Where are the test cruises?

Agree, which is why I suggest test cruise early in the prior month.

But also equally dangerous to do test cruises too early, just to have them change the required protocol after the test is complete, requiring another test round.

Eddie

It also doesn't make sense to get a crew aboard for test cruises too long before cruising opens up. I sure management want revenue coming in as soon as possible after bringing crew back aboard.

They may change the protocol, but I can't see them negating successful test cruises under the original protocol as a result.

Glad to hear your sister only had a few days of side effects. We got our appointment right when vaccinated, we come back in 3 weeks. Have to bring the Covid vaccination card that they gave us. Oh also, three different people checked our ID, maybe to verify our identity and also that we were 65+. So bring your ID and your signed consent forms.

Got a call last night from Brevard County Health dept...poor woman working from home, still making calls at 8:30 at night!  She was verifying date of birth, and I let her know I had the form filled out, printed, and ready to go.  I will bring ID.  I asked her how early I need to get there for the drive thru event, "an hour?" I asked.  She said "gosh no..don't come that early, come just before your appointment time, as we have things spaced out pretty well".   Then I will be parked over for my 15 minute watch time, and will get an appointment at that time for the second shot.

I was impressed.

Carnival just cancelled through March, so waiting to see if Royal follows. I don’t know if they can do a test cruise during a time period when revenue-producing cruises are cancelled.

Today's so called "update" is just a reprint of the old update.

I have a cruise in May on their brand new ship Mardi Gras. Also will be our first time sailing from Port Canaveral. Still hoping it may go, got a nice casino discount offer so we decided we want to try out their roller coaster.

Glad Brevard seems to have their act together. This FCFS here in Volusia is for the birds.  I think things are going to change up a bit here soon. Too much pushback on FCFS.

A post somewhere on CC recently suggested Chik Fil A do the vaccines.  Got a good laugh out of that....... but they are amazingly efficient at drive thru service..... 🙂

The state is working on a statewide reservation system that should help if and when it gets rolled out. What I don't understand is how Volusia county can be surrounded by counties that have successfully implemented a reservation/appointment system, and yet they continue to go with FCFS. BTW, anyone in Florida can go to any county in Florida to get vaccinated, so if Volusia doesn't clean up their act, you can make a reservation/appointment in Orange, Brevard, or Osceola, or wherever else you're close enough to drive to.
