The selected quote you provided led me to believe these cruises were canceled due to COVID being on board. Reading the article tells me it's due to Italy not yet approving cruise ship visits.

Unfortunately, I expect to read many more stories such as that one before the virus has run it's course.

Does not mention only passengers. The quote from the SMH is:

"Norway will stop all cruise ships with more than 100 people on board from disembarking at Norwegian ports in the wake of the outbreak of COVID-19 on a Hurtigruten cruise ship, the Norwegian Health Minister said on Monday.

I must be missing something, it happens. Europe from start to finish just never did get it.

Probably all that pollution in West Virginia. I know no one that wants to go to West Virginia. I know people that have left West Virginia and moved elsewhere because is so bad there. Definitely not a place you would want to partake of boat related activities.

Actually, West Virginia has some very nice areas to live in. For 23 years I lived in Kanawha County, like living in a suburb and only 2.5 miles from the heart of downtown of it's largest city.  Clean air. Friendly people. Good schools.

 

I do not know in what part of WV TTEllis lives, but I bet it is just as nice.

Every country-state-province probably has nice areas, not so nice areas and bad areas. I think this is not the place to argue whose place is nicest/worst etc. I also think that most people find the place where they live the best (otherwise they probably would not live there). My original post may have seem to severe. What I am trying to say, until world positive test get below 5% for several months, there be no safe cursing.The situation is changing on a daily basis. The US is a long(many months) away from 5% criteria.

many Europe countries are near 5%. It will take several months for a good vaccine to be given to 70% of the world.

Crew members are people! And they can catch and spread Covid 19.
