NFL Primetime Game Viewing - large group

Hello, everyone!  I tried searching for the answer and never could find a direct answer.  Will they have primetime (night) NFL games for viewing?  We are bringing about 50-75 guests on a cruise and we are looking at the Breeze.  This will be my 4th time on the Breeze.  Thank you.

I am guessing they won't have it on the big screen but trying to figure out how to get a large group together to watch a game onboard and have a great time.

Monday Night Football on ESPN should be on in the casino and in the Red Frog Pub.

Sunday Night on NBC probably will not be shown. Unless one of the TVs in the casino bar can be switched. But not sure they can, most of the time is the ESPN channels that Carnival has paid for to be shown.

Thursday Night on Amazon has no chance at all of being on the ship.

They will likely have the game on but you will find in hard to find a place that can comfortably accomodate a large group along with the other fans who will be on board.  Carnival still struggles with this even on ships with a dedicated sports bar.  You end up with chaos around some random TV at the casino bar or something.

If It's Dallas or Houston, they may put it on the big screen. Otherwise RFP and the casino on Breeze.

Probably won't be either of those teams.  We might end up having over 100 people in our group so trying to figure it out.  Thanks.

Has the NFL schedule even been released yet?  I was looking the other day for a cruise out of N.O., but couldn't find any schedules.

Schedule has not been released. Tomorrow is the draft and then they have an event for schedule release day. The Thanksgiving games will be leaked soon

It's annoying. They used to release it in April but now they need the spotlight on everything. So the draft is in primetime and they do the schedule release in May.

We were on the Dream out of Galveston during the MLB Playoffs/World Series. Enough folks bombarded the CD with requests for the Astros games to be on the big screen, and Carnival was able to accommodate.  Also, we were on the ship for two Sundays (Journeys cruise), and the Cowboys game was shown on the Lido deck, although they were day games. Not sure what day your cruise leaves versus the day of the game you want to watch, but it might be worth an appeal to the CD to see if he will figure it out.

It’s strange that Carnival can’t get it worked out to show the games. On a Royal this past November they showed Sunday afternoon games, Sunday night, Monday night and Thursday night! They had them at numerous big screens (Aqua Theater and pool deck and bars). And to make it even better, all these games were also shown in your stateroom…and the stateroom TV was large. If Royal can do it, Carnival should too.

It'll be a whole new ball game this year with the Sunday Ticket moving from Satellite (DirecTV) to streaming (Youtube TV/Google)

Carnival has always gone off network feeds out of Miami or the Caribbean (thus no Thursday night NFL Network games)

Every cruise we have been on has the Sunday afternoon games and Sunday and Monday night games playing in the sportsbar and on the TVs sprinkled throughout the casino and casino bar.

Haven't been on any of the newer monstrocity ships, but all of the older ships I've been on have a sportsbar that only holds maybe 50 people tops. So the Op's group will definitely have a difficult time watching the game unless someone can get them to play it poolsideon the big screen.

That might be the option we will have to take.  I want to book the group on Carnival but Royal might work out best.  Just a 4 day cruise to Cozumel --- weekender.

Definitely.  The Breeze doesn't have a sports bar but they have the Red Frog Pub.  Which would work but their TVs are tiny. They did have TVs on the concourse part of the Red Frog Pub as well.   Casino Bar was great when they had that.

All it takes is money and increased costs and cruise fares. No thank you. If the NFL is that important, cruise off season, or cruise on a different line.

The only screen Carnival wants you staring at on their ships is the one on the slot machine. When guests are staring at a TV, they're not eating $6 PB&J sandwiches or posing for $30 8x10 photos.

That is certainly true for cruisers on casino rates. Carnival only charges me $5 for a PB&J and includes a cookie.

But the guests are drinking a lot of alcohol. 😉

First off, the whole reason we are doing a cruise because we all think it will be a great time to cruise and watch the game together.  Is it important?  No.  Fun?  Yes.

Second, doesn't cost the cruise line a dime to show a NBC Sunday Night game on TVs or big screen.  Not one dime.

I don't know that this part is actually true. I cruise usually once during football season...twice in 2021. I would say there's only been one time that the TNF game hasn't been on and that was because they didn't have a signal.
