Rare Crazy For Cats Posted January 6, 2023 #3 Share Posted January 6, 2023 Good Morning Everyone, thanks for the daily fleet report. Light snow is in our forecast, another day I’m happy to be working from home. I’m curious about today’s meal suggestion and will wait for @dfish for pictures and recipes. Yesterday I secured a pet sitter for our May and July Zaandam cruises. I hope everyone has a good day today. 23

Seasick Sailor Posted January 6, 2023 #5 Share Posted January 6, 2023 Good morning Daily-ites from our lovely Rotterdam. I couldn't keep my eyes off of the sunrise this morning. Nothing planned today for Grand Turk. I'll probably just take a walk and see if anything changes from last week.. MDR tonight. I had another singles dinner last night. As I've stated, if nothing sounds good on the menu, I order lobster.. Wishing you all a blessed day with prayers and virtual hugs! 30
Mr. Boston Posted January 6, 2023 #6 Share Posted January 6, 2023 Good morning everyone. Nice collection of days. Is today’s quote attributed to anyone getting coffee in the lido buffet? I’ll pass on the meal suggestion but the drink and wine sound nice. Oh wait it’s dry January so I’ll have to pass on those as well. I haven’t been to today’s port. Prayers for everyone on our prayer list today. Cheers to everyone celebrating happy events! 🍻 23

Rare ottahand7 Posted January 6, 2023 #10 Share Posted January 6, 2023 Good Friday morning! Covid test day today around noon. Great news! Our chief wine steward stopped by at dinner last night and my Laprhoaig Scotch has been restocked. It is a gray day but still early so it hopes it burns off. Busy middle day, Covid test, 3 and 4 Star Mariner reception then our complimentary wine tasting at 2. Thanks for the Daily, Fleet, Cares and Celebration reports @rafinmd! Prayers for all on our Care list and the people of Ukraine. Food porn from last couple of nights. Nancy 30
Rare ottahand7 Posted January 6, 2023 #11 Share Posted January 6, 2023 I have a question for all aboard BHBs right now. Our happy hours are now only from 9-11pm each evening in 2 different bars. This is already spreading round the ship and causing complaints. Please let me know if this fleet wide. That is the excuse we got in the Mix bar last night. What is happening on your ship? Bon Voyage @GTVCRUISER 🍾🍷⛴️
StLouisCruisers Posted January 6, 2023 #12 Share Posted January 6, 2023 Good morning friends! It's 37F and cold right now, dark too! It will be sunny later and 54 for a high. We have errands to run this morning so need to get ready for that soon. Did my treadmill, said my prayers but I sure could use a few more zzzz's! Maybe a nap is in the cards this afternoon. Thank you Roy @rafinmdfor posting our Daily and Fleet Report for Rich @rafinmd. Today is the date of my dear late sister Nancy's birthday. I think of her daily. The days are unique...Beans, Cuddle Up Day, and World Day for War Orphans. We had enough beans last week when we used up our ham from Christmas in ham and bean soup. Reminds me of growing up. I'm cuddled up right now under a heavy afghan as the furnace brings our home up to daytime heat levels. My sympathy to any war orphan. The quote is fun, the menu suggestion, drink and wine are not for me. I'm surprised to see Abidjan, Ivory Coast again so soon. We had it here last week on Dec. 29 and the first time was March 11, 2022. Here are links to those dates in case you want to post your photos. I have not been there before. Prayers for all on the Care list, Ukraine, Damar Hamlin, and our country. Cheers to all on cruise ships,🚢 and to our friends here who are celebrating happy events.🥂 Hope everyone has a great day!
cat shepard Posted January 6, 2023 #13 Share Posted January 6, 2023 Thank you for another wonderful Report & Daily, Rich via Roy! The past two mornings it was 70 at 6 a.m. This morning it was 48. Even Bindi was not a fan of heading out at that time. The sun has not crested the trees yet, but once it does it will warm up to the mid-sixties. Roy, thank you for all you do! After coffee, I head to the gym. Then Bindi walks & my quarterly file clean out. Tax time is coming. Prayers for all who need our support. Cheers to all who are celebrating! Get well & stay well everyone! ******* Silverado Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Grown Napa Valley, California I have enjoyed several bottles of this Napa Cab over the years, but admit that there are so many equally excellent wines available for less, that I probably would not buy it now. I used the 2018 vintage’s ratings and prices, since this is the most recently released vintage. It is available from several online distributors with prices starting at $42.98. Winemaker Notes This approachable Cabernet offers aromas of blackberry crisp and exhibits flavors of cherry, clove, and a hint of dark chocolate. Full bodied and smooth with a lingering finish. TP94 Tasting Panel With some Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Caber- net Franc blended in, this standup Cabernet Sauvignon aged 17 months in primarily French oak, seeing some Hungarian and American oak as well. Sourced from the winery’s estate vineyards (Mt. George, Silverado, and Oakville Station), the fruit yielded tight-fisted tannins of coffee and plum skin that hold this superbly structured, concentrated, and elegant red together. Chewy, with earthy undertones and depth defined by dark choco- late and black olive. WW92 Wilfred Wong of Wine.com The 2018 Silverado Vineyards Estate Grown Cabernet Sauvignon is rich yet not overpowering. TASTING NOTES: This wine excels with aromas and flavors of sandalwood, black fruit, licorice, and oak. Pair it with a steak salad. (Tasted: December 20, 2021, San Francisco, CA) D91 Decanter Ripe cassis, toast, vanilla and spice nose. Sleek tannins and appetising acidity. Precisely defined blackcurrant and black plum flavours and well-integrated oak. Blend : 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot WE90 Wine Enthusiast With small amounts of Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc included, this elegant red shows graceful layers of plum, black cherry and currant built around a soft, supple midpalate. Approachable and youthful, it's a wine to enjoy in the near term. W&S90 Wine & Spirits A strong young Napa Valley cabernet, this wine needs hours in a decanter for the tannins to begin to soften their grip. It slowly gives up that initial severity to yield notes of dried figs, gaining flesh to wrap around the tannins. There’s a good wine here that requires patient cellaring. 19 7
Cruzin Terri Posted January 6, 2023 #14 Share Posted January 6, 2023 Good Friday Morning to all of you. I am looking forward to going to our house and opening some boxes and finally getting reunited with the things that I always have at hand. After living out of a suitcase for the last 4 months, I am getting impatient. Yesterday i was amazed at how efficiently the crew from Service Masters worked together. I worked together with them doing what I could. I am so grateful that we have good insurance. After the original glitches, they have been great in covering most things. The only out of pocket for us is the floor upgrade, and the bathroom remodel. That in itself is costing a small fortune, but is worth it. So, thanks for all your support. Hopefully I will get back to regular posting soon. God bless, Terri

aliaschief Posted January 6, 2023 #17 Share Posted January 6, 2023 Ahoy Mates! Just woke up and showered sitting on veranda and I’m definitely in my happy place. Had a pretty sail-away followed by a small CC M&G. Met some folks that will be joining us on WC. There are 633 guest on board and they are a friendly and well traveled group. Last night’s review of on board entertainers promises we’ll be enjoying some very talented entertainers. Two guest lecturers, a Bridge (card) instructor and a artist who gives water color painting instructions. Today’s seas are calm with a slight chop and we have been very pleased with the quietness of our cabin. Headed for coffee on Sunset Terrace then breakfast. The ship just had Star Link installed and so far WIFI is very fast. Thanks for the reports and post. 17 1

dfish Posted January 6, 2023 #23 Share Posted January 6, 2023 Good morning, everyone! It is supposed to be a nice day today. We'll see about that! I'm going to my class at the gym at 10:00 and then a haircut at 1:00. I desperately need the haircut. Took the car to the carwash yesterday to get all the grime off it. It is nice being able to see out the windows again. Who knew? Later yesterday afternoon a neighbor stopped by. I think she is the neighborhood social director. She brought me a neighborhood directory and told me all about the luminaries they do and the upcoming neighborhood party. It is generally a holiday party, but was postponed this year until February 5th. It will be nice to meet the neighbors. Today's meal is one to broaden the horizons. Just what is Tempeh and what is Broccoli Rabe? Tempeh is a traditional Indonesian food made from fermented soybeans. It is made by a natural culturing and controlled fermentation process that binds soybeans into a cake form. Like tofu, tempeh is made from soybeans, but it is a whole-soybean product with different nutritional characteristics and textural qualities. Tempeh's fermentation process and its retention of the whole bean give it a higher content of protein, dietary fiber, and vitamins. It has a firm texture and an earthy flavor, which becomes more pronounced as it ages. Broccoli Rabe, or Rapini, s a green cruciferous vegetable, with the leaves, buds, and stems all being edible; the buds somewhat resemble broccoli, but do not form a large head. Rapini is known for its bitter taste, and is particularly associated with Mediterranean cuisine. This first recipe has tips on how to make it vegan and also substitutions for broccoli rabe. https://www.almostlikemoms.com/tempeh-sausage-orecchiette-with-broccoli-rabe/ I think this next recipe is for me due to the caramelized onions and sun dried tomatoes. Mmmm https://www.loveandlemons.com/orecchiette-with-broccoli-rabe/ This recipe doesn't include the tempeh but you could easily add it in. https://blog.workman.com/vegetable-butchers-brocolli-rabe-orecchiette-garlic-breadcrumbs Wishing everyone a wonderful day! 19

marshhawk Posted January 6, 2023 #25 Share Posted January 6, 2023 Good Friday Morning Dailyites! To make up for a missed Monday, our boss is having us work this morning to early afternoon. Which means the dog needs to be walked before I start work, which means lunch has to be made before I start work, and I need to make breakfast, as I am beginning to sleep later and later due to having to work later and later..... So another introduction to the fur babies, I have no idea why these two are fuzzy in the pictures, because they move the least. The gray square face is Neko, we found her in a box marked Free Kat 17 years ago. She is the office manager, as she has not left my work area since I started working from home, she often climbs up on the computer while I am in the midst of talking with patrons, and if I leave my work area she will start going around the house screaming at me to get back to work.. Reminds me of my old boss. The tan monster is Irving. He is also 17 years old. Neither of them are in good health, both of them are needy as all get out, and as I write, Irving just climbed in my lap to suck warmth from me. 26
