Every thing under the sun but usually on Alaska one will be a Naturalist or Oceanographer and will often talk over the PA from the bridge if things are of things of interest or whales.

( Alaska)....wondering what types of talkes or lectures they have.

Check the current sailing of Solstice on the Celebrity app.  Terrain, wildlife, eagles, oceans, dolphins, orcas---all separate presentations.

Brent Nixon is usually the naturalist on board the Solstice.  His marine animal/whale talks are informative and entertaining.  Also featured is Miss Mary Amanda who give colorful historical talks.  This husband/wife duo should not be missed if featured on your ship.  Highly recommend!

We just disembarked Eclipse in Vancouver. Naturalist Milos Radakovich gave multiple lectures and spoke from the bridge during our time at Hubbard Glacier. Super knowledgeable and entertaining!

My partner was disappointed that I didn’t go to each and every lecture last time.  So this time I will go to every single one until he gives up.

Yeah, sometimes I find the speaker's talk interesting, sometimes not. Ha, your partner might love a lecture that you find boring and vice versa. You have  a couple of interesting cruises coming up.

Thank you! I was unaware that I could look at a current cruise to get the feel of the activities. Very helpful.

I don’t care what they are about.  I’m going to all of them.  I’m going to make my partner suffer until he apologizes to me.

Very interested in this topic as well, have been wondering what talks/speakers they'll have on an upcoming TA.  Time for a long list of books!

On TA’s, the talks, Beyond the Podium, are one of the highlights. Get speakers on various subjects. Had an Ambassador to Russia; a Hollywood writer/producer who talked on the business; an actor talked on inside stuff of Broadway and so on; science; architecture….you get the idea.

Loved them!

Definitely do not miss Brent Nixon!  Only the first lecture was not standing room only on both cruises he was our speaker.  We enjoyed his talks in Alaska and Vancouver to Hawaii.  Miss Mary Amanda also did interesting programs on the role of women in the service and the music played on the Titanic.

LOL...I'm glad the Wife and I don't make schedules for the other.  🙂. That said, the lectures aren't for me.  That's one of the nice things about cruising, many varieties of things to do onboard.

You should be glad you don’t have a spouse that says “why do you cruise honey?”  You don’t go to the casino or the pool or the lectures?  Why, you only go to the bar….”  🤣

I get the opposite: “Honey, why are you booking the excursions, going to trivia, to the lectures, the pool, the casino……when are you going the relax?!”.   My response: “Those Are relaxing!!”….and she doesnt miss much of any of those and when she doesnt feel like going….I end up using the term that has been handy for 30+ years: “Yes Dear”…and relax wherever.

Booked my first Celebrity cruise ( Alaska)....wondering what types of talkes or lectures they have.

Something I have enjoyed on other lines.

Thank you in advance.

There have been substantial cutbacks in speakers on Celebrity ships.  However, there is usually a naturalist on board for the Alaskan cruises.  On the Solstice, we had Brett Nixon.  He is entertaining.  On our cruise, there were plenty of seats.  He will answer questions afterwards.

Great! I hope he is still on board for our Sept. 11 out of Vancouver.

Stop going to them and I guarantee they won’t be at 9am anymore!

Make him go with you to all of them; or forcing time apart by you going and he is not included?
