August 3, 2021 Updated sailings and cancellations

Recommended Posts

I just received notice that the Serenade repositioning cruise from Sydney to Singapore on Feb 27, 2022 is canceled.
Is the online link to access possible L&S itineraries still active?

That link ceased to exist Jan 31, 2021 when the free for all L&S ceased to exist.  You will receive specific about your L&S options in your cancellation letter

You will have to wait and see the specific options for your sailing.  The ones I have seen so far have all stated, same embarkation port, same ship, same length

Was there mention of lift and shift in your cancellation letter?

This is all I got. No specifics and it’s a repositioning, not a regular Aus sailing.
Guess I’ll have to call.

Looks confirmed that Oasis will be good to go!!  Now do I dare to book a flight or not is the million dollar question?!?!

Oasis does their test cruise starting Aug 22nd.     Just never know what NJ/NY port authority will do from now till then.  If I was you I would book refundable air, maybe thru choice air?

I lost the Brilliance in September, which isn’t totally unexpected.  What I didn’t expect was the L&S example they gave; they suggested the Brilliance    for a specific time period next year.  A period when the Brilliance is not even sailing 😂.

So it looks like you are not limited to +/- 2 weeks and any 2022/2023 sailing if you were not on the repositioning cruise.

There isn't a new link like they had last time, and it is really sort of a bogus offer with a major restriction that makes it unusable;

" Only sailings departing on or before April 30, 2022 can be rebooked as part of our Lift & Shift offer. Sailings departing after April 30, 2022 are unavailable as options through this offer, regardless of the original sail date (unless otherwise specified)."

Your sailing, our sailings are in late 2021 and early 2022 so they can't be shifted anyway. (under this new cancellation offer).  And there is no extension of the FCC dates.

Jimbo's sailing is March 2022, so yes he can lift and shift to 2023.

The ding dongs just this morning sent out free casino offers and some of these cancelled sailings are on there...i.e. free 7 night cruise on Rhapsody for various dates from Jan to Mar 2022.

I guess casino people don't speak with corporate people before they send out their offers.      Ding Dong!

I was booked on a repositioning cruise out of Sydney, not a regular Australia sailing. I doubt there’ll be anything I can shift to.

I'm furious and disgusted with Royal Caribbean.
They canceled our Nov. 6 Vision out of SJU and now we're SOL.
If we want to sail on a cruise around the same dates such as Explorer out of SJU NOv. 7th Or Allure out of MIA  we would have to pay 4 times  as much for a balcony cabin.
True those are 7 nites and our original was only 6 but the price difference is sky high.
I've been on canceled cruises before where they just put us on another ship around the same date, but this is just pure greed.
I think we're taking the 100% refund and never ever ever sailing on RC again.
They will never see another dollar from me again.
I said good bye to NCL 10 years ago and we can do the same with RC and never miss them after this.

Unfortunately other than clearing your chest, typing this or doing this isn’t going to do anything. It is what it is.

Can we now assume that Anthem's TA will be non revenue?  DW and I are booked on Anthem 7 november trip to the Bahamas.  We have just made final payment and the app says checkin opens Aug 9. We cannot wait the be back on this incredible ship.

And this is what I feel is the most galling.  The announcement regarding the new start dates was prefaced with this line:

This announcement is long-awaited — and we couldn’t be more thrilled.

Thrilled?   You just disrupted the travel plans of so many people, many of whom are loyal RCCL cruisers and you're THRILLED!!

Sad,

So my Rhapsody of the Seas in March 2022 from Tampa, Florida, is not going to be going? Is that what I am reading?

Man, hate to be the crew on that ship having to wait that long to do a regular cruise again? May 2022.............***** !

Just did some research, looks like Rhapsody is not going out of Tampa, means cannot do Lift and Shift, means Royal not obligated to do the “price protection” thing, that’s sad for us, good for Royal I suspect.
