covid, we also had to deal with huge protesting and looting.  Despite this...our statistics have only improved.

In addition...we have to deal with population density.  Once you leave your apt there's no such thing as social distancing because it's impossible.  And lines for supermarkets....etc.

I'd say our recovery is nothing short of a miracle!

Where do I sign up for that "New Yorkers Only Cruise".

Florida's situation was no where near New York from the beginning.

This is the problem, even with insurance many of our deductibles are high.   Certain percent of ppl in America think health care is not deserved.

4k deductible on my husbands insurance. BUT, they are covering anything COVID related 100% disregarding deductible. Also the telephone appts, they seem to be covering and I haven't had to pay for them. I saw one for $300 for a 10minute video call, but they paid it at no cost to me.

4K deductible - how much is the premium. That's more than my family private policy and that s just  the deductible  🙂

Nope, wrongo.  If you're at risk, you need to take precautions.  Those of us who are healthy, sorry, we're done cancelling life.

As for universal healthcare, Canada and California have roughly the same population yet Canada has approaching twice the fatality rate.

I wondered the same.  There are free drive up testing sites all over our area and our Governor has encouraged every citizen of GA to get tested...for free.

Well i made an appointment. Wish me luck.

Greetings from South Beach,  Everyone. One reason so many people are being diagnosed with the /virus is testing. Most of these people are asymptomatic. In the beginning,  only the symptomatic, and essential service workers were tested. The plague, famine, war and taxes have been around since Man began recording Life and our species is thriving.

IMO, the economic and political damage dome to the USA has been catastrophic. The plague, famine, and war have been around since we appeared on Earth, and our species is thriving. Too bad cruising is collateral damage. I saw a  list of when NCL ships are scheduled to restart on CC,  and Bliss is listed for October. Hope so because we board in February.

$450/month coverage for husband/wife. The prescription plan is "discounted prices" until the deductible is met than 30% copay. Not what we're used to from 4 years ago, 35/50 copays  for primary/specialist and 15/25/50 prescriptions (depending on tier).
