Good morning  fellow Dailyites.I will pass on the menu item but will celebrate  the saxophone. DH and I were talking the other day  and listing the best concerts we had ever been to.High on the list was "the big man" Clarence  Clemmons way back in the eighties at a Springsteen  concert. We were way up in the rafters but his saxophone  was incredible, even in a big arena.Sigh.

@Quartzsite Cruiser I will admit to a touch of envy but mostly I am very excited for your month long cruise.Start packing!

I am sorry to report that our Tana was hospitalized  last night. We have her son and dog in the guest room and we are all hoping it will be a short stay. Her respiratory  difficulties  increased with the onset of cooler weather

and she began spiking fevers again.

Terry

Terry, I’m so sorry that Tana was hospitalized again.Prayers she will be home soon.

Please keep my friend, Cyn, on the Care list. She ended up back in ICU because of her blood cell count, and this time dealt with Sepsis, too.

Now her oncologist is determining whether or not to continue this course of chemo. She is not tolerating it well. They haven’t even dared to test for the cancer agent levels.

Her Sister says that Cyn is so weak, that she has lost her “sense of me”.  But she is a fighter and she survived the most recent horror.  So none of us have given up hope.

So sorry to hear this. My friend fought the same battle and had to stop the chemo because he was winding up in the hospital every day to be hydrated. It’s a horrible disease that we should have found a cure for already. Men on the moon and no cure for Cancer. I think it’s a big business for the drug companies.

Thanks Rich and Roy for your daily inspiration. The Rotterdam is definitely in Bimini today 🤪. The winds are strong so even though we are docked it feels like the ship is moving. Shore excursions were cancelled. It feels so good to be back on a BHB. Sail away was delayed last night as hotel supplies were late.

When the cruise switched from 3 days to 5 days we upgraded to a Neptune suite 11006 and are at the port side corner on deck 11. This suite is not what we are used to for a Neptune, nice but a shower with jets instead of a tub, very small balcony with room for two chairs only, no separate dressing area, half the closets and no long expanse of counter space. It would however be perfect spot for a Panama Canal cruise or viewing glaciers or fiords.

The ship has only 900 passengers, well below capacity. The Mariner 4&5 ️ reception was held yesterday. Tonight is gala night.

It’s great to be back, even for a short time.

Good morning all. First of all.... I am so sorry to hear about Tana and Cyn and their recurring illness. I am sure this is hard on Tana's son and everyone concerned in both families.

Chilly here this morning. Temps in the high 20's and supposed to climb only to the high 50's or low 60's. Weather is sunny and that will continue.

I should be ok with the dog tomorrow morning.... he tends to want to sleep in. I am the one awake early and tomorrow it will be even earlier than usual. I am not looking forward to the dark so early. Bandit's evening walks are going to be really short. I worry about bears. They are still up and raiding trash were they can. Anyone ever see that Robitussin commercial? I can identify with it.

I am getting stuff together to go the Thrift Store.... right now I am sorting kitchen cabinets. Just how many baking pans does one really need.... especially when I rarely bake. And I need to make a quick run to the store. One of my prescriptions is now 21 days in the mail and my doctor has placed a "bridge" order since I am nearly out. The on-line pharmacy says they have sent a replacement order.... hope it gets here.

Susan

Prayers going up for Cyn and Tana and all on Roy's list.

Roy, would you mind adding our friend Walker to the prayer list. He stopped all cancer treatment and is now only taking meds for pain. He's battled cancer for many years and says he sees his end in sight.

Good morning Rich and Daily-ites. Thank you for the Daily.

This afternoon we are having Happy hour in our cul d sac in celebration of turning the clocks back. I'm sure there will be plenty of wine tasting. I don't believe anyone will be playing the saxophone though.

When we lived in Montana we would visit Yellowstone several times a year. Always loved watching the bison. There was also a bison ranch in Hamilton.

Thankful our bathroom is complete. Allen is so happy he can shower safely.

Have a great weekend. Prayers, Cheers, and Blessings

Good morning all. Thanks to those who started and post in this forum. Today started early as the lights from the boat ramp as the duck hunters headed out. 6:30 and still dark so lots of lights. Here is a picture from yesterday of them coming back. I think it looks like a costume party parade.

Good morning from sunny Quartzsite, where it is supposed to reach 89F.  This is probably our last hot weekend.  Next week will be in the lower 80sF and in ten days be in the upper 70sF.  Our nights are already cooling down to the 55-59 degree range.

I thought wine tasting was everyday on the Daily.  🤣 🍷  I like the saxophone, and our older DD played the sax in her high school jazz band.  Interestingly, it is the only instrument that is not a permanent member of orchestras.  For special songs or maybe in pops orchestras, they will use a sax.  Bison are great too look at, but just don't get too close, as they can be mean.

During the last two decades, bison have been reintroduced to northern Canada.  We have encounted them on the Alaska Highway a couple of times, mostly north of Muncho Lake.  I have some pictures, but CC won't load them.  Maybe later.

I can understand the Eastwood quote if you've not been lucky enough to have a good marriage.

I think we'll pass on the meal as neither of us like grits, but maybe it would be okay with hash browns.  I'll have to think about that.  The drink might be allright, but I'll probably skip the wine.

We have not been to Sharm el Sheikh, but hope to some day.

@smitty34877  Terry, so sorry that Tana had such a bad set back.  I hope she is better soon.  You are so good to take care of her, her son and dog.  BTW, we don't pack until the day before we leave.  We do have lists and gather most things in one place, so they're ready to pack.

@cat shepard  Ann, so sad Cyn had such a bad reation to the dhemo.  Sending good thoughts that

she is better soon and the doctors find a treatment she can tolerate.

Speaking of changing clocks, I found these instructions on Facebook.  Hope they help.

May be an image of text that says 'A GUIDE TO PUTTING YOUR CLOCKS BACK SMARTPHONE Leave it alone, it does its magic SUNDIAL Move one house to the left OVEN You'll need a Masters in Electronic Engineering or a hammer CAR RADIO Not worth it, wait six months'

I wondered about that this morning. At 6:30 when I pulled the report it simply said 'at sea' and I just looked for the next destination and forgot to put HMC as a destination. I remember looking at the itinerary now and seeing Bimini and thinking about it being an unusual port I don't remember HAL stopping at.

The pier there is new since March 2020.

Good morning everyone and Happy Saturday!  Thank you for the Daily Rich.

I remember seeing the bison near Denver when I lived in rural Eastern Colorado. I doubt they are still there. I’ll pass on the meal suggestion today, even though I like grits/polenta, the addition of sausage just doesn’t sound good to me. When I was in Houston we took a cooking class and made a grits soufflé that was essentially a casserole and it was delicious.

I love wine tasting and we had a fun time in Sonoma on our tour last month during our California Coastal cruise. I have shared this picture before but because it was taken during the wine tasting I just have to share again today. From the left:

It was a beautiful day and a beautiful winery.  We visited two wineries that day. We had such a great time together.

Yesterday I added Club Orange for our cruise next month and we also booked a night at the Hyatt Centric on Las Olas the day we disembark. Thank you for the recommendation of the hotel Joy @Seasick Sailor!  However, we decided to keep the hotel the same for the night before we sail since we arranged that through HAL, it’s nice to have our luggage taken care of by someone else for that part.

Have a great day everyone!

Sorry to hear the troubles folks are going through right now.  Many prayers.

I am thankful for this site where everyone is so “nice”.  No bickering or squabbling.  Thank you to Rich and Roy for their continued support.

Good news for us — 2 negative Covid tests this am.  I am glad for DH who has been basically home bound for almost 2 years.

Happy weekend to all.  Katherine

Good morning, all.  Finally, I managed to sleep in until 8:30 - which will be 7:30 tomorrow, and I wasn't hungry, so stayed with my usual breakfast of coffee.  Maybe I'm over my  CWD (cruise withdrawal syndrome).  Interesting day - If Rotterdam is in Bimini, but no shore excursions, does that mean it's a sea day?

@smitty34877, so sorry about Tana, what a terrible time this has been for her and you all, especially her son.   At least he has you for support.

@cat shepard,  prayers for your friend Cyn, and @Seasick Sailor, for your friend Walker.

The main attraction is a big casino and resort and there should be a shuttle with options for both public and private beaches.
