Today is a sad memory day, 4 years ago I lost a special friend Mabel. She was like a second mother to me and a cruising companion. I’m grateful she didn’t have to deal with the Covid situation that would not have allowed me to say goodbye. Blessings and prayers to all on our lists. In memory of your dear friend Mabel. 9

dfish Posted February 7 #78 Share Posted February 7 Greetings from Honolulu. This morning we went up to Foster Botanical Gardens and enjoyed walking around and seeing all the plants. They have a whole conservatory full of orchids. @Crazy For Cats my condolences to Juan on the loss of his uncle. 27
JazzyV Posted February 7 #79 Share Posted February 7 Good afternoon. I'm pooped. Still lots to do, but BFF did all the taking of stuff to the basement. I worry about that as he has some cardiac issues. I'm hoping since I haven't heard from the contractor that it won't be until next week that they'll move the furniture. I have so much depression glass from my mother, and china. I need to definitely get rid of some stuff going forward. I think it's wine time! @aliaschief Hoping for calmer seas for you soon. @1ANGELCAT Hugs on this sad memory day. I'm sure you have many good memories to comfort you. @57redbird That's great news on the Gabapentin helping you so quickly! I can't wait until I can start taking less. @dfish Lovely flowers, especially the orchids. 17

Quartzsite Cruiser Posted February 8 #81 Share Posted February 8 Good afternoon from sunny and windy Honolulu. Our tour today was basically a bust. We are just glad it was part of HIA. The double decker bus we boarded at the pier turned out to be a shuttle to a regular Waikiki Trolley stop where we had to get off, and stand in line with everyone who had a ticket for one of the four trolley routes. We finally got on one of the routes, and found they are not narrated, but mainly a means of getting to different places. To top it off, the first shuttle back to the ship wasn't until 3:30 this afternoon, 7 hours after leaving the ship. After our ride, we took Uber back to the ship. Our problem was with a lack of information from ShoreEx. I even went up the other day with some questions about the tour after reading the trolley's website. I knew more than the guy in ShoreEx. We've been here so many times, it wasn't too bad for us, except the standing in line, but we felt sorry for those passengers who had never been here before. At least, DH could see the area without havingto drive and watch out for the traffic. End of rant. 6 hours ago, JazzyV said: Good morning. Thanks for the FR/Daily. Not sure I can celebrate the mathematical constant e! I'll salute ballet and school plays. Good quote. Maybe on the soup, yes to the drink and the wine. I have been to St. Thomas, VI on Golden Princess, my first ever cruise, celebrating my 50th birthday. Another sunny day, with a high of 51F. I don't mean to whine, but this pain is just wow. It starts when I'm brushing my teeth and have to sit down. Then I hobble downstairs and try to make coffee. If I sit for an hour or so, then I can get up for short periods of time. When I'm done here, I'll see what I can do in the DR, and see if I can do some from sitting on a chair. Hallelujah, BFF has just offered to come over this afternoon to help me. Two weeks from tomorrow I have my procedure, and I sure hope it helps. @MISTER 67 I hope the move goes smoothly. @Cruzin Terri Aww, I'm sorry the bruising has spread and you don't want to go out and about. @StLouisCruisers Nice photos of the island and of you. Also thanks for posting Lenda's photos. @Crazy For Cats Jake, condolences to Juan and his family on the loss of his uncle. @ottahand7 Nice photos. I'm glad your cough is slowly getting better. @GTVCRUISER Good photos. @kazu Thanks for our start today. I'm glad your weather is better for now. @Mr. Boston Thanks for the photos. @Haljo1935 My, those meetings sound stressful. And I hope your job is safe. @0106 That looks like fun. @RMLincoln Prayers for DH that the eye pressure improves or the doctor has suggestions on Monday. @rafinmd Thanks for the maps. How are you feeling these days? @marshhawk If you can't talk to customers due to coughing, maybe time to get looked at? @kochleffel Thanks for sharing the botanical gardens. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those with something to Celebrate. St. Thomas, VI View from Paradise Point Blackbeard's Castle on Government Hill Megan's Bay from Mountain Top "World Famous" Mountain Top Banana Daiquiri Shopping area near the dock Sunset Vanessa, I'm glad you BFF could help you today. I hope your procedure puts an end to the pain, and I don't blame you for venting about it here. Thanks for your St. Thomas pictures. The Golden Princess is a nice ship, and our older DD was married on her 20 years ago. 4 hours ago, Lady Hudson said: Good afternoon to all. Prayers for those in need. The whole thing is so sad. It does appear the 2 officers will recover - both are 22 years with the force. 4
