Good morning Dailyites!  It did rain early this morning but not much, haven't seen a single flurry of snow, but the wind is crazy!  The clouds are dark, and the out door Fawn cat (who has a heater on her wrapped porch)was very verbal this morning about the cold state of affairs  when I let her out.

We were going to go get a sausage roll this morning, but I don't want to wake DH.  When he is asleep, he is not moaning in pain.  Not sure if he will want to work today, but I know I have to.  I looked at the pain pills the dentist gave him.  Very scary possible side effects.  They list two.  Problems breathing, and death.

I love Alfred Hitchcock films.  I read once that the reason he used spider webs, was to frighten men.  LOL, he said women see them everyday because we clean,, but men don't and therefore they frighten them.  I also love to watch them to find the scenes when he is in the film.  DH and I have a collection of them, and every two years we do a Hitchcock movie marathon.  I did see that Peacock has about 10 Hitchcock films to watch in March, and most of them are ones I don't have, something to do between F1 watching.

@grapau27  Thanks for the food porn.  That steak looks incredible!

Genealogy- well, through Ancestry I found out i have a half sister, who doesn't' want to know me, I had a half brother, and through him I have a nephew.  And my biological father must have been a travelin' man because i have 100's of 2nd and 3rd cousins.  But the real reason I went to Ancestry was to find out what nationality I was.  Scandanavian, Dutch and Scottish.

For all here you educate us, humor and  love us, thanks for all you do.

In regards to Girl Scouts, love the cookies, but I was asked to leave the girls scouts, and the ballet school, and the ballroom dancing classes.....

Thank you.

It was a 14 ounce Ribeye steak and was delicious.

Graham.

Happy Saturday to all.

Today’s weather here in Bluffton is cold and the sunshine is of the liquid variety.

We are under a freeze warning for tonight.  All week it has been in the 80s.  Go figure!

Thank you Rich and Roy for the lists.

As for ancestry, I really don’t know much.  My father left when I was a baby and had nothing to do with him for the rest of my life.  I have 3 half siblings that I never see.  On my mother’s side, everyone is gone, except for one cousin.  So there is not much.

Never a Girl Scout.

Not particularly a fan of Alfred Hitchcock.  Have seen some of his movies, but now they’re too scary for me.

I’ll pass on the veggie burger.  However, the wine and the drink sound good.

i have been to Santorini a number of times and always enjoy it.  The last few times we have just walked around a while and had lunch at Archipelagos restaurant overlooking the Caldera.  Fried Calimari and a Greek Salad with a bottle of wine.  Felt like I was in heaven.

Happy Birthday to @Quartzsite Cruiser and Mrs. @Overhead Fred.  Many more happy years ahead.

Prayers for the people of Ukraine and that this insane war comes to an end soon.

@kazu Jacqui, you are in my prayers.  It is so difficult to have to place someone in long term care—especially a spouse.  I pray for you all the time. I have had to do this twice and neither time was it easy.

Prayers for everyone on the list and cheers for those celebrating and cruising.

Hope you all have a good day.

God Bless and stay safe,

Terri

Good morning.  Nasty weather headed our way.  @crazyforcatsbe careful up there.  25 degrees with 40 mile an hour winds due overnight.  Not used to this in southern Florida.  Love the Genealogy Day, looked up my chart back to the 1600's.  Like Girl Scouts Day, but will pass on Hitchcock.  His movies scared me.

Interesting quote.  Will pass on the meal, not ready for veggie burgers.  I like my meat!

Have not been to today's destination.

@Overhead FredHappy Birthday Mitzi!🎂

Sounds like a wonderful trip @grapau27.

@Quartzsite CruiserHappy Birthday 🎂

Prayers and toasts to our lists.

Please continue to stay safe.  Wear your mask if you feel comfortable doing so.

Gin and Tonic:

A gin and tonic or, less frequently, gin tonic, is a highball cocktail made with gin and tonic water poured over a large amount of ice. The ratio of gin to tonic varies according to taste, strength of the gin, other drink mixers being added, etc., with most recipes calling for a ratio between 1:1 and 1:3. Wikipedia
Main alcohol: Gin
Ingredients: 1 part to 3 parts gin (to taste), 3 parts tonic water
Preparation: In a glass filled with ice cubes, add gin and tonic.
Served: On the rocks; poured over ice
Standard garnish: A slice or wedge of lime
Drinkware: Highball glass, Rocks glass

Good morning and thanks for the update.
The snow has begun, supposed to be really bad, with up to 6 inches and high winds.

Rich, I don’t think the Eurodam has a correct location, not PEV on 3/12.

Blessings and prayers to all on our lists.🙏❤️

Good morning!   Very cold here in MI the snow was very loud and crunchy when I walked on it to feed the birds.  They hung back a while so the Cooper's Hawk had to be around.

I think I shared by geneology from memory last week so I will not go into it again.  Haven't had the test done.   I enjoyed being a Girl Scout and I enjoyed Girl Scout camp a lot.  Church camp was better because we resided in small cabins versus tents, went horseback riding and it was co-ed.   My first Alfred Hitchcock movie was The Birds in the theater.   It was released in 1963 and my mother brought me and my little sister to it.  I think she didn't get a good idea of the content before bringing children to that movie.  We weren't terrorized though.

Will definitely skip the burger, G&T I will take my Gin neat,  the wine sounds very good and I love WA wines, never have been to Greece.

Today will be working with photos - I have photos in my phone and two other cameras and I like to get them all on the hard drive of my computer by date and event that they took place.   I also bought a nice chuck roast yesterday and instead of my usual pot roast I am going to make beef stew for tomorrow's dinner.

@Overhead Fred Happy birthday to your DW Mitzi and  @Quartzsite Cruiser Happy Birthday! 🍾🎂

Prayers to all on Roy's Care list and for those in Ukraine, I find myself waking to praying for peace in Ukraine.  🙏

Pinney's Beach Nevis almost 30 years on.   1993 2022.  I was fortunate to win a couple of yearly sales award prizes and the two years that I won we went to the Four Season's in Nevis.  When our cruise on the NS was going to visit St. Kitt's we had to take the rough 45 minute water taxi each way to get there.   It was nice to look, sit and swim on Pinney's Beach but the digs were nothing like the Four Seasons.

Good morning everyone. Last night at 3am we heard a loud crash came into the kitchen to find one of the cabinets had pulled away from the wall, spilling its contents  all over and all the dishes in pieces. No idea why it happened. The cabinet is in one piece and the handyman is coming for something else today or tomorrow so hopefully it can be rehung without keeping anything in it. We had rain last night but that happened afterwards.

Stay safe everyone,

Carol

Santorini is the prettiest and our favourite Greek island.

Gorgeous photos!  I am currently watching the snow fall in MD wishing I was on a Greek island instead of experiencing the last days of winter.

We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are.--Anaïs Nin

Good Morning.

We have a pleasant start to the day but a major cold front is expected by noon. We need the rain that is expected but it will be very unseasonably cold tonight.

I love the quote.  It is so true. We are all the product of our experiences and we see things through the lens of those experiences. It is only the human species that puts judgements on events and we most often make those judgements through our own individual pre-judgements.

Good Saturday morning friends!  We had heavy rain overnight then it stopped and the temp dropped to 31F.  I actually saw on the radar some bits of snow in our county but I've seen nothing coming down.  The winds are crazy noisy this morning.  Tonight will be really cold so if the winds calm down I can throw some old sheets over the blooming shrubs to protect the tender vegatation.  I keep the old sheets in the garage cabinets and we use them for pruning the shrubs and to catch the clippings.

Today's port of Thira (Santorini) is a very popular one.  The last time we saluted it was Oct. 24 (That was a special day for someone - Happy Anniversary @Seasick SailorJoy and Allen!).  We had many photos presented that day from Dailyites so I hope that happens again today.  We've enjoyed that port 3 times.

An interesting quote and a good vegetarian meal choice.  I appreciate the Girl Scouts and love the cookies.  I was Cookie Mom for DD's troop so it was a good thing we had an empty dining room at the time.  Alfred Hitchcock was very talented but I've never really liked scary movies.  I wish I had more talent at genealogy.

Happy Birthday to @Quartzsite CruiserLenda and Mrs. @Overhead FredMitzi!  Many happy returns!  @grapau27Graham thanks for the photos taken during Pauline's birthday cruise.  Looks like you're both enjoying the food and scenery.

Much appreciation to Rich, Roy and our Dailyite family for this place to meet, for keeping the Care and Celebration lists, and to those who add the food and beverage information.  Prayers sent for our entire list and especially to the people of Ukraine.  I'm so thankful for all the contributions and help of other countries as they fight this battle.  @kazuJacqui I hope all is well with you, Jose, and Marley.  We're all praying for you!  @marshhawkAnn, my wish is that things are looking better for your DH today and the pain meds help.

Have a wonderful weekend!
