Freedom July Restrictions

Recommended Posts

Glad to see they are limiting unvaccinated adults to as many venues as possible. The more the better and hopefully deter them from even wanting to get on the ships. Safety should be number one this early on in the game and its apparent that Royal doesn't want these people aboard ....without coming out and saying it publicly.

I don't know why anyone would want to take their unvaxed kids on a cruise at this point.  Just wait a few months until restrictions get lifted and/or the kids CAN get vaccinated

Because people made plans a year ago and can't easily move them back a couple months? If every adult was vaccinated it wouldn't have much risk either.

I said that about adults with medical issues. Got some backlash. Carnival said no one on oxygen or dialysis can cruise right now. HAL pax was told it's because the medical facility is full up turning it into a lab. If you are on chemo or had a organ transplant I'd not want to go into a mexican port or cruising. Go ahead and hate me. Carnival has been much clearer on their policies. To me rcl has been wishy washy and changing their rules too often.

No reason not to have Chef's Table for vax.  It is just dining, just like everyone has been doing for months now.

Just a decision. Also no fttf on carnival for july and august. Like the key. Faster to the fun is priority.

I'm glad they have been clear on those things so people know. Maybe first cruises out they dont feel they have the staff. Idk ..

Actually I can understand why no fttf on carnival. IT has to program access to boarding docs so they have access 2 days earlier. Loyalty levels platinum and diamond now open 2 days early to select boarding times. Imo it's about IT for that.

I think the restriction is more because unvaxxed passengers are limited to dining with the people they came on-board and not dining with others.  Chef's table by it's nature is dining with new people.

Correct. Also, who would want to dish out $$$ for Chef's Table and have to sit next to unvaxxed passengers if you are vaxxed?

I’m on the July 2 Freedom sailing. I plan to Livestream that weekend if you want to follow on YouTube.

the information I got that in Nassau unvaccinated need to be on tours but CocoCay there are no restrictions. I’m going with my son with isn’t vaccinated and I’m fine with all of this. Just glad Adventure Ocean will be open. For me that would have been a dealbreaker

Link Please!  Never mind, found you.....Beauty Queen??!!!  Wow

I don't think people's feeling are high on the consideration list. It's more about containing the possible spread (however slight) to those in the affected party.

They might not get that many takers if they make Chef's Table mixed - unvaxxed and vaxxed.  I for one have enjoyed CT on many cruises but would not go if they allowed unvaxxed - just as I would not go to the casino if they allowed unvaxxed there.

Which is exactly why i specified "for vaccinated passengers" only

The real question is - how long before all these restrictions just go away ?

Royal’s Galveston sailings link in the Healthy Sail section originally required vaccinations, for those of legal age, up through October 31 (original planned end of CSO).    As Florida’s court battle looked more favorable against the CDC, Royal quietly updated Galveston’s vaccine requirement to August only.

What will happen on July 18 if CSO remains as is -the requirements will revert to recommendations only. That frees up cruise lines to welcome all, with no restrictions on board.  I don’t see the cruise lines separating  vax vs unvaxed after that point.

This is a good start and I'm glad they came out and gave some actual information. For me, as a vacc'd passenger I would not want to be in a specialty restaurant with an unvacc'd or on a shore excursion. This sets me up as a close contact in case there is a covid case among the unvacc'd. I would question doing both of those things - overabundance of caution on my part.

I highly doubt the cruise lines are going to throw out all restrictions in July one major outbreak on a ship would be devastating.

I think this is an unrealistic, overly optimistic expectation.

Do you go out in public now with these same concerns?

Research has shown restaurants are not at all a common avenue for covid spread, and that's back when no one was vaccinated

Absolutely. These restrictions will be in place until circumstance can pretty much guarantee a break-out free cruise experience. One "bad" cruise and the industry tanks again.

Apples and oranges.

On land, I'm not tested after a week of being out and about even if asymptomatic, and subject to being quarantined if a positive test.

Yes, as Masking and Distancing have been ending at some point Vax Requirement/Restrictions will end. Change will happen. May not know until Boarding

It’s merely a possibility. Except for Seattle sailings which had specific requirements for the duration of  the Alaska season,, the 2 ships sailing from Florida and Texas only cover the first month of their respective sailings currently (July for Freedom, August for Independence).

It will be interesting to see how Royal handles this month to month.
