Jacqui, your garden is still looking great!  Don't the deer eat your phlox?

The deer can’t touch my phlox, Ann.  The phlox is behind a 6’ fence.  it’s the only reason I have gardens in the back yard 😉

Today we would have been sailing out of Vancouver after our visit with you heading to Japan.  😢

Dh, without thinking, laid down yesterday evening in a way that would have previously sent the room whirling and him with it. But NO vertigo!! Hurray!! It's gone!! The Epley maneuver worked as several of you said it would. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

That is excellent news 😄. So happy to hear that the manoeuvre worked 🙂

That explains that! 😁  We had to do the same thing here, too.  Now we just have our little courtyard where I can grow things in pots.  And we have to leave the gate open or no one will make deliveries, so we are risking all!  We have a momma deer with twins who wander through the buffet.

Good Morning.

We have had rain here this week, and it looks as though it may continue.

The maple trees I can see from my living room window are still mostly green with a hint of yellow.  Autumn is on her way.

Here is a selection of rivers.  So many rivers, and so many photographs.

Not sure of the name of this particular river, but the photograph was taken on a logging road on Vancouver Island.  I love the greens.

Good morning all!

I'm sure we're all wishing we could be world tourists and cruising today -- hoping for much better next year!  Meanwhile I'm planning our next road trip for next spring.  Yellowstone (of course) and adding in Mount Rushmore and Deadwood this time.  We'd hoped to get back to Rocky Mountain National Park and be able to drive the Trail Ridge Road, but after the arctic blast they had our trip a few weeks ago, and researching I learned that it's very touch and go whether it's open due to snow, wildfires, avalanches, etc. etc.  So, since it's a long drive, sadly we're giving up on that idea.

LOL at the hummingbird quote, and I think the drink of the day sounds yummy.  One would probably do it for me though 😉

Today is our 51st anniversary.  A year ago we were on the beautiful Nieuw Statendam starting on a 65-day Med marathon.  Oh the memories 🙂  I think we'll get take-out tonight, maybe Red Lobster...

Stay safe everyone and wear your masks 🙂 🙂

Good morning everyone!  Thank you for the Daily Rich and thank you for your list Roy.

Thank you to everyone for posting and I love looking at all the pictures too. I looked up the menu suggestion and it looks good but has a lot of ingredients so since I’m not a big chicken fan I will pass. The drink sounds really good. Wish I was a tourist right now.  My Mom needs a cochlear implant but won’t even consider it due to her age. I wish she would, she misses so much.

Have a great day everyone!

That’s a shame that you have to leave the gate open, Ann. 😞

I have a small fence in the front walkway to try to protect the plants there (we take it down for the winter so it doesn’t rust) and the delivery guys have no problems opening the gate and putting the packages on our front door step.

Today is our 51st anniversary.

Happy Anniversary to you; may your memories of last year's cruise hold you through to the next one!

We're supposed to get strong wind gusts over the next couple of days, so I thought I'd take some photos of the Virginia Creeper vines and the Japanese Maple in our back yard before we have to rake them all up.  Mother Nature's been at it with her paintbrush again as you can see.

It's only been since Covid, Jacqui.  With 75 units, the newspaper delivery lady said she would not be touching the gates, so if we wanted delivery to the door, we had to leave the gate open.  So that is what we have been doing, except Sunday through Monday, as we don't get a Monday paper.  How life has changed, even the little things!  Sometimes the delivery guys just leave packages in the driveway, even with the gate open...

Happy Anniversary, @Cruising-along !

Blaze of Glory sounds like a drink I would like very much!  I will save that for whenever the day comes in the next 7-280 days when I announce my retirement.  HOORAY!

Good luck with your decision and I hope your retirement is sooner than later. I retired a year early this past June. I had just been working part time, only 22 hours a week, but it had become such a chore, and since it was in the medical field COVID  just added so much more stress.  Best decision!  Take care!

Good afternoon fellow followers of Rich's thread.  We only saw one hummingbird this year!   Without his hearing aids DH has trouble, so today we can think about those who are deaf and praise those who teach sign language and manufacture aids.  The drink of the day doesn't appeal to me, so a pass on that and dinner tonight is take out to support our local restaurants.  Like others, today we are sad for what should have been - boarding the Noordam in beautiful Vancouver.  Unfortunately, the Covid 19 numbers are going up, I fear more restrictions are coming.  Stay safe everyone!

Thank you!  I’ve devoted a lot of “think time” to affirming what I will do for me “after”.  Which has me wondering - am I sure waiting is a good idea??  Stay tuned!  I will keep you all informed.

Good morning!  I am so excited that there is a glimmer of hope,  we have friends sailing today on Mein Schiff out of Crete.  They were all pretested for Covid.  Hoping it is successful!

Jacqui, feel your sadness about the cancelled Japan trip, hope you can do it another time, so amazing!

fat cat, Glad the  procedure worked for the Dizziness!

Happy anniversary Cruising along!

Good Sunday morning.

Foggy and WET here.  Rained for hours the last several days, over 3" of rain.  I want to send the rain to the Northwest.

I laugh every time I read the quote.  Took me a bit of time last time to figure it out.  LOL

The meal sounds really good.

Blaze of Glory:

1 1/2 oz of Dark rum
2 tsp of dark creme de cacao (or chocolate liqueur)
1/2 oz of grand marnier orange liqueur
Shake ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into a cocktail glass.

Prayers for those on our list and those that don't know they need them

Shout out to our praise list.

Stay safe, practice social distance, and wear your mask.

The NW doesn't need the rain!  -- we got soaked a couple of days ago -- thanks anyway.

Thank you, everyone, stay safe and happy.

My Red Sox finished at the bottom. 😞
