Just my humble opinion mind. 🤣 It is not just anti vax people it is silly comments that may sway someone who is not sure whether they should have the vaccine or not. I did read a report suggesting that the general uptake had increased to 85% which would probably be a good result in creating herd immunity. The anti vaxers can then suffer the consequences of their actions, I did see a report about a young lady who was a covid denier that is now quite poorly and has done a U turn with her views.
Gettingwarmer Posted February 5, 2021 #4054 Share Posted February 5, 2021 (edited) Just had an SMS from surgery/local centre. Booked my appointment through text at local centre for Thursday. Part of over 65 group. I also have the NHS app so it might have come via that. Edited February 5, 2021 by Gettingwarmer

Splice the mainbrace Posted February 5, 2021 #4056 Share Posted February 5, 2021 I see that Spain will only be using the AZ vaccine for the under 55s, even though UK has experience with AZ in all age ranges giving a 'good' immune response, although not published yet! Current European country status not approving AZ for all ages: Germany, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Netherlands, and Poland only recommend it for people under 65, and Italy, Spain and Belgium for those under 55, because of what they say is a lack of data on its effectiveness in older people. Both had nasty side effects, not life threatening of course, just a lot worse than mine. Something to do with already having had the antibodies in their system. My grandaughter 29, had covid in the first wave. She had a headache and felt tired, took two paracetamol and went to bed. The next morning she was as right as rain. As she's a nurse she had her jab two weeks ago and she said she felt terrible, much worse than before and she had to take two days off work. I mentioned about already having had covid and she said some other nurses who'd already had covid had no side effects at all, apart from a tender injection site, so who knows. Avril Hi Avril, I read today that it's approx 3 in every 1000 that has side effects. Now I probably don't believe that, because how many people who had my mild side effects report them. Very few, although I did. But as someone who has never had any reaction to a jab, it's just one of those things I guess.

Am I the only person who wishes that the news programmes didn’t feel the need, every single time that the word ‘vaccine’ is mentioned (which is an awful lot), to immediately and without warning cut to a close up shot of a needle going into someone’s arm? Ok, I admit it. I am a complete wimp when it comes to medical stuff and any blood and guts stuff on TV. Makes me go weak at the knees, which my wife finds hysterical, but I think we know what a jab looks like now and wider shots of people in the vaccination centres would suffice for me 😂 Totally agree Selbourne, I’m fine with having blood taken and having injections but I never look! And then I keep seeing it on the news!
