Thank you for the Saturday Daily, Rich.  I'll pass on the spinach and was never a fan of Star Trek.  My make my own holiday is Cub Scout Scouting for Food Day as I'll be at the fire house manning the turn in point for our pack's collection.  I'll take the penne but pass on the white beans. I like the Einstein quote.  Never been to Albany.  My alternative menu suggestion is fairly close Chilled Sour Cherry Soup, Spaghetti Amatriciana, and Rhubarb Crisp as served on MS Zaandam March 26, 2017:

Good morning.  Thanks for the Daily Report.

I hope everyone Lives Long and Prospers.  I don't know what holiday I would create.  I like a spinach salad once in a while but shouldn't too much spinach because it can cause kidney stones.

Interesting quote.

The meal sounds interesting, looking forward to seeing the recipe.

I hope the cocktail and wine are tasty.

I've never been to Australia but would love to.  Thanks in advance for the pictures.

It's cold and cloudy here and we've got snow in the forecast.

Prayers for our world.

Hope everyone has a good day.   Stay safe.

Good Morning. Thanks for the daily and the care lists.

Interesting quote but I would shorten it to simply "read to them". My Rotary Club has a project- we work with our local hospital to provide a little gift for all babies born there. We donate a bib that says: "Read To Me" along with a little book.

Stay safe everyone.

Good morning.

50°F and sunny here this morning.

Thank you for today's daily and fleet reports Rich.

Thank you Roy for keeping all the list's updated.

Good days today.

Hopefully we can all live long and prosper.

We like making our own holidays.

I was not in to fairy stories as a child just sport so I hope the quote is wrong.

I will give the food and drink a miss.

Australia is on our bucket list so photos of Albany will be nice to see.

Sending our prayers 🙏 for everyone on the care list and those who have recently lost their lovely pets.

I hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Our clocks go forward tomorrow morning so looking forward to lighter nights.

Graham.

Good morning, everyone.

We are back to winter here in northeast Ohio with snow and temps in the high 20s, low 30s.  Brrrr.  @puppycanducruise, I hear you about the spinach.   Beets are another food that can cause kidney stones and I remember putting beets on my spinach salad.  No more.  It helps if the spinach is cooked.  My mom used to make creamed spinach that is so much better than the stuff they have in the Pinnacle Grill.  I am spoiled by mom's and won't order it in the Pinnacle again.

Today's meal is a good one for tonight considering it is winter again.   I can also see this as a cold dish on a bed of crisp greens as a summer salad.  Something to consider.   Our first selection honors the day by including spinach!   https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/penne-with-tomatoes-white-beans/

1304351920_Pennetomatoeswhitebeans1.jpg.2ccae4206548ad4c1124b19255d66426.jpg

This next one leaves out the spinach and adds in basil.  It sounds good, but check out the carb count.  That is my allowance for two meals.  Unfortunately, carbs aren't like calories.  You can't splurge one meal and cut back the next.  https://www.elliekrieger.com/recipe/penne-with-roasted-tomatoes-garlic-and-white-beans/

1700793086_pennetomatoeswhitebeans3.jpg.6d3c6575470600ffb0e9a0589b49cbbc.jpg

No penne on hand?   No problem.  Use the pasta/noodles you do have.  Spinach is back in for this recipe.  https://www.budgetbytes.com/tuscan-white-bean-pasta/

Prayers for all who need them, especially our Daily family members and Ukraine.  Wishing everyone a great day.

Good Saturday morning.  Bright and sunny, but cold here this morning.  Good days today.  I loved the Star Trek series.  Love cooked spinach, not sure what my holiday would be.

Interesting quote. Will have to think about it.

The meal looks very good, will save it for another day.

Major prayers for our care list.  This covid is just so bad.

Toasts to our celebrations.  Happy to see so many back on a BHB.

Please continue to stay safe.  Do not drop your guard.

Thankyou Rich for the Daily Report, thankyou Roy for the Cares and Celebration Report, and thankyou Debbie for the recipes. And thankyou everyone for being here!

We have been busy the last few weeks, Sue with new art work as she is the featured artist for the Month of May at the Co-Op Gallery in Staunton, and me with reorganizing my workshop along with prepping the power tools for  Summer yardwork. Next Saturday we fly out for our delayed cruise on the Rotterdam.  It will be good to be back at sea!

Good morning everyone.  Thank-you for the daily report and lists.  I hope you all live long and prosper.  My special day will be Freedom from War Day.  I do love spinach and the first recipe that @dfishposted is making me drool! The drink sounds like it might be nice but only if it’s not too sweet.  I hope to travel to Australia some day but it will have to be in retirement, I look forward to seeing the photos.  Prayers for everyone on our list today.  Cheers to everyone celebrating happy events 🎉

SoDo 2019 Wingman G-S-M (Columbia Valley (WA)

An excellent rating from Wine Enthusiast and a reasonable price makes this GSM one I would like to try. I bet the Washington grapes will make for a delicious wine! A bit elusive - I found one online distributor offering it for $14.99.

Distributor Notes

A classic GSM made by our favorite local winemaker, Ryan Crane. His new Wingman blend opens up with notes of Bing cherry, cranberry, baking spice (allspice and clove), freshly churned soil, dried leaves, eucalyptus and smoke. On the palate this wine is medium bodied; has focused acidity, silky back-end tannins and a slight salinity with a spicy and lingering finish. This wine is comprised of three carefully selected vineyard sites, with the Grenache component being sourced from Den Hoed and Lonesome Spring Ranch Vineyards. The Syrah element hails from the hallowed Red Willow Vineyard in Yakima Valley, while the Mourvedre was also sourced from Lonesome Spring Ranch Vineyard.

How interesting that today's port is Albany Australia.........we were there twelve years ago today! In the absence of cruising over the last two years, I have begun looking at photos from our travels each day. And lo and behold, today was Albany.

It's a small town and very friendly. Another couple and we went into town and hooked up with a local couple for a tour. We did not spend much time in the town itself, but there was a lovely old church with great flowers outside. Most of our time was spend at Torndirrup National Park which is full of boulders in interesting formations and a natural bridge. Part of the tour was also through a windmill farm where there were actually walking paths among the windmills. We did see a few black swans on our way out of town. The weather was fine, just quite dreary looking.

Good Saturday morning, nothing of today's days mean much to me.   I will have a holiday of watching horse racing today. from Dubai west to CA. It is blowing 30 mph and is 26 degrees.   A little bit of snow on the ground.   I am glad there is a good reason not to et spinach - kidney stones - the only way I care for it is in a dip.  Reading is so important and it is so good for little one's brains and ours too.

Not a fan of pasta with beans, no melon drinks for me I bet the WA State wine will be good, Never have been to our port today.

Prayers to all on Roy's care list and for the people of Ukraine.   Let's hope Putin's time is beginning to come to an end.  🙏

We had a long day in a neighboring town.  I had an afternoon doctor appointment there so we took a scenic drive there, stopped at the casino for fun and coffee and rolls, then on the way stopped for Happy Hour at a restaurant in town.  Sliders, Calamari, Wings and carrot cake and coffee,   It helped take our minds off our lousy weather.   Have a lovely day!

Good morning friends!  A bit chilly this morning so I stayed home to walk the treadmill and pray for all.  It's an interesting group of days today.  I would like to live long and prosper.  A little raw spinach in my salad is quite alright.  I can't seem to figure out a holiday on my own.  I agree with just reading anything to children and they will benefit.  It doesn't have to be a fairy tale.  I think the penne dish would be better without the beans but I'm no chef!  I noticed the Volendam is anchored off Malaga today.  A nice place to just hang out.  Thanks for the Daily @richwmn!  Also our lists are certainly lengthy Roy @rafinmd.  Cheers to Roy with new plans to cruise after getting his good health report and to Jack @Heartgroveand DW on their cruise coming up next week and her art gallery feature.  On the other hand we have a lot of sad news and prayers needed.  The loss of all the pets, the newest being Marley.  Prayers for Jose and Jacqui, Tana, Tony @sailingdutchyas he isolates due to Covid during his cruise, and the stricken PA State Troopers may they RIP.  Also daily prayers for the people of Ukraine.  It's hard to imagine the horror they're witnessing.  Prayers also for improvement in Buddy and Jen.  🙏

Albany (W. Australia), Australia was our port last time on Aug. 6.   I have visited there one time and showed you all some photos.  I'll go back and post them again for all the new people who may have missed them.  Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Good Morning!

I dearly love Star Trek. When I was in Afghanistan, the chow halls had Armed Forces TV playing and one morning the original Star Trek was on. I stood there holding my tray with tears in my eyes - a little bit of home for this old gal. The younger crowd looked at me like I was nuts - lol.

I think children should be asked what holiday they would like. The answers should be pretty insightful. Fairy tales usually have good moral themes hidden in them, which is why children (and many adults) should read them.

Love spinach, the meal today, the wine, and the drink. I’ve never been to Australia.

Good morning, thanks for the Daily!  I enjoyed Star Trek, my favourite episode was The Trouble With Tribbles.  I'll make up a holiday:  The First Saturday of the Week Holiday.  Spinach in moderation - usually in a dip or maybe a bit in salad.

Reading to children is so important - it provides them and the reader a chance to bond, relax, and can take them to places far away.  I send a card/letter to our oldest DGS (age 6) every couple of weeks and was delighted to hear this week that he read the entire letter out loud to his parents without any help.  Proud grandmother here!

We're back in the cold again; currently sitting at -12C and the predicted high is only -7, so there definitely won't be any melting.  It's been nice seeing the glaciers recede from both the front and back yards over the past few days, but the recession is on hold for a bit.  I did take a chance the other day and actually wore shoes for the first time in 2022 instead of my boots.  The street and parking lots were dry enough that I didn't even need to wear my rainboots.

I enjoy penne from time to time, but don't think it will be happening tonight.  Last night before we went to sleep, DH asked if we had any more ingredients to make Philly Cheesesteaks.  We do, so I guess that's what we'll be having for dinner tonight.  And wine.

Prayers for everyone who needs them and even for those who don't think they do.  Extra prayers for the people of Ukraine and all those who are giving them assistance.  Extra for our Daily-ite family who have health issues, and for those who have lost dear fur babies.  We'll clink the glasses together to celebrate all on the happy list tonight.  Get your boosters, wear your masks when you need to, wash your hands, be safe and stay well.

Smooth Sailing! 🙂🙂🙂

Gerry

Good morning! Pretty smooth ride this morning at sea but there is dense fog and pouring rain out there. Smooth enough the cabin noise is normal. We are now confined to our room for twenty minutes awaiting our on-board Covid test results. 🙏🙏🙏Our phone does not ring!

Last night we dined in Canelleto which was wonderful as usual. Tonight it’s back to Tamarind if we don’t get a phone call.

Hopefully, it will clear up some, otherwise, it’s going to be an indoor day.

Thanks Rich and continued concerns and prayers for those in need.

Well my cruise is pretty much over as I have tested positive for Covid. I have elected to stay on board and go into quarantine on a balcony cabin.

I woke up with some congestion and scratchy throat. Well, this is a bummer but it is what it is.
